Stand name: Disturbia
Name Sake: Rhianna’s song, Disturbia
Tarot: Two of Cups
Appears as a small, fluffy gray Chimera with spinel - pink eyes, about the size of an American football. She has antler stubs, a fluffy short tail, hooves in the back and paws with sharp claws in the front.
Disturbia manifested when Clara was 9 years old, she’s always been watching over Clara and only became fully tangible when Clara was teleported to the JJBA universe. Disturbia’s powers are mostly fire and darkness based.
This stand is extremely sentient and a reflection of Clara’s soul and trauma, a full amalgamation of her fury at the world and how small, useless and insignificant she feels. Disturbia is very close with Clara and often grounds her, the way a service animal would to its owner. Clara has used Disturbia to commit many atrocities and get away with it, as ordinary people cannot see stands.
Disturbia’s range: irrelevant; extremely precise and search + investigate, very good at sniffing out hidden things as well as reading people’s true intentions. Disturbia is impervious to DIO's The WORLD because Chimera are a paradox of reality themselves.
Original universe: (canon Part 1 - Part 6): In the original reality Clara was Jotaro's nameless wife, for whom Jotaro gave up his soul so that she could reincarnate once again to be with him, thus re-setting the timeline of JJBA. Except Dio ordered Pucci to erase her memories and place her in an alternate reality— because he knew that in another timeline, she’d be his downfall and undo everything had set in place.
As a result, because her soul is tied so deeply to Jotaro and everything that affects him, she's forced to reincarnate in each part over and over until Dio is fully defeated.
[Left: Clara in Erina's old clothes, adopted as her lil sis; Right: Clara on her wedding day, last picture before her tragic death by her husband to be Straizo, he gave her that necklace ]
Clara re-entered the world of JJBA by playing a strange tarot card game her friend had bought from a mysterious seller (this was Pucci). Clara pulls Tower, The Star, The World, Two of Swords, and Two of Cups.
Suddenly a black hole opens between the tarot cards and Clara is sent back to the Victorian era and meets Erina while the former is stranded on a beach, with no memory of where she is from.
The story continues with Clara being adopted by Mr. Pendleton, and later learning she has hamon powers and she gets her stand when she meets Jonathan. The Hamon masters say that she indeed has a strange but unique power.
She makes fast friends with Erina and Jonathan Joestar, even Speedwagon, becoming Erina’s maid of honor.
She absolutely despises Dio, and hates him for what he did to Jonathan and Danny.
Clara even has a deep romance with Straizo that unfortunately ends in her death, he drinks her blood to get her hamon, she feels betrayed and shocked, even though he truly did love her.
Not wanting to kill her — Straizo puts Clara in a stasis by fully draining her hamon, rendering her unconscious, and sealing her stand away.
Following Part 2’s canon timeline. Clara is found once more by the Speedwagon Foundation, he’s astonished to find Clara's tomb. By odd circumstances, Clara regains sentience and is alive again. Not having aged a single day beyond 17.
Speedwagon tearfully embraces her and brings her back home to Erina — who at first thinks she's looking at a ghost. She explains to Clara what happened regarding Straizo, and that Jonathan unfortunately was killed by Dio. Erina is only happy to see her again and welcomes her in a fond embrace.
Clara is a bit heartbroken, she missed so much, but what breaks her the most is Jonathan’s death.
Erina introduces her to her grandson Joseph, who immediately adores her like a little sister. Joseph resembles Jonathan but personality wise he’s anything but, regardless Clara enjoys his company.
They bond over Hamon, the memories she has of Erina when they were both girls, Jonathan, and Clara mentions that she has a power that most people cannot see. Joseph doesn’t find this strange at all but spooks a little when Disturbia steals an apple from the table, as he can only see an apple floating.
Later, Clara and Joseph both head to Italy after the fight with Straizo. Clara delivers the killing blow tearfully because she loved him, but Joseph comforts Clara and says she deserved much better than that leech.
Clara is in a deep state of grief at this point because she didn’t just love Straizo, she trained under him, he mentored her and took her in when she felt like she never belonged anywhere.
In Italy, they meet Caesar Zeppeli, who is instantly charmed by Clara. He agrees to take Joseph to his mentor but only because his sister is so cute and asks nicely. Clara and Caesar enjoy a spaghetti dinner.
Clara, Joseph, and Caesar eventually encounter the Pillar Men beneath the Colosseum: Kars, Esidisi and Wamuu. They realize that these beings are on an entirely different level from anything they have encountered before.
Wamuu challenges Joseph and places a poison ring around his aorta, giving him a limited amount of time to become strong enough to defeat him and obtain the antidote. Esidisi later places another poison ring around Joseph’s windpipe, making the situation even more dangerous.
Joseph and Caesar begin training under Lisa Lisa in Venice. Clara trains alongside them, continuing to develop her Hamon and her Stand abilities.
Clara becomes very close with Caesar, even developing a crush on him despite being a little jaded from her break up with Straizo. Caesar becomes extremely protective of Clara as well, especially after learning everything she has already suffered through.
The story continues along the canon path with the fights against the Pillar Men. Esidisi is defeated by Joseph, and Kars continues pursuing the Red Stone of Aja.
Caesar eventually confronts Wamuu. Clara refuses to simply stand by and let Caesar throw his life away. Disturbia helps her locate him, and Clara intervenes before Caesar's fate can become the same as it was in the original timeline.
Later Caesar and Clara go on a little date, he uses his bubble hamon to form a large sphere around them and float above all of Rome, it's a beautiful view. Clara is besotted by him, but is hesitant to admit her feelings.
After everything that happens, Clara realizes that she doesn’t want Joseph, the man who’s like the only older brother she’s ever had, to be killed by these monsters, as attractive as they are — and she also refuses to let Caesar be sacrificed. Caesar's survival changes the course of the final confrontation with the Pillar Men.
Along the way Clara falls deep and hard for Kars. He has the power she's craved all along. She's tired of being weak and helpless.
Kars fascinates Clara because he possesses everything she has always felt she lacked: overwhelming strength, confidence, intelligence, control and the ability to make the entire world bend around him. In turn, he's also fascinated by Clara -- she is unlike any human he has encountered, possessing both Hamon and a strange, completely sentient Stand that doesn't seem to follow the normal rules of reality.
Eventually Clara offers herself to Kars in exchange for Joseph and Caesar’s lives.
Kars, naturally, is amused by this. Rather than simply killing her or accepting her offer immediately, he proposes a challenge: A race. The winner gets Clara.
Joseph attempts to interfere and immediately becomes such an unbearable nuisance that Kars has him placed inside a literal cage during the proceedings and he spends most of the time yelling at everyone.
The final confrontation becomes a race for Clara’s hand, with Caesar participating as one of the challengers. Joseph is kept safely out of the way because everyone has collectively decided that letting him loose would make the situation approximately one thousand times worse.
Despite the absurdity of the situation, Clara takes the challenge seriously. She knows that Kars is still one of the most dangerous beings on Earth, and that Caesar is risking his life for her.
