Ava’s personality is more realistic and enjoyable in My Inner Demons than Aphmau’s, even tho she’s in majority of Jess’ rolepays in this essay i will-
Ima go into detail from this old post and it might be worded weirdly so I apologize ^^
Jess made Aphmau’s personality and somewhat reflect her interest of anime and what the typical female protagonist’s personality would be. Aphmau in Minecraft Diaries and in other series were different than Mystreet Aphmau yet very similar.
Most of Jess’ series needed Aphmau to be an all around sweet characters in order for the story to revolve around her. Aph in Mystreet needed to be someone who sees the good in everyone. She needed to be someone that’s “flawless”. Aph is flawless, and it makes her somewhat of a less-than-interesting character. She’s clumsy, kind, a good-hearted person, innocent, selfless, and has a “tragic past”. We never really see her flaws and if we even do, they’re just pushed under the rug and forgotten.
Ava personality and flaws are much for easier to identify. We know she is kind to people she knows like Misses Oats, her granddaughter, Jake, and to just strangers as well due to manners and such. But her personality is just lazy, dishonest, rude, and really doesn’t give a fuck. Ava doesn’t even have bad life, hell she was adopted into a wealthy family with political power over the city she lives in. She doesn’t really have to worry about money and such due to her fathers loving her very much and willing to help her with her financial situation. She doesn’t have much friends due to her relationship with other people in high school. We can say that Ava was “bullied” but in order to stand up for herself, she needed to be rude as well and later became the bully.
My Inner Demons is a lot less filtered than Mystreet. Although there isn’t much violence, there’s a lot more sex jokes, innuendos, and language in that series. Aphmau was made for a storyline with a lot more action and romance. She was made for a more younger audience and was the product of Jess’ early writing. Ava needed to be constructed for a more mature audience in order for her to fit the show and to be enjoyable for that demographic. Ava’s the product of Jess’ more improved writing.
With that in mind, Ava is fitted to be more realistic due to the fact that we can clearly see her flaws. Mystreet Aphmau’s flaws are a lot more hidden to that we can see the perfect main protagonist she is. I’m not saying “ENJOY AVA CUZ SHES BETTER THAN APHMAU”
