Sex on the Sabbath
A man wonders if having sex on the Sabbath is a sin because he is not sure if sex is work or pleasure. So he goes to a priest and asks for his opinion on this question.
After consulting the Bible, the priest says, "My son, after an exhaustive search, I am positive that sex is work and is therefore not permitted on Sundays".
The man thinks: "What does a priest know about sex"? So he goes to a Lutheran minister, who after all is a married man and experienced in this matter.
He queries the minister and receives the same reply: "Sex is work and therefore not for the Sabbath"!
Not pleased with the reply, he seeks out a Rabbi, a man of thousands of years tradition and knowledge.
The Rabbi ponders the question, then states, "My son, sex is definitely pleasure".
The man replies, "Rabbi, how can you be so sure when so many others tell me sex is work"?
The Rabbi softly speaks, "My son, if sex was work, my wife would have the maid do it".

this is a sea sapphire!! they are tiny little copepods that have the ability to appear to become invisible to the naked eye!! only the males actually have the ability to flash these brilliantly iridescent shades though! the females are simply transparent!
here are some fun articles about them!!
When I first saw a sea sapphire I thought I was hallucinating. The day had been anything but normal, but this part will always stand out. I’
From a shimmery sea mouse to glowing sea turtles, the ocean is full of creatures that light up like the Las Vegas strip.

So….
It’s been a min.
I was told I should get back into my writing and the first place I thought of was here.
I had a rough few… years!?
Needed time to heal and adjust to changes that have happened in my life. Some self reflection, understanding and forgiveness.
My job is still good, not great, but good. I meet people from all over the er the world everyday and come across challenges in tech that somehow still make me happy. Of course there’s the occasional butthead with an attitude, but I find those to be opportunities to turn someone’s frown upside down. Most of the time it works. lol.
My family is thriving. My 2 kids are growing and becoming more comfortable with who they are becoming. My eldest is about to graduate HS, my youngest graduating elementary. They are being rewarded with a trip to Japan later this year! I’m so excited to go.
My paintings are selling again, considering I stopped painting for a while. But I’m slowly moving back into the groove of having a brush in my hand. I felt like I didn’t have much to say in words or in paint, so now it’s just about getting back into it.
Getting back into gaming. I’m flipping back and forth between Seikiro and Detroit become human, both great games. It’s nice to feel the love of gaming again.
I lost someone that was like a dad to me about a year and a half ago. Finally getting through the grief, more or less, but I’m able to function a bit more without feeling the weight of it. Some days are better than others, but more better days than not.
I’m spending time taking care of me. More self care without feeling selfish. Manicures, pedicures, spa days, I even have a trip to Iceland coming up for my birthday. Time to myself to get grounded and reflect on the changes I’ve gone through in the last few years. Very overdue.
My not relationship has blossomed into a beautiful and peaceful one. There’s an understanding there that I’ve never experienced before. We laugh and play, but have serious conversations and check ins. We support each other and have similar goals for the future. He has such a steady hand with me and when I’m anxious or stressed, he talks me through it and wipes my tears. As a Dom, he is firm, but not demanding. He leads with a confidence and an ease that can sometimes feel a bit unsettling. It took some getting used to, but I had to check my baggage and my red flags in order to protect both our peace. He doesn’t mind when I’m a bit bratty because he knows I just want to spend time with him, but he will shut it down in fun ways that make us both happy. We share a birthday, so it’s fun finding out our similarities and differences. In March we make 3 years and so far, I have no regrets. He challenges me, uplifts me and never lets me forget I’m loved and cherished.
I’m looking forward to the year ahead, with all the things I have coming. I’m finally in a good place and selfishly, I love that for me.