The race becomes a battle of Hamon, strength, strategy and Stand abilities, with Clara ultimately becoming the prize neither side is willing to surrender.
Clara's feelings for Kars continue becoming deeper and more complicated as the battle progresses. She knows he is capable of atrocities. And yet she cannot deny the attraction she feels toward him, especially because Kars represents the very thing she has spent her entire life craving: Power.
Eventually the winner is declared: Caesar, but Caesar says that it should be Clara's choice who she really wants, much to Caesar's heartbreak, Clara picks Kars. Joseph is shocked by her choice, but Clara tries to explain it to him, after she becomes Kars' queen she'll make sure they survive and make a world where they can all live together.
Soon, Kars and Clara are to be wed. Clara is dressed up by the other pillar men and of course Suzie Q. Caesar's heart is crushed but he knows that Clara's choice matters more.
Kars returns Clara's feelings, and they wed that night under the full moon. Clara has deep guilt inside her, because deep down she also loves Caesar.
But as always, fate had another bizarre twist for Clara --
Long after Kars becomes the Ultimate Being, he not only possesses the abilities of every creature on Earth, but also develops the ability to perceive the fate of others—glimpsing their pasts, futures, and alternate presents.
By observing the possible futures that lie ahead, Kars discovers that their reality is a parallel timeline. In another timeline, he was defeated and launched into space, where he remained frozen and helpless for eternity. Having witnessed this terrible fate for himself, Kars realizes that Clara's existence is tied to something far greater than either of them.
And since Clara and Kars are bonded not merely by marriage, but by their souls, Kars eventually learns to take the form of Disturbia herself. Through this connection, he gains a unique way of interacting with the threads of fate surrounding Clara and those closest to her.
Kars eventually asks Clara if she remembers ever coming to this world at all—if she remembers how she arrived here, or anything about the life she may have lived before it. For once, Clara has no answer.
The question leaves her unsettled. She has always carried the strange feeling that something about her existence is incomplete, as though there are memories just beyond her reach. But no matter how hard she searches her mind, there is nothing she can grasp.
Kars, however, can see what Clara cannot.
He uses his newfound abilities to alter the course of events that would have followed near the end of Battle Tendency, ensuring that history does not simply repeat itself.
Caesar, who had already survived his battle with Wamuu thanks to Clara's intervention, is allowed to continue living a full human life rather than meeting the fate he was originally destined for. He eventually grows old and dies peacefully, still younger than Joseph, but having lived far beyond the life he should have had.
In this altered timeline, everyone Clara fought so desperately to protect survives. Joseph lives. Caesar lives. The people she loves are spared the deaths that should have awaited them.
But fate demands a price: Clara disappears.
She is reported dead or missing, leaving no trace behind. To everyone who knew her, it appears that Clara has sacrificed herself so that the others could live.
Erina had already endured the heartbreak of losing Jonathan, and she had already lost Clara once before, when she believed her dead after Straizo's betrayal. Now, decades later, she is forced to mourn her all over again.
It feels cruelly familiar. Another time, another loss, another young woman she had loved as family suddenly taken from her.
Joseph is devastated as well. Clara had become like a little sister to him, and despite all their teasing, bickering, and Joseph's constant attempts to protect her, he loved her deeply. Her disappearance leaves him with a grief he cannot easily hide behind his usual humor and bravado. For once, there is no clever remark or outrageous stunt to distract him from the reality that the person he considered family is gone.
Lisa Lisa and Speedwagon are heartbroken too. They had watched Clara grow from a young girl into a skilled Hamon user and had come to regard her as one of their own. Her disappearance leaves a painful emptiness among those who had fought beside her.
But Caesar is perhaps the most deeply affected of all.
He had loved Clara, even knowing that her heart had ultimately chosen Kars. He had respected her decision and remained grateful simply to have survived long enough to see her happy. He can't help but grieve the life they could have had together. He wanted to have the happy ending with her, a house, kids, and everything.
The Pillar Men have vanished without a trace.
As Clara's soul-bound mate, Kars understands that he would be irresponsible to ignore her ultimate destiny. As much as he looks forward to ruling this world alongside his queen, he accepts that her fate is part of something far greater than either of them.
Time moves forward as it always does. Clara is newly reincarnated with no memories of her past. Her life goes as usual, but this time, her Stand is with her since birth: Disturbia, something she calls her “imaginary friend come to life.” Her Stand also aided her in killing her abusive birth parents.
Her adoptive parents, Nicole and Alan*, accepted her imaginary friend, even though they couldn't see her. Still, Clara longed for a real friend, someone who would understand her. She often felt like an outcast and was isolated by the so-called people who were supposed to be her friends. Her best friend eventually left her for a boyfriend, leaving Clara all alone. Clara vowed to only stay with Disturbia and no one else.
But fate had another twist planned for her, and this time, it didn't involve any reality bending.
Her adoptive parents, who owned a tourist agency, were moving to Japan for work for quite a while. Clara was only twelve here.
Clara did not like moving to Japan.
Everything was so different from what she was used to. She hated having to wear a school uniform, and learning Japanese was another challenge entirely. So many things were a huge culture shock for her, and once again, Clara felt like a fish out of water. She wasn't a fan of how there were hardly any pizza places or western foods that she loved so much. She wasn't a fan of ramen either.
Then, in eighth grade, she met Kakyoin.
Clara still had to attend classes, but because she was taking Japanese lessons, she was allowed to take assignments from her American school home and complete them in English. Her head teacher asked Kakyoin to tutor her, and he was perfectly fine with it.
The two bonded surprisingly quickly after realizing that they both had their own “imaginary friends.”
Clara was absolutely delighted. For the first time, she had found someone who understood what it was like to have a strange companion that nobody else could see. But Clara and Kakyoin had more than just their Stands in common. They both loved video games, arcades, and other things, and Clara especially loved that Kakyoin had a backbone. He wasn't afraid to stand up for her when the other mean kids in class bullied her.
The two even went on little crime sprees together, such as cheating in class and using their Stands to steal small amounts of cash.
For Clara, it was a completely different experience from what she had gone through before. She finally had someone she could relate to, and their friendship gave her a sense of belonging she hadn't felt in years.
Two isolated kids had finally found common ground with each other.
Kakyoin's parents were simply relieved that their son had finally found a friend, even if he was spending quite a lot of time with her.
The story now skips ahead to the events of Part 3. Clara and Kakyoin have continued attending school together, but their ordinary lives are about to change.
Kakyoin travels to Egypt, where he encounters DIO and several other Stand users. DIO takes an immediate interest in him and implants a Flesh Bud into his head, placing Kakyoin under his control.
Meanwhile, Clara travels back to the United States to visit her friends. By the time she returns to Japan, Kakyoin has already returned from Egypt—but something about him is different.
Kakyoin tells Clara about the people he met in Egypt who also had strange beings like theirs. He explains that these beings are actually called “Stands,” and that the two of them have been Stand users all along without knowing the proper term for them.
Clara is immediately curious. For years, she had simply thought of Disturbia as her imaginary friend come to life, so learning that there is an actual name for what they have, and that there are other people like them, is fascinating to her.
