I think i need to set up an actual system since everything has been so overwhelming the last few months and completely killed my communication with people. i haven't been active here at all and the idea of checking my activity gives me anxiety so i just haven't replied to anyone recently and it makes me feel bad. i have such good buddies here but i haven't interacted with any of them and its making me so sad.

i probably will start trying to be active just two days a week, most likely saturday and monday, then we'll see where we go from there. not gonna do anything today though, i just feel really bad mentally still. i\ll see y'all saturday (and sorry for how long you've waited for a response from me)

i absolutely cannot stand the lack of data, studies, and overall academic knowledge or understanding regarding aspd. its by far one of the most "umbrella term"-esque diagnoses in the DSM and its pretty damn clear that 99% of pop and past psychology has no intention of further educating on it. not only is there little scholarly drive to explore the disorder, it's outright just demonized and discredited. and i cant help but feel and know deep down that the next four years won't bring much more knowledge regarding the topic. instead we will see a drastic increase in the throwing around and slap labeling of prominent political figures, fascists, and neonazis with disorders like aspd or npd and terms like psycho/sociopath/narc.

Yo does anyone have a list of real aspd (specifically sociophathic) symptoms that aren't just "omg they're so manipulative and heartless and if you're toxic THEN you count and you can never be a good person if you're a sociopath" bullshit?? I don't want misinformed trash, I want actual factual symptoms of what it is.

I think I'm finally ready to do some personal reflecting that I've put off for years,,,,

Obviously if I think I don't fit the criteria then its whatevs, I would rather question and find out I'm not then never question and always wonder.

Hot take, but cis people have gender identities. They aren't the gender they identify as because of their genitalia or what their birth certificate says. They're only cis because they identify with a gender and it happens to match their government documentation. Cis men aren't men because they're "obviously" men for having a penis. They're men because they identify as men. It's the self-identification that dictates this, not any other factor, even for cis folks. And we should be framing it this way. A cis man identifies as a man and a cis woman identifies as a woman. There is no automatic or inherent gender.

Gonna admit the "this isn't a hot take it's obvious" comments from a dozen or so people are grating on my nerves, so I'm gonna address that.

Just say you've never had an actual conversation with a cis person outside of a very leftist circle lol. Obvious to you. To you, fellow trans person. I wish I got paid every time I had to hear a cis person say they don't have a gender identity or don't "identify" as anything they just "are" a man or a woman.

Sometimes you have to stop and ask yourselves what group of people a post is mainly directed at.

I saw someone on Tumblr once say that they didn't realize they were agender because they just identified as their body and they figured that's what cis meant.

And I think they're right actually. Not for everyone of course! There's people who are very gendered about their cis identity and that's wonderful.

But I think a lot of cis people don't really think of gender as a real thing beyond their anatomy. They don't really think about gender as a mental concept so much as a physical manifestation of life, and build an identity around that, based on the social constructs of their culture. Which tends to primarily be based on mid 20th century western world ideals.

But that's just something I've been turning over in my head for ages.
