Decided this happens when Lenore joins Gen in Banora & kills her own adopted parents as well shortly after learning the horrors her actual mom went through. They removed Lilith from her dead mother’s corpse to use in their newest project, & her adopted parents had a hand in it
It’s super fucked up but I’d like to think that moment between her and Gen was incredibly cathartic and proved to deepen their attachment to each other. Unfortunately at the cost of the home they grew up in. Lilith does eventually regret doing it but only far into the future.
I think it proves to be an emotional test Minerva puts her through. Is she capable of being the second half of Min’s chosen when confronted with her own morals and choices? The most human she’s felt is in that moment with Gen btw. Morally grey fucked up Lilith I love you.

And a Bloodmoon sketch. In an alternate universe where Lilith’s desertion of Shinra happens a lot earlier, she joins Avalanche and eventually ends up finding comfort in Vincent. First wary of each other, and then recognizing enough similarities in their respective traumas to grow close.
In applemoon’s canon, she still becomes close friends w Vincent but nothing grows past that. Their friendship is actually key to her eventually finding Genesis again.
