Okay so a year ago I made a reclist of books that have a similar vibe to Captive Prince, and then @getbeatrized​ commented on it saying that they wish there was one for the Him series by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy. 

Now this isn’t the exact same because they’re not all m/m friends-to-lovers hockey series, but a good few of them are so hopefully they’re useful to someone:

• Season’s Change by Cait Nary (This was a book I really enjoyed and cannot fathom how it has less than 4 stars on goodreads. Like, I debated making a post about it a few weeks ago to try and get people to read and review.)

• Game Changers series by Rachel Reid (Shane and Ilya!!!).

• All of Taylor Fitzpatrick’s hockey books (The author also has an AO3.)

• Scoring Chances series by Avon Gale.

• Catherine Cloud’s books.

hi! not to ask a question about a post you made over a decade ago (lol) but would you by any chance remember where you got this may pang quote from/what the context for it was? From memory:

It's from May Pang's book Loving John. John and Paul met up briefly in 1974, during John's "Lost Weekend". Paul arrived at the studio late one night and John asked him to stay to jam with Harry Nilssen, Stevie Wonder and a few others. A bootleg album was released of the session called A Toot and a Snore in '74.

The next day, Paul and Linda came back to John's with a message from Yoko, basically saying, "if you want me back, you need to do XYZ." John refused to get back with her. Later that night, John began another recording session, minus Paul, but with Ringo. When Ringo arrived and saw his drums he made the "he's always messing with my stuff" comment.

I spoke to my old friend Mitch McConnell this morning. We talked for 12 and a half hours. He told me he couldn't wait for Heated Rivalry Season 2 (specifically the TROPHY ROOM SCENE and the SCENE WITH MARLOW OUTSIDE THE DOOR). Hope to see him back to work as soon as possible.

do you think paul and john would have found their way back to each other?

Absolutely. I personally don't think it would have happened sooner than 1985 though. I know John thought he was having some sort of come to Jesus moment in 1980 where he was making music again and talking about coming back to England, but I just don't see them as that close at that point.

Paul likes to talk about how they were having nice conversations about bread, but if anything that just shows the distance and tension between them. They would not have had a sustainable, long-term friendship until they were able to talk about the Beatles and their relationship within it. And I don't see that happening in the early 80s. Possibly not even the 80s at all.

But old man John and Paul? Besties. They were, as both have admitted in some form or other, part of each other's souls.
