APARTMENT 143.　feat. enhypen hyung line ( a sneak peak )

You’d like to think that whatever mess is in front of you now, all a part of your creative brain—the piled laundry on the couch, cups and mugs and plates on the coffee table, throw pillows literally thrown across the room and three boys (who are all older than you by the way) in the middle of arguing whether ketchup is a supplementary addition to the last slice of pizza...

The last slice of pizza from the three take out boxes that laid open and empty on the foot of the coffee table.

You inwardly groan. This was not the scenario you wanted to come home to after running errands in the city.

But before you could get a word in, your fourth roommate (who’s definitely better than the rest, bless his heart) leaps in with a frustrated yell.

“What the fuck is going on!?” Jay storms past you and onto the connected open kitchen, witnessing the other three’s eyes widen in surprise as they scurry away; trying to escape their impending doom on Jay’s wrath.

“We we’re gone for three hours—THREE!” Jay raises three fingers to further emphasize his very much warranted irritation. “And this is what we came back to—what the fuck!? What the actual fuck!?”

You know Jay could strangle them at any given moment—or himself, either way that would be to keep the stress at bay that was brought upon by the unfortunate usual suspects, none of the three better than the other.

Heeseung’s cheeks are still full of food when he points at Jake—who has melted cheese stains on his white hoodie. Jake then shakes his head frantically, glaring at the eldest of all four before he too, of course points a finger at an unsuspecting Sunghoon. The latter’s brows furrow, swatting the finger that was being pointed at his direction.

“It was his fault!” The three of them scream in unison.

A sigh leaves your lips and Jay scoffs, the two of you look at one another in silent surrender before walking back towards the same door that not even five minutes ago, you both came through.

When you signed up the same apartment lease with your childhood friends with a great deal of anticipation for quote “quiet and clean apartment,” this was not the scenario you had in mind.

And for fuck’s sake, you really had to sign that lease two weeks ago.

There was something terribly wrong with you.

Sunghoon’s brows deepens, watching closely as you linked your arms with your closest friend—Sunoo, before you nearly dragged him out of the lecture hall after your last class together.

“Stare any longer and you'll burn holes through the doors.” Jake appears beside him, bag in hand and car keys slinging on his left middle finger and almost as if reading his thoughts he adds. “So, did you and Y/N fight or something?”

Sunghoon shakes his head. You haven't fought at all, if anything happened, it was the exact opposite of a fight.

“No, we didn't. But she's been ignoring me the entire weekend and I don't know why.” Sunghoon huffs, slinging his backpack over his right shoulder before he and Jake left the room, in tow with the rest of the leaving college students.

It was true. You had spent the entire Friday night cozied up against him—on his bed, underneath his warm sheets, pressed against him like he was the furnace that kept you warm. Sure, you spending the night over at his was anything but innocent but you seemed genuinely happy and at ease when you were with him then. No implications of the sudden attitude change that you were treating him with now.

“Don’t know man. She seems hell-bent on ignoring you—and that only usually happens when you have completely upset someone or they're completely done with you.” Sunghoon nearly bristles at Jake’s comment. But he says nothing, because truth to be told it did kinda seem like IGNORE SUNGHOON was on the top of your TO-DO LIST, probably written in a thick red marker as well.

The two of them join in in the swarm of students in the hallways, ignoring the looks from passing female students as they continue with the conversation that makes more question rather than answers to pop off Sunghoon’s mind.

“I don’t know what's up with her. We were fine last friday.” Sunghoon wracks his head, trying to come up with anything that's going to solve this sudden one-sided problem you have with him—only to end up with none.

The two of them reached the parking lot with barely any idea of what was going on, Sunghoon more so confused by the apparent fact that you truly were ignoring and avoiding him when both he and Jake reached the parking spot to find you nowhere in sight.

Usually you’d be here first thing after your classes, greeting him with a hug or often times than not, something more than a hug.

Jake chuckles at the irritated yet confused look on his friend’s face, opting to bid his goodbye early to sort himself out of Sunghoon’s dilemma before driving his car away.

Whatever problem you and his good friend might have, he knows both of you will sort it out but for now, he's gonna have to pull himself out of this one.

