Dan was your average guy but during his childhood he struggled with his weight. He decided to change his life by changing his diet and taking up weight lifting and Freerunning as his new Hobbies. Due to this his health, fitness and overall appearance improved. Even though Dan found the physical side of his new challenge difficult he was able to continue due to the fact that his was mentally strong and motivated and would never give up on his goal. Once he started to see his improvements he began to upload videos to Facebook and YouTube to show his progression in his Freerunning and his Weight Lifting, also he can look back to see how far he has come and use this as support him and keep him motivated to never give up.
When Dan was 9years old he was a member at his local karate club. The music used is a mellow dramatic type of music. Karate was something that he enjoyed doing every week. We put a cover shot of Dan doing his karate over the audio. We used a narrator over this shot as well to describe the parts that Dan did not mention in his interview. Dan was extremely talented at karate and flew through the grades as was awarded is black belt. All the shots are synced perfectly with the music. When Dan was 13 his karate club closed. This is when Dan started his freerunning. At this moment the music changes to a more upbeat type of music. Once the music picks up there is a montage of Dan freerunning.
Dan tells us how he got into powerlifting. Dan got into powerlifting by helping out at a powerlifting competition. From that moment Dan decided that he wanted to train and compete in powerlifting. From that competition he met his trainer. When Dan is talking about this we use interview shots and shots of him setting up the weights and training. Dan also tells us how joining the gym changed his life.
We interviewed Dan’s mum so we could get a different perspective on the extreme sports that Dan does. His mum told us how he feels about what Dan does with his freerunning and powerlifting. She told us that she does not
like it when Dan does his freerunning and that it scares her.
We use a cover shot of the protein mix that Dan takes to help him keep in shape for his competitions. Also we use shots of the different type of food he eats to stay healthy.
Whilst she is talking about this we put cover shots of Dan
doing his freerunning. Dan’s mum also says how proud she
is of Dan with his powerlifting. After Dan’s mums interview
we have a montage of clips of Dan training for his
competition.
After this we have Dan talking about his ambitions a goals in his life. He wants to become well known in the freerunning and powerlifting world. He also wants to travel the world doing his freerunning for many more years. While Dan is talking about this we have more motivational shots of Dan watching the sunset and a time lapse of Dan sitting next to a river.
We ten build up to then end of the video by having a montage of Dan power lifting and freerunning. We use some more inspirational clips of Dan. We cut the clips so that they are in time with the music. Just before the end we have a long shot of Dan doing a handstand on top of a derelict building.
We finish with and inspirational quote from Nelson Mandela.