So…….
After a long, toxic, narcissistic and one sided (non)relationship I had put an end to the suffering I was going through and took some time to heal. I started talking to a guy that I had a missed opportunity with a long time ago. The relationship was so different and so nice in the beginning, I struggled. My past trauma surfaced in ways I couldn’t anticipate. This man saw my trauma, talked me through it and stayed by my side. I’ve settled into the relationship, less episodes of fear and anxiety. I’m off my meds and everything. It’s nice to have reciprocation. Love, care, loyalty, respect. He has boundaries, respects my boundaries and makes sure not to use my trauma against me. This is what healthy love feels like.
My mistake was trying to maintain a friendship with the last. The complete opposite of what I have now. When he talked down to me. After he yelled at me for beginning to date other people, while he was laying in the bed of another woman, while also living in a different woman house. I spent 5 years of him calling me needy, stupid, dumb, worthless, useless, he had 2 babies on me while we were together. I ate his lies, his torment, his abuse. After I gave him thousands of dollars, went in debt to take care of him. He treated me like shit. Like a toy on the shelf used to alleviate his boredom and elevate his ego. When I had enough and moved on he said I betrayed him, I was “unloyal”.
So after I had enough of him treating me like a piece of garbage, I blocked him everywhere, everywhere except here.
It won’t make a difference because narcissists don’t see what they do, only what you do that they don’t like. All he see is that I moved on and I moved on with someone he doesn’t like.
I’m okay with that. I’m okay with being treated like an asset, treated like a lady, treated like I matter and that I’m smart and beautiful. I’m okay with being happy. I’m okay being loved back.
After his desperate attempt on Friday to convince me that we were unhappy because of me and me telling him that we were better as friends, he did was he does and tried to start a fight. I was done! I blocked him.
Funny thing is, I have informed delivery from usps. Monday I got an alert that a package was coming to me so I checked where it was coming from and immediately knew who it was from.
The package came today and had two games in it.
When I opened it all I could do was laugh.
This is why:
1. Whenever he sent a package to me in the past it had a woman’s name on it. What ever girl he was most serious about at the time. This one had his name on it. So he took the time and the money to send it personally 3 days after I cut him off.
2. Both of the games he sent are hard to find. He picked them up on the cheap from a retro game expo, but they both retail for over $300. He would have hurt me more if he hadn’t sent them at all.
3. Then there was the letter. The bitterness and hypocrisy of the words in the letter were clear.
4. He mailed it in time for me to get it for my birthday.
I’ve never felt more free. I’ve never felt more sure of a decision to leave someone alone. I nearly killed myself to take care of a man, someone that was supposed to be my dominant, someone that said they didn’t believe in aftercare because after they don’t care, only to be called names for my troubles.
He certainly left me better than he found me, because I know my worth now. I’ve learned my boundaries and how to respect them and demand others do as well.
If you’re reading this J, thank you for being the worst decision I ever made, I’m better for it. And you’re not the villain in my story, I pity you too much. ❤️
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!! 🥰

Overcompensate
People often talk about how there is one person that always loves the other more in a relationship. How one person feels it just a bit more, a bit deeper.
Love vs IN love
When those relationships are over, they usually get labeled:
Narcissist
Empaths
Abuser
Victim
User
Used
Heart breaker
Broken hearted
Whatever
Then there’s usually the aftermath. Insecurity, self doubt, self harm, lack of confidence, etc.
But what if your after is overcompensation?
You know you are amazing. You know you are a great person, partner, lover, friend. What if you know the sun rises and sets depending on if you walk in or out of a room.
What if your issue is no one sees it?
You still end up feeling like you have to prove your worth!
Prove how special, unique, awesome.
The sun rising as you walk into a room means nothing to someone wearing a blindfold.
But yet, you try.
And then you try harder.
And harder.
FOR WHAT!?
Then you realize it and begin to learn to stop.
And you meet someone and start all over again.
And end…. All over again.
What happens then when you meet someone that doesn’t need proof? Doesn’t need you to show them who you are, what you are?
What an adjustment….
What a mind fuck….
The damage from the past can present itself in such strange ways, but paying attention to your own behaviors and insecurities and triggers helps you make the proper adjustments.
And when you have a partner that you can confide in, willing to gain understanding, that makes a world of difference.
Too bad the rest of you baggage prevents you from having the conversation in the first place
