It’s heartbreaking that Robby blames himself for Johnny abandoning him. He was an unwanted child whose father abandoned him the day he was born and continued to do so afterward. Whose mother also got fed up of him/gave up on him.

He lives with this belief that no one loves him or wants him because he is a bad and unlovable child. That he is the problem. And no one makes an effort to dispel this belief of his. It only gets reaffirmed further with another parental figure, Daniel, also abandoning him.

And yet, his biggest most defining trait — to the point it is his weakness — is kindness. He wants to help people and be there for them because no one was there for him.
