Ridiculously unfair how much femininity in my culture is not designed to interact well with physical activity.

Skirt? if it's long it gets tangled up, if it's short then I risk flashing people who aren't okay with that.

Big dangly earrings? Necklace? Could get caught on something.

Purse? Bounces around while running unless I hold it, really best to put it down for anything fancier than that.

Makeup? I don't wear it, but from what I've heard, even the waterproof stuff has limits to how much sweat it can take.

Nails? nail polish gets scuffed up, and if they're too long they get snagged and break off

High heels? sure, you can find videos out there of people doing backflips in them, but no matter how good you are in heels, you'll still do better without.

Like, there are things I can do to express my femininity without losing my ability to move freely, but there's a huge swath of stuff that genuinely makes me feel more like myself, but also feels like it comes with a cost attached
