Jameson King - 25 - Florist
— I tried to be carefree and to be gentle but my beating heart caught me and kicked me out the beating is the only thing i've got I'll cut it up all open I blow and see it fly the bitterness and the sweet goodbye.
The days had been slow, Jameson blamed the fact the rain wasn’t letting up, making most of the Aurorians bundle up at homes with books and warm fires, no need for flowers. Which in his opinion was the best time to get flowers, a way to brighten up when the world was so gloomy. He sighed to himself, misting a few of his orchids as and pruning a few roses. It was just him in the shop that day, no one to keep him company but his own thoughts, until he saw a familiar face run under the awning of his shop, clearly trying to escape the rain. He smiled to himself, setting down his spray bottle and walking over to the front door of the shop, pulling it open and popping his head out, “Need a place to hide out awhile?” He asked Harleen, laughing when she looked at him a little startled, “A lot of shops close on days like this, come on in.” @hvrleens
✧ ○ ° Peace. Calm. Serenity. It was a moment of perfect clarity. Up until she felt someone taking hold of her, Cassidy’s heart leaping into her throat as she let out a yelp and twisted around to see the perpetrator with an ever-familiar voice. “ Jameson, you ass! ” Cassidy playfully swatted at his shoulder, laughing as she did so. “ You’re so lucky I didn’t punch you! ” She’d never purpose do such a thing to him, but if he made a habit of sneaking up on her, she couldn’t make any promises about it not happening accidentally. “ Even if I fell in the water, at least I know you’d be here to jump in and rescue me. But I’m careful, I’m not about to die of hypothermia before I’ve even really started to live my life. ” Cassidy counted the previous years of her life as non-existent. She wasn’t really living, more like following a mold. “ What are you doing out here? I figured you’d be singing to your flowers or batting those eyelashes at new customers. ”
“I mean even if you did punch me it probably would’ve felt like nothing,” Jameson laughed, sliding his hands into his coat pockets, glancing out at the water as she spoke, laughing softly again, “I’m not jumping in that water,” He teased, obviously lying since everyone knew that Jameson would all put catch a bullet for anyone, and especially Cassidy. When she questioned why he was out there he hummed, smiling bashfully when she accused him of flirting with customers, “I stayed the night at the shop, so I wanted to get my morning walk in and decided to come here,” Shoulders shrug slightly as he glanced back at Cassidy, “What about you?”
“Any tips for a hangover?” Connor said as sarcastically as he could. Of course this was a familiar problem to him, and he knew there was really no good cure for it. Sure, maybe it wasn’t a good idea to go clubbing in the middle of the week, but last night had totally been worth it.
“I feel like my heads gonna explode”
“The best cure for a hangover man is Pedialyte and greasy food, want me to take you to Angie’s?” Jameson glanced over at his friend, an amused smile stretched across his face as he sipped at his coffee, “You know you gotta buck up, how much did you even drink last night huh? I’m pretty sure Ms. Greta was out drinking you and she’s in her like nineties.” Jameson teased offhandedly.
in a foggy afternoon ( nothing truly new when it comes to aurora ) and a green park, nova had her eyes glued to a tree. nothing special about it, smaller than its surrounding sisters and leaves definitively not as vibrant. but her paint seemed to MATCH a lot more with this one than any other. she was sure she had some in her cheek, by now. but concentration was something she wasn’t ready break while watercolouring her view on the messy sketch book over her lap. and yet, even though she tried, she couldn’t ignore this person - who seemed to be there simply to block her sight in the distance. this time of the day, and she thought the place would be empty, for christ’s sake. “ —hey you ! ” the gardener called out from her bench, waiting to be heard. “ — could you please move to your left ? a little bit. ”
Jameson was used to Nova’s loud mouth behavior. The girl constantly voicing her thoughts and opinions, letting herself be known, she practically invited every eye to fixate on her when she walked into a room. So hearing her voice, loud and in charge as much as any other day, demanding him to move was no surprise, even if he hadn’t originally noticed her sitting there. He turned to face her, a soft smile plastered on his face as he gave her a small wave, “You could always just sketch me into the drawing,” Jameson hummed as he walked over, going to sit beside her on the bench, “I’m pretty aesthetically pleasing you know,”
delia: anyway, chances of the mill being haunted? i swear the last time i was there (on the west side) it was a lil bit too eerie. the lighthouse gets ALL of the attention, but we might have a completely uncharted (and neglected) paranormal hotspot staring us right in the face
jameson: from what i heard the light house has nothing to do with paranormal and it's all aliens.
jameson: but the mill is totally haunted, i've been dragged out there a few times and i dont care what anyone says there's tons of ghosts
The sound of wet dirt squelching beneath her boots was not a pleasant one, but it eventually gave way to the crunch of gravel and sand. The beach was a place Cassidy frequented often even if it was just to pass by while running errands. Today she had no work and nothing but laundry that she could ignore for another day without worry. Her mind begged for the sweet serenity of the foggy shores and Cassidy obeyed. She’d dawn on her favorite pair of jeans, a shirt, a pair of hiking boots, and her chestnut brown over coat just in case it started to mist and to keep the cold out. Now that she stood on the shores of the bay, she couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief. She never wanted to trade anything for this, the cozy little harbor town that she’d turned into her new home. Cassidy stopped before she was too closer to the water and would risk her boots getting wet. She took in a deep breath, holding her arms out with a smile as she closed her eyes. “I will never get used to this,” she mumbled with a small laugh.
