Sam Smith - Organic Chocolate
We are starting to see leaves on the hops! Wahoo…..let’s go, Spring!
Bravo Brown is a American #BrownAle style #beer brewed by @firestonewalker. in Paso Robles, #california with a 95 out of 100 on @beeradvocate. Pineapple for scale . . . Firestone Walker brews the 2017 Vintage of Bravo, an Imperial #BrownAle aged in retired American oak bourbon barrels. A single-hopped strong brown ale brewed using the hop variety Bravo. This beer is then aged for up to a year in circa 1990’s used Heaven Hill bourbon barrels. . . . 🍺 . . . Deep cherry brown which has a very thin creamy head with a good carbonation. Aroma of coconut and bourbon. Tastes similar to the nose. Mouthfeel is smooth with a lot of alcohol warmth. Overall it’s a good bourbon barrel aged beer.
Yesterday I got to check out this really neat bar where you use a scannable bracelet to pour your own beer. Over 50 drafts to choose from - I was in love!
Budweiser’s Super Bowl commercial shows that immigration is the American way
New Belgium’s Cherry Almond Ale (Picked up at Ralph’s). A 2 of 4. Interesting – basically a light brown ale with some faint tart cherry qualities and a strong almond nuttiness. If you like brown ales and/or deep amber ales, this is fine, and the additions add some complexity. Nice roast qualities, and not over the top with the fruit/nuts. Not bad at all, but I’m not particularly a fan.
Just Another IPA (Brix City)
Brewery : Brix City Beer : Just Another IPA Style : IPA Variance : None
8 / 10
Brix city, bitch, brix brix city, bitch. Ten, ten, ten, twenty on yo titties, bitch. 100 deep VIP, no guest list. This is my first beer by these guys and I must say, well done fellas. I got a chance to head up to Little Ferry and check these guys out in person and the brewery smells fantastic and is well laid out and has some pretty awesome beers on tap. After tasting this straight from the source I knew I had to take a 4 pack home with me and I’m damn glad that I did. This is another hazy IPA coming out of the Garden State that proves that we can hold our own in the category and I would say this beer can hang with some of the heaviest hitters out there. This certainly is not “just another IPA” with it’s mix of citrus and oniony hop bitterness to start before a pillowy mouthfeel mixes with some light grapefruit flavors before ending with a resiny grassy hop flavor to close. This beer is “just another IPA” about as much as Morgan Fairchild is “just another woman over the age of 60” because let’s be real, most men would love to mix their baby batter with her puss dust and create mutant creature children because she probably shouldn’t be trying to procreate anymore at her age. These guys are just another reason why I love my home state even though I’m currently trying to leave it, I think you’ll be seeing their cans all over social media soon as trade-bait in the coming months because they know their shit and prove it with every brew. If you are new to IPAs pick this up because it’s unique hop flavors will having you thanking your lucky starts that you still have 3 cans of this left. As for you fans out there, this should already be in your fridge because it is splendid so don’t let me down and get out there and drink it!