“Okay... spill whatever the fuck tea you have.” Sunoo sits in front of you, frappe in hand and a wave in the air with the other.

He looks at you like you've just shot someone—brows furrowed, eyes sharp wuth confusion at why you aren't with your boy, the one you normally spend your afternoons with. His reaction, in all fairness, was justified.

You try to stifle your groan, palms on your face like this current problem of yours is bigger than the paper you conveniently forgot to write about over during the weekends—it was.

This problem was the worst and you think there's no coming back once the words are to leave your lips.

The paper you forgot to write? You can finish it tonight. Or tomorrow. Or even the day after that.

But coming face to face with the realization you’ve been quietly harboring—and actually saying it out loud with your best friend sitting there like some official witness to your emotional downfall—felt far more overwhelming than any deadline ever could.

But with his rather sharp observation skills and as if there was a light bulb that went over his, Sunoo leans in, half of his upper body leaning over the table and with a hushed voice, he whispers.

“You like him...”

You deny it. Weakly. With a jumbled muttering of protests against his rather bold accusation.

“Oh my—Is that why you've been avoiding him like a plague? Why you've opted to hang out with me and Yujin last weekend?” Sunoo falls back into his chair with a dramatic plop, staring at you as if he’s just solved the greatest mystery of the century. “He doesn't know, does he?”

You shake your head. You’re certain Sunghoon doesn’t feel the same way. After all, you both agreed to keep things simple—no strings attached. Just something physical, nothing more.

It was convenient. Safe. Mutually beneficial. He trusted you, and you trusted him. No expectations. No labels. No one else needed to know.

Or at least, that was how it was supposed to be.

“I don’t think I can keep going with whatever's going between the two of us—it would ruin what we have now.” You tell him, eyes drifting across the room with unease in your gut. “I really do genuinely love and appreciate his company, you know. He's fun—even with his weird humor and his tendency to make the most stupid remarks over the movie we're watching, or the way he remembers even the smallest thing about me. He makes me feel like—”

Oh it wasn’t supposed to feel like this.

It hits you in the smallest, most inconvenient way—not during the nights spent tangled in his sheets, not when his hands were warm and familiar, not even when he whispered your name like it was second nature.

It happens when he laughs.

Not the breathless kind, not the teasing kind—but the soft one he lets out when he’s relaxed, when he forgets to guard himself.

And suddenly, you realize you don’t just want his body.

You want his mornings too.

His bad habits.

The way he goes quiet when he’s thinking.

You want to know if he eats when he’s stressed.

If he sleeps better with someone beside him.

If he looks for you in rooms the way you’ve started looking for him.

Your chest tightens.

That’s when it sinks in—slow and undeniable.

You broke the rule.

No strings attached was never supposed to include missing him when he’s not there.

It was never supposed to include worrying about who he’s with when you’re not.

It was never supposed to include the quiet hope that maybe, just maybe, he feels it too.

You swallow hard, forcing the feeling down.

Because wanting him like this was dangerous.

And loving him?

That was never part of the deal.

You never got the chance to finish your sentence before your phone buzzes over the table top, screen flashing the ID caller and your stomach drops.

It's him.

Sunoo leans back against his seat, sips on his frappe with a brow raised and says,

“So... what’s your plan now?”

Everything was confusing yet enlightening all at the same time.

Sunghoon has never felt so dull all his life than he feels right now—an exaggeration but you should get the gist.

It has been two weeks ever since his last phone call with you, one that he couldn't fully wrap his head around.

You've left more questions than answers when you asked him to give you some time to think and space to focus on certain things. You've never told him that whatever relationship you both had was over but it certainly did felt like it when you began to completely ignore and avoid him even at school. The lack of communication was upsetting him, but your decision to act like he doesn't even exist in your world was killing him.

“Did someone piss on your car?” Jake laughs as he asks, sliding on the seat beside him as the university cafeteria began filling up with students—the incessant buzzing of their conversations making Sunghoon’s ears ring, and he nearly jumps out of his spot and ask Jake to eat somewhere else when he spots you, Sunoo and Yujin entering through the cafeteria doors.