Kakyoin is excited to finally show Clara that they aren't alone anymore, even though he doesn't tell her that DIO has implanted a Flesh Bud into his head and is controlling him.
But DIO already knows exactly who Clara is, and he's immediately alarmed by the realization that she is alive again. Clara isn't a stranger or some newly discovered Stand user to him. She is someone he has encountered before, someone whose existence should have belonged to another lifetime.
DIO becomes determined to have Clara brought to him as well. Whatever Clara's connection to this strange cycle of reincarnation may be, he has no intention of simply letting her slip away again and wants to kill her off for good.
Then Clara notices Jotaro, who is already a student at the school her and Kakyoin have transferred to. She takes one look at him and isn't impressed at all, wondering who the hell this guy even is before going back to Kakyoin. She rolls her eyes at the girls fawning over him, wondering why women are drawn to jerks so much.
Little does she know that this man will soon be the key to changing her very fate.
Then, during Kakyoin's confrontation with Jotaro, he asks Clara to join him. Clara is shocked by what she sees, but she refuses to let her best friend be hurt. When Kakyoin attacks Jotaro with Hierophant Green, Clara summons Disturbia and has her Stand bite Jotaro. Jotaro retaliates by punching Clara hard enough to send her flying.
Clara is left stunned by what just happened, while Kakyoin is caught between DIO's orders and his genuine concern for his best friend. What began as a confrontation between two Stand users has now become something much bigger, because DIO has realized that Clara has returned to his world once again, and could possibly defeat him this time.
Clara rushes Kakyoin to the nurse's office to get him out of there. Jotaro was far too powerful, and she couldn't afford to waste more energy here.
Clara was getting ready to go home from school when she received a call from Nicole. Her mother sounded worried. One of her old college friends, Holly Kujo, had suddenly become very sick, and the doctors feared that she could die.
Nicole immediately went to visit Holly, and Clara went with her. When they arrived at the Kujo household, Clara was surprised by how sick Holly looked. She stayed with her mother and helped care for Holly for several hours. Eventually, once Holly had settled down and Nicole was satisfied that she was resting comfortably, the two of them decided to head home. Clara left without knowing that anything else unusual was about to happen.
Joseph used Hermit Purple to take a spirit photograph of DIO. The image developed, and he immediately began examining it. Among the distorted images produced by his Stand, however, he noticed something that made him stop.
Among the distorted images was a familiar face: Clara.
Joseph stared at the photograph in disbelief. He had spent years with Clara during the Battle Tendency era. She had trained alongside him, fought beside him, and become like a little sister to him. He remembered her grief over Straizo, her relationship with Caesar, her bizarre marriage to Kars, and the heartbreak that followed when she mysteriously disappeared.
He couldn't understand how Clara could possibly be here, especially when she had disappeared long ago and had never aged. Or was his mind playing tricks on him? Or was Dio behind this as well?
Joseph stared at the photograph before suddenly looking around the room. “Wait. Holly, do you know this girl?”
Holly looked confused by the question. She explained that Clara was a new girl at Jotaro's school and that she had visited earlier with her mother, Nicole, who was an old college friend of hers. She had already gone home.
Joseph explained that he knew Clara—really knew her. He had met her decades ago, during his youth, and she had become like a little sister to him. She had fought alongside him against the Pillar Men.
Avdol then explained that reincarnation was not something he considered impossible. In some cultures, souls were believed to return when they still had unfinished business in the world. Clara's strange disappearance and sudden reappearance could perhaps be one such case.
Joseph was still struggling to believe it until he pulled out an old photograph of Clara and Erina. Avdol looked from the old photograph to the image produced by Hermit Purple, even he was stunned, it was indeed the same girl.
The two soon recollect their bearings and realize that DIO is up to his old tricks again and they need to get the bottom of this. They go to the nurse’s office at the school and meet Kakyoin who is accompanied by Clara and a very angry Disturbia.
Stardust Crusaders, Clara the 7th Stand User
Upon arriving at the nurse's office, Avdol and Joseph are immediately greeted by the sight of the nurse collapsed on the floor. However, it quickly becomes clear that it is a trap. Kakyoin has used Hierophant Green to control the nurse, and just as he is about to attack Avdol and Joseph, Jotaro steps in.
Jotaro grabs the nurse and realizes that Kakyoin's Stand is hiding inside her. He pulls Hierophant Green out through the nurse's mouth by kissing her, following the usual events of the original timeline.
Then he realizes that Kakyoin has been controlled by DIO and discovers the Flesh Bud implanted in his head. Using Star Platinum's incredible precision, he carefully removes the Flesh Bud, freeing Kakyoin from DIO's control.
However, before anyone can react, Disturbia suddenly lunges at Jotaro. Star Platinum immediately intercepts her, sending her flying backward. Clara is caught in the backlash and crashes into the wall, clutching her side as the impact fractures one of her upper ribs. Disturbia quickly scrambles back to Clara's side, hissing furiously at Jotaro and refusing to leave her.
Jotaro looks between Clara and Kakyoin, now convinced that something is seriously wrong. Kakyoin had been controlled by DIO, Clara had already attacked him twice, and now her Stand had attacked him as well. As far as Jotaro knows, DIO has somehow taken control of her too.
He moves toward Clara, preparing to strike her, but Kakyoin suddenly steps in front of her protectively. Having just been freed from DIO's control, he immediately realizes what is happening and refuses to let Jotaro hurt his best friend.
Kakyoin keeps his eyes on Jotaro for a moment before glancing back at Clara. His expression softens when he sees her clutching her injured side, with Disturbia still hovering protectively beside her.
First, he quietly apologizes to Clara. He knows that his actions had put her in danger, along with Joseph and Avdol, and that she had been dragged into a situation she never should have been involved in. Although he had been under DIO's control, he still feels responsible for what happened.
Clara accepts his apology, understanding that he had not been acting of his own free will. She is still shaken by everything that happened, but she knows Kakyoin was a victim too.
Once the immediate tension has settled, Kakyoin begins explaining everything to Joseph, Avdol, and Jotaro.
He tells them about his trip to Egypt, his encounter with DIO, and the Stand users he met along the way. He explains that DIO had implanted the Flesh Bud in his head and used it to control him, forcing him to attack Jotaro and anyone else who stood in his way.
Kakyoin also explains what he knows about DIO's plans and the growing number of Stand users working under him. Clara listens carefully, occasionally filling in details from what she experienced herself.
As Kakyoin continues, the seriousness of the situation becomes increasingly clear. DIO is alive, he has gathered Stand users around him, and Holly's mysterious illness is somehow connected to him.
Once Kakyoin finishes explaining everything, Joseph realizes that they need somewhere private to discuss what comes next.
The group leaves the school together and heads to the Kujo residence. Clara comes along with them, still nursing her injured rib, while Disturbia remains close by her side. For the first time, all of them are finally gathered in one place, and the truth about DIO's return is beginning to come together.
