Hi Everyone!

This blog is to serve as a sort of journal of media for my Womens and Gender Studies class, Gender in Pop Culture. I’ll be looking at the current culture online of Youtube being a space where online celebrities “come out” to their audiences, and specifically looking at the different reaction and experiences of different genders in this process. 

I’m going to be reblogging posts about coming out, people’s reactions to LGBTQ+ youtubers and their media, and anything that really relates to the topic. I might be posting my own thoughts and reflections on occasion.

I love that they did that, It’s little things like that that make them as great as they are. Google are a 365 billion dollar corporation, and this is really something.

People complaining about Marcus’ book (and the other YouTuber’s books)

Why. Why are you complaining that a popular youtuber is releasing a book? Marcus has 3.6 million subscribers, 2.1 million followers, and a great career.

How dare he release a book for his subscribers! 

How dare he use his outreach in more forms of media! 

How dare he give fans an insight into his life! 

How dare he!

What? Where is the problem? What is wrong with a youtuber venturing into different mediums? Nothing.

No, because to quote Troye “Probably the only thing I don’t share online is relationships.”

- Did Tronnor collab on Valentine’s Day?

- Does Tronnor talk about how they want to travel the world together?

They don’t need to talk about travelling the world because they already are.

- Has Tronnor won a teen choice award? Nope.

No, but luckily that doesn’t have anything to do with the validity of the ship.

- Does Tronnor always talk about how they met?

No, because they don’t need to tell the same story 7 times.

- Do you see how red/shy Tronnor gets when someone mentions Tronnor?

I’d go red too if people kept on mentioning a relationship that I have expressly denied.

- Does Tronnor consider themselves best friends?

They do…  where have you been?

- Did Troye tell people at Amplify a couple days ago that to expect a Tronnor collab?

- Did Troye film his coming out video in Connor’s living room?

No, he filmed it at his house, so that’s irrelevant anyway.

- Did Tronnor kiss multiple times?

No, but last time I checked saying “I’ll only kiss him if you donate 500 thousand dollars.” isn’t exactly a proof of romance. In fact, it’s technically prostitution.

Some corrections 

They never denied troyler directly just blushed and made silly jokes about it therefore avoiding the question.

He filmed his coming out video at tylers house for support.

 the kiss wasn’t prostitution as they said it as a joke, the shippers didn’t actually expect it to happen, however it did in the end.

I also want to point out that the reason tyler isn’t with them could be bc of the whole ‘tronler fight’ thing however that is irrelevant