Jake follows his line of sight, noting the lack of rebuttal from his gold ol’ friend and smirks.

“You know, if you like her that much—”

“I like her company.”

Jake shrugs.

“Same thing. If you like her company that much then maybe you should do something about it—not mope around like a lovesick fool.”

Sunghoon glares at him. “I did. She doesn't wanna talk to me.”

“Alright. But what did you do exactly to warrant this—whatever this is.” Jake makes air motions with his hands, sharp eyes moving towards you and your friends. “Did you try to at least ask the reason why for this?”

“Of course I did.”

Jake blinks.

“And?”

Sunghoon sighs at his friend’s seemingly unending list of questions.

“She said she wanted some space and some time to think.” Sunghoon runs his fingers through his hair, messing the hairstyle he'd spent 30 minutes fixing in front his bathroom mirror. “I have been trying to keep myself from messaging and calling her every minute of the hour because I respect her decision—I respect her—but I’m just as clueless as you are, alright? And I really do wanna fix whatever this is but I can’t, not when she doesn't wanna talk to me just yet.”

Sunghoon’s shoulders slumped, jaw tightening and focusing his eyes on the extra cup of coffee over the table.

Jake looks at his friend—truly looks at him. At the dullness clouding Sunghoon’s eyes. At the way his lips press into a thin line, holding back words he doesn’t trust himself to say. Even the way he stands feels off, like he’s carrying something too heavy—like his mind is too occupied with thoughts of you to be fully present.

Jake keeps watching him.

Sunghoon opens his mouth to say something—maybe to ask Jake for help, or maybe to just brush the topic off—but he stops. He presses his lips together in silence again.

“You know, you should just tell her.”

Sunghoon scoffs faintly, then shakes his head. He looks away.

“It’s not like that.”

But his eyes betray him, when they longingly land on your direction.

“You miss her man, just tell her.”

Sunghoon doesn't deflect. He doesn't say anything more.

“Look, I know you care a great deal for her. But nothing’s gonna change Hoon—she’ll continue ignoring you and you'll continue acting like a lovesick fool awaiting his missus to finally change her mind and talk to you—and you can't change her mind unless you actually let her know about you feel. How you truly feel.” Jake makes a valid point.

Sunghoon shifts on his seat uncomfortably—chest tight because he knows Jake had just made a valid point. Because deep down he knows Jake is right—and some part of him knows what he should do, act on it and maybe, just maybe he'll get the answers he needed from you.

You were going to kill Sunoo.

As the door behind clicks shut behind you.

You were absolutely certain you're going to kill him.

“Before you think of plotting ways on how to kill your friend, care to sit down and have a chat with me?” Sunghoon gestures for the chair beside him, a small—almost teasing smile ripping from his lips.

You cross your arms over your chest. “No, thank you. I’d really rather not.”

Sunghoon sighs, endearingly so before he stands up, walking the short distance to you, until he was only 5feet away.

“If you don't want to sit down or talk to me, then just listen to me and you don't have to say anything.”

You remained silent, in fear of saying something you know you shouldn't.

You glance at every corner of the room, but your eyes never find Sunghoon’s. Your chest pounds so loudly it feels like it might give you away, and warmth floods your cheeks, making you wish you could vanish. It’s not that being near him is unbearable—it’s that the wall you’ve built to protect yourself, the one keeping your words and feelings locked away, is starting to crumble. Every note of his voice—soft, desperate, yearning—cuts through your defenses, and for the first time in weeks, you’re not sure if you can hold yourself back.

Sunghoon sighs at your silence, but a smile finds its way onto his lips.

“You know, these last few weeks of you ignoring me made me realize a lot,” you hear him start, and you can’t help but tense slightly. “I realized I have an accumulation of coffee pods on my kitchen cupboard and a coffee maker on my counter that I can’t use anymore. I realized watching your favorite movie is nearly impossible without your commentary playing alongside the audio. I realized I have an extra toothbrush on my bathroom countertop… whose owner clearly decided to stop talking to me.”

You let out a light scoff, part amusement, part disbelief, but the real battle rages inside you: do you interrupt him now, spilling everything you’ve been holding back, or do you bite your tongue and let him finish? It’s harder than you expected to contain yourself.