Jameson’s morning ritual was typically coffee, eggy toast, then a walk around the harbor, but today he’d stayed overnight at the shop, sleeping on the futon in the back room rather than his houseboat, finishing up the last few bouquets for Missy Hartwell’s upcoming wedding. Sure it was her third one and the girl was only 23, but she at least felt like the third time was the charm, so of course, Jameson was providing his flowers for her, for the third time. His morning ritual was tweaked to fit his new surrounded, instead of homemade, he opted for the café down the street from his shop, toting an overly expensive black coffee and banana-nut muffin that he devoured in two bites, he made his way down the pebbly shore of Andromeda Beach. It was shocking to see a few familiar faces, considering mostly everyone in Aurora Bay was familiar, but spotting Cassidy was a nice surprise, noticing the small girl was in her own little world, not paying attention to him as he did his best to creep over to her, before reaching out to grab her side, “Boo!” He gasped before laughing loudly when she yelped, a bright smile on his face, “Don’t fall in the water now, it’s freezing.”
━━ ❝ Listen, if Netflix doesn’t renew Black Mirror for season 5 I will literally kill myself. ❞ she stated. ❝ Don’t even tell me you haven’t seen it ‘cause if you haven’t, I’m sorry, but we can’t be friends. ❞ Oriana joked. Kind of.
“Now that’s a pretty dramatic reaction over a tv show that doesn't even make coherent sense you know,” Jameson teased, glancing over at Oriana, a soft smile on his face, “I’m more of a classic Star Wars kind of guy, like when cartoon network came out with the show about the girl with tentacles on her head? My shit, Black Mirror just confuses me.”

(tw: death, cancer, & grief)
Hello all! My name is Mon, I’m EST and Jameson is my lovely lil son here at Aurora Bay. There shouldn’t be any triggers other than death and grief, but if anything stands out to you please lemme know and I’ll tag it ASAP. Any who, if you’d like to plot please hmu or like this and I’ll come to you! I’ll probably come up with a list of wanted connections sometime soon, but don’t hold me too that.
Jameson is originally from Seattle, Washington. He was born and raised there in a pretty typical nuclear family, mom stayed home and occasionally sold the flowers she grew and his father was the breadwinner and had his own law firm that did extremely well, so well in fact that Jameson’s father wanted him to be his partner once he was old enough, and started grooming him into the lifestyle of a well-known criminal defense lawyer from a young age.
Jameson went along with it because he loved his father, so getting to spend time with him when he was usually too busy to come home was amazing. They bonded over it, so much in fact that his father gave him a position at the firm by the time he was sixteen, while he wasn’t necessarily a lawyer, he helped his father out primarily with grunt work such as paper work, researching, and compiling lists of witnesses from the cases. Jameson loved it, almost as he loved spending time in the garden with his mother.
Jameson eventually got into the University of Washington and was studying criminal law, hoping to be the very best like his father when his mother got sick for the first time. Jameson was only eighteen when his mother was first diagnosed with breast cancer, and Jameson gave up school to be with her. He was only twenty when he finally lost his mother, and rather than go back to law school like his father wanted, Jameson wanted to follow in his mother’s footsteps, he wanted to be a florist.
Jameson moved to Aurora Bay to get away from his father, who though was grieving, took out his anger and loss on his son, his excuse being he was throwing his life away by pursuing some hobby that could never be a real job. But Jameson proved him wrong, using his share of his inheritance money from his mother, started up a little flower shop in Downtown Aurora Bay, King Flowers, that has grown very popular over the years.
Jameson is extremely friendly and well liked in Aurora. He tends to help out anyone no matter what, and has a problem when it comes to saying no or realizing when someone’s using him or not. While he’s sweet and caring that doesn't mean he won’t stand up for himself. Jameson can have a temper if the right buttons are pushed.
Some wanted connections I could see for him could be co-workers, someone he’s hired newly or have been working together for awhile so they’re friends, ex-girlfriends, good friends, drinking buddies, favorite customer, basically anything along those lines.
this man next to me is on the phone and he went “are you fucking kidding me right now? are you serious?” then he got up and stood next to a cactus and went “im by my favorite cactus right now, and you’re disrespecting me like this?”
