Time to Go || Self-Para
Jaden casually strolled through his empty villa for perhaps the fourth time, doing one last sweep of the property to ensure heâd collected all his most valuable belongings. Heâd leave behind the furniture for whoever decided to live here next. He had no need for it, already owning more than enough in any other home he had and the capacity to buy new, if he had to.Â
Heâd managed to fit his extensive wardrobe into one suitcase, thanks to a little magic, along with a few other possessions he didnât want to leave behind. âLooks like thatâs everything,â he mused to himself.Â
The hybrid couldnât believe he was finally leaving Krovs. Finally returning to normal life. Heâd dreamed of this day since heâd first landed himself in slavery almost four years ago exactly. And now...
Why did it feel so bittersweet?Â
It seemed ironic to admit that Jaden would miss Krovs. He definitely wouldnât miss going from upperclass businessman to a powerless slave. No, heâd miss some of the people here, the friendships and relationships heâd built. He felt terrible leaving Artagan behind, but he knew the other fae had Lovell and Eris. New friends, like Asha and Conall, heâd certainly miss. The hardest one to say goodbye to had been Hunter. What had started as a casual friends with benefits scenario had turned into something much more over the recent years. God damn it, heâd miss him the most, but he knew theyâd visit each other soon. It always seemed the two of them started moving into the territory of more than friends just when they had to separate. One day theyâd get their timing right.Â
His phone buzzed in his pocket and he quickly whipped it out, smiling at the familiar flutter of butterflies in his stomach from the notification. His old master, Bjorn, was looking for him, wondering when heâd be arriving. He couldnât wait to see him again, heâd missed him dearly since heâd left the castle. Sometimes he wondered why he hadnât left with Bjorn; heâd gained the freedom to do so a little over a year ago.Â
Jaden swiped the screen to unlock it, answering him right away: Leaving soon. Be there in a few.
Sweden, of course, was only first on his many stops outside of Krovs. He owed his dear friend Kang a surprise proper visit in Paris. And his parents in New York would be happy to see him as well. For someone who enjoyed a grand and luxurious adventure, he couldnât wait to go home again.Â
Heâd said his goodbyes to the people heâd wanted, and wrapped up everything at Illuminations â within Krovs anyway. His magic shop would now become a well-known chain for all magic users and supernaturals around the world as he expanded his business across the globe. He had nothing else left to do except summon the portal out of here.Â
Jaden grabbed his single suitcase and headed outside, taking one last look at the castle on the mountains in the distance. Funny how a place meant to breed fear, horror, and trauma had such a beautiful view. It felt strange to say heâd miss this place. But he knew he needed to leave for the sake of his own happiness. He had so much left to do and see in the world rather than resign himself to the place heâd been held prisoner for years.Â
A flick of his wrist and a flash of gold summoned a shimmering magic portal before him. Jaden glanced back at the view of the castle against the setting sun again and smiled small to himself. âSo long, Krovs,â he said, his smile fading ever so slightly.Â
Gripping his luggage tight, Jaden looked through the portal and grinned at what awaited him on the other side. He stepped through and disappeared from the street of Krovs Town, the portal sealing shut behind him.Â