But, Clara is extremely confused, she has no clue who DIO is and why he's targeting stand users, Joseph realizes that this isn't the right time as much as he aches to tell her that she’s the spitting image of his adopted sister -- still she's excited to meet other stand users, and expresses deep enthusiasm with Avdol's Magician Red, the latter is quite pleased with her upbeat nature.
Eventually everyone gathers around Holly's bedside, where Joseph and Avdol explain the situation to Clara and Kakyoin.
DIO's awakening had caused the Joestar bloodline to awaken as well. Holly had developed a Stand of her own, but unlike the others, she had no desire to fight and lacked the temperament necessary to control it. As a result, her Stand had begun overwhelming her body instead.
They only have 50 days to find DIO. Because if he remained alive, Holly's condition would continue to worsen until it killed her. Clara stares at Holly in disbelief, slowly processing everything she has just been told.
“Wh... what? Stands can hurt their users?”
She glances down at Disturbia, who was sitting comfortably beside her.
“Sure glad Disturbia isn't like that.”
Jotaro, sitting nearby with his usual bored expression, glances toward the little chimera.
“Not all Stands are cuddly kittens.”
Clara immediately turns toward him.
“Well, maybe you should be grateful yours isn't. Your Stand kept you company in prison, didn't it? You should be thanking it for helping you stay entertained and sane instead of acting like it's some kind of demon.”
Jotaro raises an eyebrow, but Clara isn't finished.
“And you should be nicer to your mother while you're at it. She's sick, she's worried about you, and you keep calling her a bitch! If I talked like you did to my mom she'd kick my ass to here and mars!"
Jotaro stares at her, completely stunned. For once, he has absolutely nothing to say. Avdol blinks and clear his throat. Joseph smirks softly, oh yes, he's certain its Clara now. Kakyoin agrees with her, and states bluntly that he'd want a woman as pleasant as Holly. Clara laughs.
As the crusaders depart for their journey towards Egypt, Clara insists she’s coming too. At first Holly is concerned but Avdol says he already lied to Clara’s parents that he’s a counselor and he’s taking them to a camp for Troubled Teens — much to the latter’s relief they bought the story. Throughout the trip Clara asks many questions, Jotaro is annoyed, and much to Joseph’s surprise she’s had Disturbia her entire life.
Over time, Jotaro actually starts to respect Clara a little, she's not just a loudmouth kid who has a cute stand-- she helps them defeat many dangerous Stand users, her and Disturbia are like a well oiled machine.
When the group eventually meets Polnareff, he is immediately condescending toward Clara and makes the unfortunate mistake of assuming that Disturbia isn't capable of protecting her. He learns otherwise very quickly.
After making a disparaging remark about Clara's Stand, Polnareff suddenly receives a sharp bite on the rear from an extremely offended Disturbia. Clara simply watches in amusement as Polnareff yelps in surprise -- he underestimated the fluffy creature, a mistake he is bound to never make again.
Polnareff is defeated soundly by Red Magician along with some help from Disturbia. He joins the Crusaders and Clara gains a lot of respect for him after learning that he's out to kill his sister's rapist.
The journey continues, and Clara also becomes increasingly close with Polnareff and Avdol, while her friendship with Kakyoin continues to strengthen. She and Kakyoin often work together during battles, their years of knowing one another allowing them to coordinate almost instinctively. Joseph, meanwhile, becomes increasingly amused by how naturally Clara has integrated herself into the group.
When the Crusaders encounter Rubber Soul, Clara becomes suspicious of his disguise before anyone else. Although she cannot immediately identify him as an impostor, Disturbia senses that his intentions do not match his appearance. Her warning helps the others realize that something is wrong, and Jotaro eventually exposes Rubber Soul.
Clara found herself wanting to spend more and more time with Jotaro, she thought that perhaps, the heat was getting to her.
As they cross the Red Sea and eventually reach Egypt, Clara finds herself strangely excited despite everything they have endured. She has spent most of her life feeling like an outsider, but for the first time, she has found a group of people who accept her exactly as she is.
Much to Clara's complete obliviousness, Jotaro has begun to feel the same way. He finds himself oddly protective of her, giving her his jacket when it's freezing at night. Even Avdol notices how Star Platinum and Disturbia became fast friends long before Jotaro and Clara exchanged a friendly word at all.
Clara helps defeat formidable enemies, especially the Lovers and High Priestess. The former where she beat him to a pulp for hurting Jotaro, stunning him, he wasn't used to a girl being so merciless.
However, during the fight with Mannish Boy (Death 13) Clara was so certain that Jotaro had rescued her from her nightmares -- Clara thanked him profusely, but he had no such recollection. Kakyoin did though, he said that maybe her and Jotaro have a deeper bond than she expected.
Little did Clara know this was only the beginning...
On one particular evening, the Stardust Crusaders had time to relax for once, Avdol knew there was going to be a mass desert storm happening so they hunkered down in their tents (now all joined) for the night -- with Jotaro in his private corner smoking.
Avdol decides to lighten the mood up with some tarot and do love readings, Polnareff is particularly enthusiastic and gets a reading, then Kakyoin, and finally Clara. Jotaro rolls his eyes saying it's stupid.
As Avdol is doing Clara's reading, he does the classic 6 cards spread
Past: what shaped her approach to love
Present: where her heart is now
Hidden feelings: what she hasn't recognized
The obstacle: what's preventing the relationship from unfolding
The other person's feelings: what the potential partner feels
Destiny: where the connection is ultimately heading
He pulls the following cards: The Star, The Emperor, Two of Cups, Strength, the Hanged Man, and ... the Lovers and explains to her what they mean, it's a good sign! Destined love and fate will bring him to her.
Clara is delighted and squeals, being the secret hopeless romantic she is. Kakyoin then asks what her favorite type of guy is, Clara talks about how he must have blue eyes, be tall, have a backbone, and be willing to kick ass for her. Everyone slowly turns to face Jotaro who's ignoring the group and still smoking like a chimney. Clara had unknowingly described Jotaro.
The storm passes and the group presses on, finally reaching Abu Simbel, Egypt. They are soon approached by several suspicious-looking men in suits, but Joseph recognizes them immediately. They are members of the Speedwagon Foundation, a company that has long helped the Joestar family.
One of the men turns to Clara and accidentally begins to say, “Good afternoon, Mrs. Kuj-” before his colleague quickly jabs him in the ribs. Clara thankfully doesn't hear him, as she's presently occupied with the newest member of their team: Iggy.
Clara is stunned to learn that Iggy has his own Stand, The Fool. She didn't know that animals could have Stands too!
Iggy, however, is much more interested in Disturbia. Her fluffy, puppy-like appearance catches his attention, and the two quickly hit it off. Clara finds it absolutely hilarious when Iggy farts directly in Polnareff's face, and she immediately decides she likes him. Its even more amusing than his coffee gum addiction.
The Speedwagon Foundation then warns them that there are nine Stand users waiting for them in Egypt, with some scattered throughout the desert and others positioned deeper into the country.
The Crusaders now know that DIO's forces are waiting for them, and their journey is about to become even more dangerous.
