Researching small OVA lore details on the TM! Wiki results in a lot of me saying out loud...

"Lord, really?" "Really???????" "REALLY?? Whyyyy?????" "But why is this something????"

Being (somewhat) consistent with the OVA lore was one of my goals while writing Escape because it was important to show that the story of Escape functions within that context.

But each time I'm like "Oh yeah wasn't so-and-so married to so-and-so? Let me double check" and the lore is way way crazier than I think, and just insane to try and write against as a backdrop.

I've always had a note in my head that Escape branches from an alt version of OVA3 and diverges more as taking place after an AU OVA4. I think I just need to fully embrace this and treat tidbits of wiki lore like inspiration, and not cold hard facts.

Oh also yes I have never made a post like this before. With Escape I had the entire story in my head, it came to me almost all at once, over just a few days. I felt like I was being zapped by something outside of me. I have some ideas to continue the story, but now I actually have to create story without a huge otherworldly signal just dumping it into my brain. I gotta work for it.

So maybe I make more posts like this? Idk. Good meeting today. We decided on an arm's length OVA lore policy. Adjourned.

I’m working with a new setup and I’m so tickled by it that I have to post. Before I was stuck at the desk with a tower PC, but now I can setup shop anywhere. Everything here is portable.

I think the only thing Im missing from my desktop setup is being able to put the navigation window on clip studio on the second screen. Since this is an ipad im not sure clip studio is smart enough to do that.

Hi there! I was just curious if you still planned on adding some illustrations to your Escape epilogue, Let's Talk About It? It's no rush at all, your work is more than worth the wait, and of course, I've already read it and I thought it was beautiful. And if you feel like you're done with it now and you'e not really interested or don't have the time or energy to keep working in it, that's completely understandable. But you've got fans who would be very excited to see it if you did.

Hey! I love so much how much my work as impacted you. It really makes me so happy to hear. I am actually on tumblr and thinking about this project like every day, but right now its hard to see a path forward on it.

To pull back the curtain a little bit, I have a new job that is more demanding than ever, and I am now a parent with a son. Neither of those elements were present when I did Escape.

I don’t know what the future holds, but seriously I think about this story every day and squirrel away little notes as ideas come to me. I don’t want to be like “Hey just wait a little longer, it’ll come!” because I actually can’t answer that question right now, but I’m still here always.
