Listen, as an early childhood educator I fuck heavily with Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein. Watching it I couldn't help but want to foster the creature's childlike wonder over the new world around him. I could see where Victor's distain would lead him. How he craved love in a world where he couldn't get it except in fleeting relationships and not where it mattered. From his father. Until it was too late. In the end he learned to live with what he had and who he was and forgave his father for his own peace.

A lot of us can recognize ourselves in this character and maybe others in our lives because we were saddled with the shit our parents put on us, and a lot of us have done the work to dig ourselves out and learn to love ourselves where we're at with what we have.