Now that Clara and the Crusaders finally reached Egypt, they made their way deeper into the country, knowing that DIO's Stand users are waiting for them somewhere ahead. The desert is vast and unforgiving, and after the warning from the Speedwagon Foundation, everyone remains on high alert.
It isn't long before something feels wrong.
Disturbia is the first to notice it. Her ears perk up, her fur bristles, and she immediately becomes suspicious of their surroundings. Iggy notices it too, becoming unusually alert as he sniffs the air and watches the sand around them.
The Crusaders soon find themselves under attack by N'Doul and his Stand, Geb. The Stand moves through the sand and water with frightening speed, making it difficult to determine where the attacks are coming from. Despite their efforts, N'Doul manages to land a devastating blow on Kakyoin, severely injuring him.
Clara freezes upon seeing her cherished friend fallen and be completely still.
For a moment, she simply stares at Kakyoin, barely able to process what she is seeing. Her best friend is lying wounded because of this enemy.
Then Disturbia changes, alongside Clara.
Her pink eyes suddenly flare into a vicious, glowing yellow, her fur standing on end as an almost feral rage overtakes her. Clara's own expression hardens as she realizes that something inside her has snapped.
Disturbia doesn't need to be told what to do, she springs herself toward N'Doul with absolutely no hesitation.
And Clara does not give a damn that N'Doul is blind, he has attacked her friends. He has seriously injured Kakyoin. That's all she needs to know.
When Disturbia finally locates him, she clamps her jaws down hard on N'Doul's leg, making him stagger before immediately attempting to claw at his face. Her claws come dangerously close to his eyes before N'Doul manages to defend himself.
The others are stunned by the sheer ferocity of the attack -- Disturbia is trying to KILL him.
Clara barely manages to keep control as Disturbia snarls and thrashes, preparing to engulf N'Doul in flames. The little chimera is completely consumed by Clara's fury, ready to burn the enemy alive for what he did to Kakyoin. Even Jotaro is taken aback.
He already knew Disturbia was dangerous, but this is different. The normally fluffy little chimera has become an absolutely vicious predator, acting on Clara's rage with terrifying precision.
Iggy, meanwhile, seems to understand exactly what is happening. He keeps his distance, watching Disturbia with wide eyes as though he has just discovered that the fluffy creature he had been playing with is actually a terrifying monster.
Nonetheless, Iggy and Jotaro manage to defeat a very injured N'doul off while Avdol, Joseph and Polnareff (somehow) hold Clara back.
N'doul smiles, impressed by Clara's ferocity and takes his own life using his Stand, his duty to DIO done.
After the battle with N'Doul, the Crusaders make their way to the hospital in Cairo, where Kakyoin is immediately taken into surgery. The severity of his injuries leaves everyone shaken, but Clara takes it especially hard. She refuses to leave the hospital room, sitting nearby while the doctors work and Disturbia stays curled tightly against her side.
The guilt begins eating away at her.
Clara starts wondering if she is actually strong enough to be part of the Crusaders at all. She has a powerful Stand, she has fought alongside them, and she has managed to defeat dangerous Stand users, but none of that matters to her now. Her best friend had nearly died right in front of her, and she hadn't been able to protect him.
Realizing how fragile it all was, Clara began to break down a bit, maybe she wasn't fully invincible, she couldn't protect everyone, for the first time she started to doubt herself -- she got into a small fight with Joseph and Polnareff, demanding that if they had let her kill N'doul maybe Kakyoin wouldn't be hospitalized like this.
Eventually, her frustration boils over into an argument with the others. Clara lashes out, insisting that she isn't strong enough to be useful to the group and that she should have been able to stop N'Doul from hurting Kakyoin. Polnareff quickly realizes that this is not the moment to provoke her, especially after seeing what Disturbia did during the battle. Even Iggy keeps his distance, watching the little chimera warily.
Avdol, however, manages to calm her down. He reminds Clara that Kakyoin survived, that she did everything she could during the battle, and that blaming herself won't change what happened. Clara eventually quiets down, though she still struggles with the feeling that she should have done more.
Before the Crusaders leave Cairo, Clara visits Kakyoin one last time, holding him tightly and sobbing. She admits that she doesn't want to leave him behind, but Kakyoin reassures her that he will recover and that she has somewhere else she needs to be, but most importantly she did not fail him. DIO is still out there, Holly is still dying, and the Crusaders cannot afford to stop.
Kakyoin reminds Clara that joining them was not a mistake.
She has spent her entire life searching for somewhere she belongs, and now she has found people who need her. He tells her that it is her destiny to continue with the others and help bring DIO down.
Clara reluctantly accepts his words. Before leaving, she promises Kakyoin that she will make DIO suffer for everything he has done to them. And with that they all march onward.
However, Iggy eventually wanders away from the group, as selfish and independent as ever. The others barely have time to notice before Disturbia suddenly stops in her tracks. Her ears perk up as she catches a scent that doesn't belong, and without waiting for Clara's command, she takes off after it.
Iggy has unknowingly crossed into Pet Shop's territory. The vicious falcon attacks without warning, and Iggy desperately summons The Fool to defend himself. Pet Shop quickly gains the upper hand, trapping Iggy and preparing to deliver the killing blow.
Then a burst of hellfire tears across the sand. Disturbia launches herself between them, engulfing the area in flames as Pet Shop narrowly escapes the attack. Her pink eyes burn a vicious yellow as she bares her teeth at the falcon, placing herself directly between Iggy and his attacker. Iggy stares at her in disbelief; the fluffy little Stand he had been playing with has just thrown herself into the middle of a fight to save him.
Disturbia immediately gives chase, tracking Pet Shop through the desert with frightening precision. She follows every disturbance in the sand and every trace of his scent, hunting him like prey. For the first time, Iggy realizes that the little chimera isn't simply cute.
She's an apex predator who's decided he's worthy of her protection... but she does huff at him, implying she isn't always gonna come to his rescue and he better toughen up.
Several days passed after the battle with Pet Shop. Kakyoin remained under the care of the Speedwagon Foundation doctors while his eyes recovered, but his condition steadily improved, and he was eventually well enough to return to the Crusaders in Cairo.
Clara had been trying not to dwell on how much she missed him. She had grown close to everyone during the journey, especially Jotaro, Joseph, Avdol, and Polnareff, but Kakyoin was different. He had been her best friend long before either of them understood what Stands were, and his absence had left a noticeable emptiness beside her.
The moment Clara saw him again, she rushed over and threw her arms around him, hugging him tightly. She was practically glowing with relief, while Disturbia happily pressed herself against Kakyoin's legs and nuzzled him. Clara immediately began fussing over him, checking his eyes and making sure he was genuinely feeling better.
Jotaro watched the reunion from nearby, feeling an uncomfortable tightness in his chest. He couldn't understand why seeing Clara hug Kakyoin bothered him. Kakyoin was her best friend, and they had known each other for years; of course she would be happy to see him again. There was no reason for Jotaro to care, yet he found himself strangely irritated by how naturally affectionate Clara was with Kakyoin. He quickly dismissed the feeling and looked away, refusing to examine it any further.
Clara was just happy to have the gang back again.
