have you ever thought about how many people think about you? it’s so bizarre. imagine someone, out of the blue, thinking of your face. something happens; they remember you. your favorite song, how you dress, the way you talk, the look in your eyes when you are happy. they remember that about you, even if you haven’t seen each other in years. everything in life is a reminder of a person, a place, a moment. you may think you’ve forgotten, but you haven’t.
I’d divorce him too lmao
It’s never JUST about the tomatoes.
Basically!
Throughout the day, partners would make requests for connection, what Gottman calls “bids.” For example, say that the husband is a bird enthusiast and notices a goldfinch fly across the yard. He might say to his wife, “Look at that beautiful bird outside!” He’s not just commenting on the bird here: He’s requesting a response from his wife—a sign of interest or support—hoping they’ll connect, however momentarily, over the bird.
The wife now has a choice. She can respond by either “turning toward” or “turning away” from her husband, as Gottman puts it. Though the bird-bid might seem minor and silly, it can actually reveal a lot about the health of the relationship. The husband thought the bird was important enough to bring it up in conversation and the question is whether his wife recognizes and respects that.
These bidding interactions had profound effects on marital well-being. Couples who had divorced after a six-year follow-up had “turn-toward bids” 33 percent of the time. Only three in 10 of their bids for emotional connection were met with intimacy. The couples who were still together after six years had “turn-toward bids” 87 percent of the time. Nine times out of 10, they were meeting their partner’s emotional needs.
Those who showed genuine interest in their partner’s joys were more likely to be together.

Weird peeve time. Calling lab grown gemstones “fake” is stupid because it’s the same shit just not formed naturally. An artificially grown diamond is the same shit as a natural diamond it is the exact same material bro it’s all fuckign carbon
It’s carbon it’s pretty and it didn’t involve slave labor what’s not to love??? Hi I’m having geology opinions tonight apparently. And I’m right
There is so much bullshit in the diamonds industry to be mad about tbh. It also ties into the bullshit of the wedding industry as a whole but we don’t have the time to unpack all that
not even going to lie, the day i learned i could get like 15 lab grown rubies the size of dimes for $20 is the day i spent $20 on rubies, and i have never once said to myself “man, i wish this cost $1,600 and the lives of eight children to produce”
We are a pro-lab-grown mineral blog here, not only is it massively cheaper but massively more ethical as well in many cases.
another very cool lab grown gem is Moissanite. It has a 9.25 on the mohs hardness scale where diamond is a 10. Moissanote also has a 2.69 refractive index in comparison to diamond’s 2.419 and here is the difference
and the best thing about moissanite? It is all lab grown and it costs only a fraction of what diamond costs. So fuck the diamond indsutry and buy lab grown gems which cost significantly less
Also it’s just cool to think of some mad scientist lookin person doing shit against the law of the universe and making pretty gems for you. Like cmon. This shouldnt be allowed probably. But humans really be like on gOD i want some shiny an just started MAKIN em
for years people wanted alchemy, well now we have alchemy and we’re making gemstones out of it and suddenly “it doesn’t count” anymore

“What is it that the child has to teach?
The child naively believes that everything should be fair and everyone should be honest, that only good should prevail, that everybody should have what they want and there should be no pain or sadness. The child believes the world should be perfect and is outraged to discover it is not.
And the child is right.”
— Rabbi Tzvi Freeman
“Westerners are fond of the saying ‘Life isn’t fair.’ Then, they end in snide triumphant: ‘So get used to it!’ What a cruel, sadistic notion to revel in! What a terrible, patriarchal response to a child’s budding sense of ethics. Announce to an Iroquois, ‘Life isn’t fair,’ and her response will be: ‘Then make it fair!’” –Barbara Alice Mann

3 times Iruma courts Alice the way humans do with Alice not understanding anything – and 1 time he actually does.
OKAY. so. flashback to a post i made back in may where i asked for iruazz fic ideas...this fic was based from there except it’s months late lol. this was so interesting to write bc 1. i have no romantic bone in my body and 2. i dont have any firsthand experience on courting somebody so this was...idk.
one thing i notice that’s becoming a pattern on my iruazz fics is that alice is always on the receiving end. and yk what i think thats interesting and fresh and all that. anyway this has been rly fun and i hope u enjoy it as much as i did writing it :D
so I got into grad school today with my shitty 2.8 gpa and the moral of the story is reblog those good luck posts for the love of god
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Summary:
In which Atsushi is Akutagawa’s new neighbor, and Akutagawa loses hours of sleep from talking to Atsushi across their kitchen windows at ungodly hours of night — and falls in love in the process.
i dont rlly know what to say much about this one except one day i saw an au prompt abt two people talking to each other across their kitchen windows and i just rolled with it. i think it’s very domestic n seeing sskk outside of stories and scenarios where the premise is mainly them on their workplace n stuff is rly nice :D also aku struggles wit feelings but That Is Ok !
If you’re trying to decide whether or not to write that self-indulgent fic that only you will like?
If you’re trying to decide whether you should read that favourite fic for the 17,000th time even though you have the whole thing memorized?
If you’ve never read/written fanfic before, but you think you want to try it?
op: let ppl ship what they want, it’s fictional!
me: that’s fair
op: so it’s ok to ship inc*st and p*dophilia
me:
i immediately lost 5 followers after this lmao thank god
When I say “let people ship what they want” I mean stuff like silly crack ships or crossover ships or shipping OCs with canon characters. Incest and pedophilia ships are always shit.
wow i lost like 7 followers after this it’s crazy that people actually ship inc*st and p*dophelia
TUA Fandom listen up
Oop y’all can just unfollow me rn if you ship that shit :)
Unfollow me if you ship that
Unfollow me and block me if you ship pedo\inc*st ships
au prompt where two complete strangers go to a relationship therapist just to see how long itll take until the therapist figures out theyre not actually married and just, in fact, strangers but the therapist never does because the two of them actually look like theyve fallen inlove with each other
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
“Akutagawa—a tattoo artist—always goes to the flower shop across the street to practice drawing flowers. There he meets the pretty owner, Atsushi, and falls in love with him in the process.”
there’s a certain something about it: a certain subtleness, certain simplicity, on stories that tell you how two people fall in love with each other. love is a process—i believe—there’s a realization that happens in between. this story is one of them.
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
When Akutagawa and Atsushi meet at a library one day, something sparks more than just a discussion of novels and poetry. — hi! after a lil over a month, i finally published a new story! this was quickly written—less than a day—and is extremely self-indulgent. two weeks ago, i had to write a reaction paper for romeo and juliet—ive only written negative stuff about it. since then, i may (or may not) have accidentally read a story about theatre actors playing R&J and also am playing Helena in MND for class. which is weird. now ive grown to love and appreciate it—R&J—that is—and somehow wanted to incorporate it to shin soukoku.
