in some vampire mythology, roses are said to be excellent weapon against vampires: the scent keeps them away, the petals harm them, and a wild rose upon a vampires coffin will trap them there
Apo and Pearl were some of the most determined fighters of the castle vampires. Notably, Pearl seemed strangely immune to witnessing the supernatural occurrences around her for about half the series
despite being an actual hunter of werewolves, the vampires never could find or attack Pearl, even when she was all alone.
Additionally, Apo is probably a major force keeping the humans alive in the final episodes. Most of the vampires were occupied being led on a wild goose chase increasingly alike Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote than killing the humans, and not one of them died while Apo could protect them.
Avid, who used to be someone Apo cared deeply for, betrayed her, and she staked him in turn (with the help of Legs), leaving him heavily weakened and more vulnerable to Owen and Pyro.
Martyn died due to lack of knowledge. Ren do to fear and trauma, and Scott Fucking Goldsmith. (They can never make me like you) Legs died due to sacrifice.
Not to mention that one time Apo probably saved Pearl’s life.
and finally: Apo and Pearl were the only characters to sacrifice their humanity for other people. Apo’s sacrifice was done in desperate hope the vampires wouldn’t turn or harm anyone else, a sacrifice to keep them at bay.
Pearl’s sacrifice is both devastatingly similar and intriguingly opposite. Pearl also sacrifices her humanity so that no one else must suffer that fate…but by doing so, she’s also freeing the vampires from Oakhurst. Only the rose may lift the barrier keeping the vampires of Oakhurst

Should they bone? I mean, PROBABLY NOT, there’s no way it’s ETHICAL, but it WOULD be entertaining. 20-something with a years-old open wound and probably daddy issues x 50-year-old veteran with an insane guilt complex and So Much PTSD. They barely even get along but somehow Avid’s half-dressed on a clinic bed and NOT in an appropriate way. Legundo is tearing himself apart over having sex with a patient meanwhile Avid is trying really hard to be normal about how hot he thinks Doc is and failing miserably.
If vampires were not between them they would have been in a cellar underground doing medical malpractice together. no one has seen them for two weeks, they come out with a cure for Death.
This is another ship that’s so obvious I can’t believe more people don’t ship it. They’re that one meme of the person holding they’re partner on a leash. That scene of Avid telling doc about his scratch!!!!! The whole first half of their episode 6!!! Leg’s reaction to Avid’s death!!! I love the dynamic of very clingy and hyper x constantly annoyed (but lovingly)

V!Avid was excited at the start to get help from V!Legundo to cure him and for Legs to be the first person to belive him that vampires existed.
Most divorced ever and /yet/. Aggravated each other off from the very start, wanted to handle things completely differently. They were in the process of making up. They apologised. There was respect and regard there. Avid betrayed him and was catalyst to his downward spiral. Legs stabbed him and was catalyst to his death. In another world they worked together so well.
whatever they had going on at the beginning of ep 6. "if you give up every little last bit of yourself to save everybody else, there's gonna be nothing left when you go home" AVID IM GOING TO SHAKE YOU. YOU THOUGHT LEGS WOULD GO HOME. YOURE ENCOURAGING ONE OF THE WORLDS MOST SUICIDAL MEN TO BE SELFISH FOR ONCE AND CARE FOR HIMSELF. and then avid TURNS AROUND and BETRAYS THE GUY. takes some of the limited amount of holy water they have. and then turns around and formulates the plan that owen enacts (of turning legs to torture him) like WHAT!!!!!! WHAT‼️‼️‼️ i hate them theyre so. GRRRRRRR. thank you
Divorced toxic yaoi. Literally every interaction they had they acted like they had the NASTIEST breakup five years ago and I am in love with it personally. They're like…literally the exact type of person that each other would hate. Not to mention after Avid turns into a vamp he directly tells the others that Legs would be more tortured if he got turned and was fully advocating for that. Insane behavior I want more

I just think they'd be neat, honestly. Pearl is sympathetic enough to give Apo the time of day, and would absolutely defend her once she knew what actually happened. They're both willing to go on the offensive when sufficiently pushed to (Pearl with Owen and Apo with… a lot of people) and would probably fight really well together

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?
it would make cleo mad and that's funny. um in all seriousness I think if pearl had spoken to apo earlier then she could be on team apo. because I just really want someone on team apo. they're both willing to fight. pearl from what I can gather tries to see the best in people so she might not have been unfair to apo earlier on. they should've killed scott together. I just want apo to be loved and pearl is a legitimately good candidate for this. also now I'm thinking about cleo/pearl/apo where it's pearl and the people she loves very much while cleo is SEETHING. but maybe with pearl on team apo then cleo can get on team apo. eventually
3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
had an apple moon thought about Queen Celestia I wanted to draw out, because I never want her to have like a Nightmare Moon equivalent but I do want some kind of physical change to represent her coming apart close to the end I was thinking something like this. She no longer cares to maintain her physical form and all the colours run together in a plasma-like smear.