Iggy wandered ahead of the group and continued through the streets of Cairo with unusual purpose. Disturbia noticed and followed him, with Clara soon realizing that he appeared to know exactly where he was going. The others followed until Iggy eventually stopped in front of a massive mansion hidden away from the surrounding city.
They had found DIO's home.
The atmosphere immediately became oppressive. Joseph's expression hardened as he sensed that DIO was nearby, while Clara stared at the mansion with an inexplicable feeling of unease. Disturbia's fur stood on end, her ears lowering as she stared toward the entrance. She seemed less curious than usual and far more alert, as though something about the building itself disturbed her.
Clara rested a hand against her fur, quietly reassuring her before the group entered.
Inside, the mansion was eerily quiet. A long hallway stretched before them, and the Crusaders cautiously moved deeper into the building until a man emerged from the darkness. He introduced himself as Terence T. D'Arby, the younger brother of Daniel J. D'Arby and one of DIO's servants. Rather than immediately attacking them, Terence challenges the group to a series of video games, wagering their souls on the outcome.
Joseph is immediately horrified when Jotaro admits that he doesn't know how to play video games. He cannot believe that a teenage boy could possibly have spent his entire life without learning how to play them, especially when the situation has now escalated into a literal life-or-death gaming competition.
Clara, meanwhile, is far more interested in the challenge. She has spent years playing arcade games and old video games with Kakyoin, and unlike Jotaro, she actually knows what she's doing. Terence quickly realizes that she could pose a serious threat, so he attempts to exploit the rules of his Stand, Atum, to read her intentions.
However, Clara's connection with Disturbia gives her an unusual advantage. Her tarot-based abilities have continued developing alongside her Stand, and the Two of Cups allows Disturbia to establish a temporary exchange of knowledge between two willing or connected Stand users. The catch is that Disturbia needs some form of defensive support while maintaining the connection.
Fortunately, Star Platinum is more than capable of providing it.
Jotaro and Disturbia work together to protect Clara while she establishes the connection, allowing her to transfer her knowledge of the game directly to Jotaro. For a brief moment, their Stands operate almost like extensions of one another, with Star Platinum guarding Disturbia while Clara effectively gives Jotaro the knowledge he needs to compete.
He is still bewildered by the experience, but he quickly adapts. Clara is equally surprised by how naturally their Stands cooperate, especially considering how hostile their first encounters had been.
The resulting confrontation follows the same general course as the original battle, with Terence eventually realizing that Jotaro has been bluffing about his confidence and abilities. Jotaro ultimately defeats him, forcing Terence to surrender and revealing that DIO's mansion contains far more dangerous enemies than the Crusaders initially anticipated.
Clara, however, takes away something more important from the encounter.
For the first time, she and Jotaro have deliberately combined their abilities rather than simply fighting alongside one another. Their Stands seem almost instinctively compatible, and even Disturbia appears pleased by the cooperation.
Jotaro doesn't comment on it.
He simply finds himself thinking about how easily Clara trusted him to protect her while she connected their abilities together—and how much he trusted her to do the same.
The Crusaders made one final stop before properly challenging DIO, taking advantage of the opportunity to rest and cool off before entering the mansion. The heat had become unbearable, and while everyone else tried to relax, Jotaro found himself increasingly distracted by Clara.
He couldn't get her off his mind. Her eyes, her voice, even the way she laughed seemed to linger in his thoughts no matter how hard he tried to ignore them, her eyes almost reflected a blue light in the sun, resembling the sparkling ocean.
Eventually, he decided that the heat must be affecting him and approached Avdol with a strange question about whether there was a cure for a siren's spell, thinking that maybe Clara really had put a spell on him-- with all the shit they had encountered it wouldn't be out of the question.
Avdol was bewildered by the question and reminded him that there were no sirens in the desert. Jotaro clarified that he knew that, but there was one who had been pulling him in and drowning him with her eyes and her voice.
Joseph immediately understood what Jotaro was talking about and began snickering, while Avdol soon caught on as well. Joseph explained that there came a time in every man's life when he started developing feelings and asked Jotaro whether this particular “siren” made his heart race or his liver flip.
Jotaro was stunned that Joseph already knew what was happening to him.
Joseph, delighted by the opportunity, revealed that he had actually been preparing for this moment for some time. He produced a book entitled Why Does My Body Feel Funny? A Book About Puberty for Boys, proudly presenting it to Jotaro.
Jotaro was furious, and insisted that it wasn't funny and demanded that Joseph stop treating the situation like a joke.
Avdol completely lost it, doubling over with laughter while Joseph continued looking unbearably pleased with himself.
Meanwhile at the camp, Clara remained completely unaware of the conversation. She was sitting with Kakoyin, Polnareff, Disturbia and Iggy, perfectly content and oblivious to the fact that Jotaro had just been diagnosed with a very different kind of problem.
She intended to make the most of these last moments of peace before their final battle with Dio.
Before they could even think about looking for Dio, Vanilla Ice ambushes them with his Stand , Cream.
His stand was unlike anything Clara had encountered before. When Vanilla Ice allowed Cream to swallow itself and its user, it transformed into a moving void that erased everything it touched. Walls, floors, furniture, and simply disappeared wherever it passed.
Clara and Disturbia both realized they had to be extra careful! This was a potential weak spot for Disturbia!
Vanilla Ice launched his first attack without warning, Cream tearing through the room and heading straight for Avdol, Polnareff, and Iggy. Avdol immediately shoved Polnareff and Iggy out of the way, but this time Clara was there. Disturbia sensed the attack a fraction of a second before it reached them, and Clara instinctively activated the Two of Cups, forming a connection with Avdol and Magician's Red. For one brief moment, their senses synchronized. Avdol could feel what Disturbia was detecting, while Clara could anticipate what Magician's Red was about to do.
Disturbia slammed into Avdol and knocked him aside just as Cream tore through the space where he had been standing. Avdol hit the floor hard, but he was alive. Clara had changed fate. Vanilla Ice emerged from Cream, furious that his ambush had failed, and the fight continued through the mansion.
Iggy quickly figured out that Vanilla Ice couldn't see while he was inside Cream's void. Polnareff began scattering sand across the floor to reveal Cream's movements, while Disturbia tracked every disturbance she could detect. Iggy manipulated the terrain with The Fool, Polnareff watched the sand, and Disturbia followed Vanilla Ice's movements. Together, they began turning the fight into a game of hunting the hunter.
Then Iggy came up with his plan.
Using The Fool, he created a replica of DIO from sand and positioned it where Vanilla Ice would see it. Vanilla Ice fell for the trick for only a moment before realizing that it was an illusion. His rage became frightening. He attacked Iggy with everything he had, battering the little Boston Terrier across the floor.
Disturbia immediately lunged toward him.
“Get away from him!” Vanilla Ice disappeared into Cream. Clara's expression hardened as Disturbia's eyes flashed yellow.
Her Stand tracked the disturbance, and Polnareff understood immediately. Silver Chariot struck the moment Vanilla Ice emerged, piercing him through the mouth.