“Moreover, I realized that I hate sleeping alone at night just as much as you hate sleeping with socks on. I realized that I hate how I still buy your coffee and your favorite snacks, letting them pile up in my bag because I can’t possibly hand them to you—not when you asked for space and time. And now, I’m starting to understand… I can give you anything you want, but that. I can’t give you the time and space you’re asking for if it means giving you the chance to see that maybe you don’t need me in your life anymore.”

Your chest tightens, and it is almost hard to breathe as it is difficult to contain the feelings you were keeping at the bay, the words of fondness and adoration to slip past your lips. You try to glance at anywhere in the room, but your eyes betrays you when it keeps on flickering back to meet his.

“Hoon...” You trail off, not really knowing where to start. Your voice trembles despite your best efforts to stay composed.

“I… I didn’t mean to ignore you—or maybe… well, I did,” you admit, a nervous chuckle escaping you. “I thought keeping my distance was the right thing to do. We agreed from the start that what we had was… just physical. Nothing more. But somewhere along the way, I… I started feeling more, and now I’ve broken that agreement. And it feels wrong—unfair—to keep seeing you when I can’t pretend anymore that I don’t care.” You gesture vaguely between the two of you, meaning more than the words can carry.

Sunghoon steps closer, slow and careful, his eyes soft with understanding and steady flowing with emotions that you can't fully decipher.

His hand reaches out, cupping your cheeks against the warmth of his palm, the other finding its way around your waist before he pulls you close.

“Then don’t.”

His breath fans your forehead, lips pressing a gentle kiss to the crown of your head before he wraps you in a hug, both hands circling your back—careful, familiar, like he’s exactly where he’s meant to be.

“Don’t pretend anymore,” he murmurs against your hair, his voice low and steady, carrying something between plea and promise. You stiffen for a heartbeat, heart hammering, before relaxing into the warmth of him.

There are unspoken words between you, ones that aren't needed to be said—there was an understanding, and the tension you've been carrying since loosened. And for the first time in weeks, it feels like you can breathe freely again.

Your arms creep around his waist, head leaning against his chest to savor the steady rhythm of his heartbeat.

“Sunghoon...” you whisper, “I don’t wanna pretend anymore—I don't think I can.” You mutter against him.

A soft laugh escapes him, amused but relieved. “Then don’t.” He simply says. “Let’s both stop pretending. Let's just be... Us.”

You look up, meeting his eyes—tender, careful and free of worries, spotting the smile that mirrors yours.

“Just be us...” You repeat after him.

“Yes, both of us, no more pretending.”

You smile, “I would love that.”

You have been keeping a secret. Two secrets, actually.

One that's going to cause chaos, drama and scandal when it's made known to the public, and one that you have been hiding from your lovely boyfriend of two years.

“Alright, next please.”

The event hall was packed with hundreds of fans, most of them bearing gifts and merchandise waiting to be signed as they waited their turn in line with excited but anxious smiles. One of them including you.

It has been a few weeks ever since ENHYPEN's comeback and the promotion for their newly released album had been hectic for the better term. The boys had been doing comeback shows, variety shows and countless guest appearances for their album and this week, it was all about fan interaction.

A fan-sign event, to be exact.

Clutching the album close to your chest, you moved forward along with the line of girls towards the signing table, removing the hoodie and your mask that was covering your face as you approached Jungwon first.

“Hello.”

ENHYPEN's leader nearly topples over his seat, eyes wide but keeps his composure as you hand him the album to be signed and as he takes it from your hand.

“Hi.” Jungwon stops himself ust as he was about to call you something that might give away your closeness with the boys. “What's your name?”

You purse your lips, stifling a laugh that was about to come out as you tell him your name.

Jungwon nods his head, a smile on his lips before his signing over your album.

“How are you? Is this your first time attending our fan sign event?” He jokingly asks, knowing full too well that it wasn't but for the sake of secrecy, he makes small talks as he did with the other fans.

Soon, your time with Jungwon ends and you move down the line of awating and anticipating fans.

