my favoritest thing in hermitcraft fanfiction is when it takes place in a pseudo-minecraft fantasy realm but the hermits are still sometimes described with their nationalities. like okay this is a world where magic exists and you can respawn after you die and the entirety of reality sometimes gets new features added and new worlds can be created out of thin air, each with their own accompanying otherworldly pocket dimensions, and some people have special admin powers that allow them to alter the fabric of reality, and gods/cosmic horror monsters/a weird cult called the Watchers may or may not inhabit the spaces in between existence. also Canada exists. Canada exists here and we are not going to address it

I feel like starfish are one of those animals that are treated as very “normal” by people but absolutely shouldn’t be. Like they’re a wheel of repeating heads connected by a central stomach. They walk around using thousands of tiny sticky hydraulically powered tentacles. They have an eye on the end of each arm. Instead of having a mouth they just have an opening where their entire stomach can be pushed out to engulf prey. And they’re just allowed to exist like this. It’s not illegal or anything.

No because I'm not done talking about Pan!Drift and Shelby, Shelby randomly teleporting and being immediately drawn to Drift by fate, Drift describing the ridge to Shelby who cannot see it, describing her for she cannot see herself either, Shelby trying to give Drift flowers but Fate itself injuring her instead, Drift predicting the Tails even when it would hurt her and being right, Shelby finally expressing a singular desire, a simple want, to give the girl in front of her flowers, only to be denied, specifically denied by forcing that girl to go into the air and collapse in front of her, like the lightning which shattered the ground from under her, they are such doomed yuri to me, they are going to love and care for each other so much, and hurt each other so much more because of it, they makee me so so ill I love them so much, I don't think I've been this sick about a ship since Pearl and Cleo in Vampires, quite possibly not even then, because the Gods of Fate and Prophecy chose two women who had no choices, no real say in their lives, one likely a sacrifice the other just a joke to everyone around them, merely for a game where their choices hardly matter anyway, they're gon na make mee so sick

yesterday i had a nice southern teenager call me "ma'am" and then look at me and go, in a well-meaning tone, "uhhhh, if you go by ma'am. sorry if not." and i had to be like yeah man ma'am is fine. appreciate you being inclusive though. i could almost see the little warning pop up in his UI-- hold up! people with blue hair often have pronouns. are you sure you want to address this individual with a gendered term?

lowkey awakening has like weirdly modern slang so here is my concept: black eagles inigo. hes hanging out with some of the students, dorothea doing her opera thing he says “yesssss motherrrr” and petra goes “dorothea is not your mother!” and he says “no no no, in my homeland, mother is how you refer to a woman who is very talented and awesome” and petra, agreeing with this take of dorothea, nods along like ohhh ok that makes sense. of course, she also understands how maternal hierarchies work, so the next day in class, she calls manuela “grandma,”

i really thought the point of "being lgbt+ doesn't absolve you of racism as a white person" was that white people arent absolved of racism by being marginalized but it really seems like people think other marginalizations make it okay. no being disabled doesn't do it. no being poor doesnt do it. we need to fight against racism actively no matter what.

Sorry if this has been asked already, but are there any ClanGen blogs you especially enjoy, or have inspired you or anything?

It hasn't been asked before, I'd love to talk about some of my fave blogs. I'll try to keep it short even though there are many, and maybe I'll do a part 2 at some point.

@fallenclan was obviously a big inspiration for my comic, as I imagine it is for many Clangen blogs. It was so cool to see the art style and the stories evolve, and so impressive how long it went on for! You can definitely see in the influence in the page layout too, I think. Now FallenClan's creator is making @shatter-clangen which I am already very invested in, and has more of a cohesive story so far, which is very exciting.

I actually only started reading @splinterclan after DaisyClan was underway, but I got SO invested SO fast. The art style and layout is beautiful, but above all the characters are so well rounded and I truly feel for them. Prairiemoon is my fave.

I just reposted about this, but @fourandtwentyblackbirds-clangen is brilliant. The art style is unique, the pacing is immaculate. There's this one post featuring Snakefisher that moved me deeply, and I think about it often.

@hope-clan-chronicles is one of the few traditionally-drawn Clangen comics I've seen. The storyline is so good that it honestly stresses me OUT. It has some really fantastic and genuinely creepy horror moments too.

@doeclan's art style is sooo nice on the eyes. The author is teasing a story that will grow more complex in the back half of the comic, and something CRAZY happened in an recentish update. So now's a good time to get into it.

@gloomclan begins with only one cat in the Clan (who just did something morally rephrensible) so you KNOW it's going to be a unique and gripping story. I've been loving watching the characters develop and sensing the foreshadowing for things to come.

I have to stop here or I'll go on forever. I might come back with more favourites another time.