For a moment, it seemed like the battle was over.
The Crusaders quickly realized that DIO had transformed him into a vampire, and the battle became even more desperate. Vanilla Ice attacked Polnareff repeatedly, severely injuring him before beginning to circle around him with Cream. The void gradually closed in, leaving Polnareff with nowhere to escape.
Despite his injuries, The Fool rose beneath Polnareff. Iggy used the last of his strength to launch him out of Cream's path, sending Polnareff safely toward the ceiling before collapsing.
But this time, Clara was ready.
She immediately reached for the connection between herself, Disturbia, and Iggy. The Two of Cups activated, allowing Clara to share her own Stand energy with him and stabilize him before his body could give out completely. Iggy gasped as Disturbia curled herself protectively around him.
“You're not dying,” Clara whispered. “Absolutely not.”
Iggy gave a weak, irritated growl.
Polnareff stared down at them in disbelief. Iggy had still done exactly what he had done in the original timeline—he had saved Polnareff—but Clara had refused to let the story end there.
Vanilla Ice suddenly emerged again.
Clara's connection with Avdol had not completely faded. Through the Two of Cups, Disturbia could guide Magician's Red toward Vanilla Ice's position even while he attempted to hide inside Cream. Avdol understood immediately.
Magician's Red unleashed a massive wave of flames. Vanilla Ice emerged from Cream directly into the attack, screaming as the fire engulfed him. Avdol kept the flames burning, forcing the vampire backward while Polnareff sliced through the curtains with Silver Chariot.
Sunlight flooded the room. Vanilla Ice desperately attempted to retreat into Cream, but Disturbia blocked his escape. Avdol's flames drove him forward, while Polnareff used Silver Chariot to force him directly into the sunlight.
Clara grabbed Iggy in a hug and called him a good boy, he had saved them all along with Disturbia.
Dio was alarmed, he was not expecting this. Clara -- or Clarice as he would call her -- He was not anticipating Two of Cups / Disturbia to be this much of a wild card, she had soundly defeated the majority of his servants.
Clara was no longer simply another reincarnated soul wandering through his world. She was actively changing the course of events around her, and that made her considerably more dangerous than he had anticipated.
He could of course make a grand speech about how she's a stubborn cockroach with her pet hairball that refuses to die but he has no time for monologues, this time things were different, EVERY crusader was alive, even if none had memories of their past realities it didn't make them any less formidable.
The Crusaders finally entered the deeper sections of Cairo, knowing that Dio himself was somewhere ahead. The group did not remain together for long. Avdol and Polnareff split away to search another section of the city, while Joseph deliberately moved through the streets on his own. Jotaro, Clara, and Kakyoin remained together, with the three of them moving cautiously through the darkness.
Iggy eventually wandered away as well, with Disturbia following him. Clara trusted the two Stand creatures enough to allow them to scout independently, especially after Disturbia had already proven herself capable of tracking hidden enemies far better than most of the group.
Joseph, meanwhile, understood that Dio would eventually come after him. He deliberately made himself visible and challenged him.
The vampire appeared and began pursuing Joseph through the streets of Cairo, forcing the older Joestar into a desperate chase. Joseph used Hermit Purple to swing between buildings and navigate the city while DIO pursued him relentlessly, The World allowing him to close the distance whenever he wished.
While Joseph kept DIO occupied, Kakyoin began preparing his own trap.
Hierophant Green spread throughout the surrounding area, its tendrils extending across rooftops, buildings, and streets until Kakyoin had effectively turned the entire area into a twenty-meter radius web. Any movement through the area would trigger his Stand, making it nearly impossible for DIO to approach without being detected.
Clara remained with Jotaro while Kakyoin moved into position.
She understood immediately what he was attempting to do. Kakyoin had spent their entire childhood being underestimated, and now he was finally facing an enemy who had forced him into becoming a weapon. This time, he intended to use everything he had learned to expose DIO's ability.
The moment he crossed into Hierophant Green's range, Kakyoin unleashed an enormous Emerald Splash.
The attack came from every direction, emerald projectiles filling the air as Hierophant Green's tendrils covered the surrounding buildings. DIO attempted to evade the barrage, but Kakyoin continued firing, forcing him deeper into the trap, an using THE WORLD. Exactly what he wanted them to do.
Kakyoin is hit badly but retreats and tells Jotaro and Clara that this is DIO's ability, the WORLD. A very powerful stand.
His injuries were still painful, but he remained determined to stay useful. He kept Hierophant Green spread throughout the surrounding area, using its tendrils to monitor the battlefield and warn the others whenever DIO attempted to move.
He knew that he could not afford to confront DIO directly again, especially after seeing how effortlessly The World had dismantled his trap. Instead, he chose to remain behind Clara and Jotaro, protecting them from unexpected attacks and watching for any opportunity to expose DIO's weaknesses.
Joseph continued trying to keep DIO occupied, but the vampire quickly became tired of the chase. The moment Joseph attempted to retreat toward the others, DIO turned his attention toward the remaining Crusaders.
Avdol and Polnareff immediately moved to intercept him, refusing to let DIO reach Jotaro and Clara without a fight. Magician's Red and Silver Chariot attacked together, forcing DIO backward for the first time since entering the streets of Cairo.
For a brief moment, it looked as though the two Stand users might actually be able to hold him off, but The World proved to be overwhelmingly powerful. DIO repeatedly stopped time, appearing behind them before either could react and striking with brutal precision.
Avdol was thrown across the street, while Polnareff was knocked into the side of a building and left badly injured. Neither was killed, but both were too wounded to continue fighting at full strength.
Iggy attempted to intervene when he saw Polnareff fall. The Fool surged beneath him, carrying the injured Boston Terrier toward the battlefield as he tried to create an opening for Silver Chariot.
DIO immediately noticed him and used The World to counterattack. Iggy was struck and thrown across the pavement, The Fool barely managing to shield him from the worst of the impact.
Disturbia immediately reacted, her ears snapping toward Iggy's position as she sensed his distress. She rushed toward him, but Iggy stubbornly forced himself back onto his feet, refusing to remain helpless while the others were fighting.
Even injured, he continued manipulating the terrain and attempting to create distractions for DIO, proving once again that the little dog was far more courageous than his selfish attitude suggested.
Clara watched the battlefield deteriorate around her. Avdol was injured, Polnareff was struggling to stand, Iggy was badly hurt, Joseph was exhausted, and Kakyoin was still recovering from his own devastating wound.
Everyone had fought their way across the world to reach this moment, and now DIO stood before them with an ability that could seemingly render every attack meaningless.
DIO attacks Clara, wasting no time, he wants to be rid of her and the hairball, she's done enough damage to him in this timeline.. but just as he's about to pummel her. Disturbia bites him hard on the neck, right above where Jonathan's body is, her eyes glow yellow.
This gives Jotaro JUST enough time to use THE WORLD and stop time, Clara observes that Disturbia can still move even if time is paused... which meant that Disturbia was impervious to THE WORLD and could possibly bend reality itself.