Each member wears the same shocked expression when you sit in front of them—quickly smoothing it into neutrality to avoid suspicion. It’s funny and endearing all at once. After all, they weren’t expecting you back for at least another month or two because of your studies. The surprise is more than warranted.

Heeseung, the last member before your boyfriend shoots you a smile, patting your palm before you moved to the next seat.

And then you’re in front of him.

Your even more surprised boyfriend.

And for a split second, Park Jay forgets how to breathe.

He clears his throat, biting his lower lip to keep himself from smiling—although the gentle curve of his smile reaching his eyes was nothing but a dead giveaway to the obvious affection he was trying so hard to hide.

“Hi. What's your name?” He asks, suavely returning back to his cool idol persona.

You nearly laugh.

You nearly laugh because he knows you more than just your name. He knows how you like to take your coffee, how you hum your favorite songs when focusing on something, heck he knows every books in your shelves, collecting dust as they waited to be read.

Still, you answer him with fondness in your eyes and with love dripping from your lips.

He takes the cap off his marker, writing down things on the album with leisured movements as if his buying more time with you.

“May I have the pleasure of knowing your favorite member?” He tease, his knees lightly bumping yours underneath the table.

You place your finger on your chin contemplating whose name should you choose to answer—even though both of you knows who.

“I think Sunghoon.” You tell him oingly. “He did share his sweets with me when I was over at his table afterall.”

Jay feigns a look of disbelief hands brushing against yours as he returns your album to you.

“Really? Any chance I might change your mind?” He tilts his head, gaze diverting to the marker on the table before his gaze finds yours again. He wouldn't help himself if he continues to stare at you the smile on his lips threatening to spill was already a difficult task to contain. After all the fans and the public can't know about your relationship just yet.

“Hmmm. I don't think so Mr. Park.”

“Ah. Is that so.”

And just like that, your interaction comes to a wrap after a few more interactions and you leave the venue with a certain fondness in your heart.

You two meet later that night.

No cameras.

No fans.

No other people present.

Just the two of you nestled underneath the warmth of your duvet.

Jay plants a kiss on the side of your head, arms wrapping you in his tender embrace.

“Just so you know,” he murmurs against your head. “That was the hardest five minutes of my life.”

blue lock boys : things you do for the holidays

★ ㅡ they aren’t the best at cooking, but tries to help you in the kitchen either ways. they’d be a little clueless, pacing around the room and always on your tail if you haven't given them anything to do. they are a little lost with the task at hand but it doesn't necessarily mean that they're completely useless... just try watching over them when they're cutting some of the ingredients... or better yet just cut them yourselves and have them sat down to watch over a pot of boiling pasta noddles.

★ ㅡ they help you out with the decor... half of it anyways. if they're not putting up decorations they're either causing chaos or lazing around and watching you do things by yourself. if they're the latter, they'll most likely only stand up to hang things that are way too high for your height before walking back to where they were. if they're the former, they'd mostly likely break a few christmas ornaments or entangle the christmas lights around their body. there is no in between.

bachira meguru, nagi seishiro

★ ㅡ they accompany you to gather all of the necessary things for the festivity. they'd offer to drive you around the city, carry some of the things back to the car, give their input on what should go where in the apartment and the decorations that would go well with the apartment’s interior. they'll help out with the cooking too, probably not as good as you but capable enough for you to trust them with the knife. they'll prepare you a cup of hot chocolate when you're done with all the needed preparations as well, wrapping you in a comfort of warmth in front of the on-going clip of a fireplace in your tv screen.

a/n: holidays is different from where i came from. there's no snow. no fireplace to light up. no hot chocolates. the only semblance of the holiday from the movies i’ve watched and heard from some of my international friends gush about are the christmas decors and the gift-giving :D i wanna experience snow while i have winter as my most fav season even though i’ve never really been exposed to it. the closest to winter i’ve got is during the early mornings of my day where the mountains are nearly engulfed by the clouds and the temperature drops 😺

boyfriend!bachira who sends you a hefty, cheesy yet adorable text messages and voice mails in the morning so that you can start your day by listening and reading through them. he knows how much you love them so he spares some of his time in the early morning to send you a ton of sweet messages and voice mails that makes you smile.
