This came out a little darker than I intended…Point is talking about your feelings before they build up is good!!
Dear Younger Jaclyn,
Why did no on teach you about money?
Dad didn't teach you. Mom didn't teach you. Very expensive private school taught you how to sign a check, but not why to write said check. High school. Well, it was HIGH school.
Here I am, 30 years old. I'm not buried in debt. In fact, debt is a blip on the radar for now. However, I HATE blips. Blips are the same as speed bumps. I hate to sound like an old fogey, but damn, I wish I knew then (when I was 20) what I know now.
I'm a smart cookie. I get it. I get people. I get "the game". I'm a "fool-me-once" kinda cat. So, why did it take me three decades to even put my finger on finance??
I blame no one. I don't blame my parents; I mean, Gosh Darnit, they were busy raising the Magnificent Seven. I don't blame my schooling, I mean, it was the early 2000's... there were no apps, to speak of, facebook was still http://thefacebook.com. It was a weird myspace spinoff... Quite frankly, the world, as we now know it, was very VERY different....
“What’s your greatest fear?” she asks.
“To be forgotten,” I tell her. “But not just that. To be forgotten by a person who I could never forget.“
How today makes me feel.
From my rotting body, flowers shall grow and i am in them and that is eternity.
Love this.

I'll take it!
It is a curious thing, the death of a loved one. We all know that our time in this world is limited, and that eventually all of us will end up underneath some sheet, never to wake up. And yet it is always a surprise when it happens to someone we know. It is like walking up the stairs to your bedroom in the dark, and thinking there is one more stair than there is. Your foot falls down, through the air, and there is a sickly moment of dark surprise as you try and readjust the way you thought of things.

December 5, 1933 - Prohibition ends with the ratification of the Twenty-first Amendment, which repealed the Eighteenth Amendment.
Happy Repeal Day!
A day to celebrate indeed!
My Christmas tree can beat up your Christmas tree.
Considering that virtually none of the standard fare surrounding Thanksgiving contains an ounce of authenticity, historical accuracy, or cross-cultural perception, why is it so apparently ingrained?