Clara stared in disbelief as the little chimera remained perfectly conscious, her claws scraping against the pavement as she continued moving through the frozen world. She couldn't move quite as freely as she normally could, but she was not frozen. The bizarre contradiction of her existence had once again allowed her to slip through something that should have been absolute.
Jotaro released the time stop and immediately attacked. Star Platinum collided with The World, the two Stands exchanging a barrage of punches that shook the surrounding buildings.
Clara and Disturbia moved alongside them, attacking from angles DIO couldn't anticipate. Every time DIO attempted to use stopped time to reposition himself, Disturbia could still track him, and even push him further and further back into time.
Then the realization hit her.
The Two of Cups wasn't merely allowing them to share information.
It could connect their Stands.
Clara turned toward Jotaro, her expression suddenly filled with determination.
“J-Jotaro! Two of Cups and Star can join! We can overpower DIO with ease! We gotta be fast! My Stand is impervious to The World!”
Jotaro didn't hesitate, he grabbed Clara's hand and told Star Platinum to unite with two of cups... and use Time Stop.
Suddenly the unthinkable happened, Star Platinum and Disturbia started glowing and unleashed a powerful attack on DIO, but Disturbia had a new power coursing through her veins: Primal Power, a devastating prehistoric power unleashed upon DIO, would be extra devastating if the user was reincarnated...
But that wasn't all. Jotaro's eyes suddenly flashed and he saw something that blew his mind.... His and Clara's souls had merged... and they remembered.... everything. A new power had unlocked: Soul Synchro. A power to connect through time and space with each other.
The connection between Two of Cups and Star Platinum suddenly deepens beyond anything Clara had ever experienced. For one impossible moment, the battlefield disappears.
She sees herself beside Jotaro--not as two teenagers meeting for the first time, but as husband and wife. She remembers the quiet moments between them, the years they spent together, the home they built, and the way Jotaro loved her despite rarely knowing how to put his feelings into words. She remembers the times he would come home exhausted from his work and silently sit beside her, allowing her presence to be enough.
Then the memories become heavier.....
Clara sees the life Jotaro had tried so desperately to protect. She remembers the danger surrounding their family, the enemies they had faced, and the terrible realization that her existence had somehow become entangled with the fate of the Joestar bloodline. She remembers Jotaro growing increasingly distant—not because he had stopped loving her, but because he was terrified that anyone who remained close to him would eventually become another target.
The coldness. The silence. The way Jotaro had kept pushing her away even when he clearly wanted her close. The walls he had built around himself had never been because he didn't care. And then Clara finally understands... and forgives him, because she knows why now. He was.. trying to protect them.
Then another memory surfaces, this one is more painful and makes crystal tears fall from her eyes that Kakyoin uses to stab DIO with..
Clara sees herself holding a child, a little girl, she hears herself naming her but at that moment the vision stops. Jotaro has tears from his eyes too, he looks at Clara in disbelief, shaking, but there's no time to process it.
They both unleash a rapid fire attack on DIO. Clara's eyes harden as Disturbia's flames erupt around her, while Star Platinum appears beside Jotaro with overwhelming force. The two Stands move together as though they have fought side by side for decades.
And with that. DIO is finally defeated, and Jonathan's body crumbles into dust along with the sands crumbling away with the passage of time, at peace at last.
The Joestar curse was finally broken...
The Stardust Crusaders: Joseph, Avdol, Polnareff, Kakyoin, and even Iggy couldn't believe what they just did. They all came out of this bizarre journey in one piece. Joseph and everyone hugged each other, now the only thing left to do was head on the Speedwagon Plane and head home to see Holly, she was finally recovering.
Jotaro naturally had many questions, as did Clara... and Joseph was more than happy to answer them, he smiled sadly and showed Clara the pictures and told her everything, how she's been with the Joestars for a long time, how his Grandma Erina had found her on the beach, from beginning to end.
Her destiny was truly intertwined with the Joestars...
Days pass and everyone celebrates the defeat of DIO at the Joestar mansion via a small cookout in the back yard, Joseph insisted Holly only serve plates because he didn't want his dear daughter to over exert herself.
Avdol and Polnareff argued over whose cuisune was better, Iggy was chewing Pol's shoes, Disturbia was stealing chicken, Kakyoin was helping Holly while Clara was wishing someone would help her prep the veggies.... everything was truly back to normal.
One night while Clara was alone outside just.. taking in the scenery Jotaro sees her, and .. he wonders. Would she be willing to fall in love with him again? Give him a second chance? Of course not that she was obligated to, their fates had changed.
Jotaro had a little gift for her, he knew she liked orcas and handed her an orca keychain he bought from the local conservation center for marine life, where he planned to study Marine Biology.
Clara was delighted and took the keychain, she said that the Speedwagon Foundation had given her a full Scholarship to be a Stand Specailist and study at a secret university for it, Jotaro smiled -- a rare event, he was proud of her, his blue eyes shining with gratitude.
She then blushed her stupid heart did that flutter- flip motion, she was suddenly getting feelings that she never knew would blossom within her, she tentatively stood on her toes and pecked Jotaro on the cheek, quickly withdrawing. Jotaro simply shook his head and lowered his hat, blushing. He gave her a hug and a kiss on the forehead.
"We should.. pick up where we left off, maybe after university,"
"I think.. I'd like that," Clara responds, neither letting go of each other.
Present Day, New Timeline
Jotaro and Clara marry when they're both 28 and 24 respectively, surprising both their families except Joseph. Both established in their careers.
As for the Stardust Crusaders..... Polnareff returned to France, Avdol continues to stay in Egypt and has a tarot business, Kakyoin became a game developer / designer and made his own game, he and Clara remained the best of friends despite everything, always catching up through e-mail. Clara was the first to play his new game, he dedicated it to her and Jotaro.
The Stardust Crusaders still kept in touch with one another, even visiting each other for yearly reuinions at the Speedwagon Foundation.
Joseph grew old in age and happily retired with Suzie Q. Iggy now lives in the Kujo-Weiss household in Florida, since he bonds so well with Disturbia.
But as always, its not JJBA without tragedy, there was a happy ending for everyone... except one person.
In Part 5 Clara and Jotaro defeat Pucci before he can become a threat while she is studying odd stands in Italy, along with the fiasco of Passione, La Squadra, etc. Jotaro informs her about Giorno, she's disgusted but not surprised that Dio used Jonathan's body to impregnate so many women and have illegitimate children.
Disturbia's final forme activates: Dying Breed, she now resembles a mix of Inostrancevia, Miacis and a Sabertooth Lion with proud antlers that sprout from her skull.
Then she enters the odd timelines thanks to Diavolos' stand and finally meets her daughter Jolyene in the original timeline and... she realizes that if Jolyene is born in her present timeline.. it would undo everything.
And just as they were thinking of having a baby together...
Its a heartbreaking realization, but Jolyene doesn't hold it against her mother and father, she promises she's happy in the other timeline and bids them farewell, each party returning to their own respective timelines.
Clara and Jotaro decide to spend a day at the beach together to cheer her up, a little blue and green butterfly flits past her as they both walk along the shore...
