does anyone here actually ship Jordan x Daisy, or do they only ship it bc they ship Nick and Gatsby and they feel obliged to ship the two girls together lest they be seen as “overly yaoi focused”(?)

They establish this intimate energy FAR before gatsby even rolls up to the function. natsby isn’t the only homosexuality in this media. (it’s not even the only yaoi!)

While sure, it does mirror the dynamic that Natsby has, but the presentation is completely different because these two are PREESTABLISHED FRIENDS who’ve known each other for YEARS. (In comparison to the like, two months natsby have known one another).

SPEAKING OF THEIR FRIENDSHIP! The concept of Jordan looking up to Daisy in their younger years…. And being present for a lot of very profound, deeply personal moments in Daisy’s life. She completely understands the dynamics of Daisy’s lore from a second or even first point perspective at times. She was literally just like Nick’s role in this book; just along for the ride and actively roped into Daisy’s circumstances all those years ago.

Additionally, you must consider the fact that Jordan’s staying with them while she travels for golf… while it is convenient, it’s just a very particular choice to make writing-wise when there are plenty of loopholes to involve Jordan in the narrative.

If you take a moment to consider: their characters, how they interact to form a relationship, contextualization, and its effects on the story— it’s just bursting with new layers of interpretation. It’s a pretty good pairing!

i actually drew the entire storyboard already on another platform but I didn't know how to import the pictures so I decided to just. Redraw all of them :)

this was an impulse decision since I was bored 4 days ago and I locked in, completing the storyboard in 2.5 days and learning the bare bare bones of blender 2d in the other 0.5 yesterday... 😬
