Hello everybody!
Today is a good day. I have some big announcements and I hope youâre as excited as I am about them. Music, audio sitcoms and letâs not forget my glorious book! Here we go!Â
Temps
Iâm about to release some music!
I spent most of the lockdowns of 2020/21 working on music in my flat and am delighted to announce that no,no by Temps will be released on 04/11/22. The track features; Quelle Chris, Xenia Rubinos, NNAMDĂ, Shamir, John Dieterich, Joana Gomila, Laia Vallès and Seb Rochford. Itâs the first single from a bigger project and weâll be putting out a music video to accompany it (filmed by the fantastic Turtle Canyon).
The Temps bandcamp page can be found here:
https://tempsmusic.bandcamp.com/track/no-no And some awesome people will be running social media for all this. You can find that here: https://linktr.ee/tempsmusic This is the first release of many and I canât wait for you to hear everything weâve been working on.Â
Springleaf
Iâm launching a Kickstarter for a brand new audio sitcom!
On Tuesday 1st November, at 10am, I'm launching a Kickstarter for my new comedy podcast SPRINGLEAF (www.springleafpodcast.com) It's a true crime podcast, using undercover cop Pat Springleaf's wire recordings to blow apart the biggest case he ever worked on. It's a ten-part, limited series, scripted audio comedy and it is something I've wanted to make for absolutely years. We've decided to go the independent route to fund it, because we want to have complete creative control and want to make it available for everyone to listen to, not stuck behind a paywall. However, it turns out making scripted comedy is not as cheap as I thought it would be - and we want everyone involved to be paid fairly - hence the Kickstarter. We've come up with some pretty sweet rewards at a range of price levels, things like:
Exclusive video downloads
Backer exclusive mini-episode
Tickets for online events, in-person gigs and the launch party
Badges, signed postcards and stickers
Signed scripts
Personalised video messages from James
Some of these rewards are limited edition, and there's limited early-bird pricing too - to get in first, you can follow the Kickstarter page now to be notified the second it launches on Tuesday. You can also follow @springleafpod on Twitter and Instagram for campaign updates. And if you'd like to support this but money is tight at the moment, then we'd also really appreciate any retweets/re-grams/general spreading the word - it's all-or-nothing funding, so if we don't hit the target by the end of November, we can't make the series. Which, I think you'll agree, would be a real shame. A note from my producer: We've had someone generously offer to sponsor ten Tier 1 Springleaf rewards for anyone who would like to support the campaign, but isn't able to commit the cash. If that sounds like you, drop us an email at [email protected] - no need to justify your financial situation or anything, just express your interest. We'll randomly choose ten people from all those who ask.
James Acasterâs Guide to Quitting Social Media
My book is now available to pre-order in the US and Canada!
Itâs been a few weeks since JAMES ACASTER'S GUIDE TO QUITTING SOCIAL MEDIA, BEING THE BEST YOU YOU CAN BE AND SAVING YOURSELF FROM LONELINESS VOL. 1 entered the universe and people all over the world are living their best lives.
Hereâs how my book has changed the lives of REAL ACTUAL PEOPLE: *****
âLaughed so much I nearly choked to death on a Jacobs cream crackerâ ***** ď¸ď¸ď¸ď¸Â ď¸âLove this book. Maybe donât read if you are looking for actual self-help.â ***** ď¸ď¸ď¸ď¸Â ď¸âHad to write this before I tarred my phone and got on a train to a lock upâŚ. Please buy this book, or as I did, listen in audible for that extra special Acaster touch.â ***** ď¸ď¸ď¸ď¸Â ď¸âI used to be a stand-up comedian, then I read this book, quit social media, and now I'm an undercover cop, totally worth ÂŁ14!â ***** ď¸ď¸ď¸ď¸Â ď¸ âFollowing the advice in this book and going full cold turkey offline will of course mean you can no longer post a glowing review thanking James for making your life so much better. That's probably why there aren't millions of five star reviews here.â ***** ď¸ď¸
If you havenât read it yet, why? Unless youâre in North America, in which case, do I have good news for you. My book is available to pre-order now from all good US and Canadian booksellers! Coming 22nd November, so enjoy your precious doom scrolling while you can.

Dave launches two comedy podcasts - Hypothetical spin-off with James Acaster and Josh Widdicombe, plus new format with Jordan Brookes
Hypothetical spin-off with James Acaster and Josh Widdicombe, plus new format with Jordan Brookes
The Dave comedy channel is to launch two new comedy podcasts with James Acaster, Josh Widdicombe and Jordan Brookes.
Widdicombe and Acasterâs show is based on their TV format Hypothetical â but this time they must answer absurd theoretical questions instead of asking them. Each episode will feature a comedian guest host interrogating them on their answers.Â
Widdicombe said: âI have always thought the main issue with the TV show is that you can see me and James. Delighted we have solved this problem with a spin-off podcast where you only have to put up with our voices.â
Acaster added: âAfter years of delighting in the panic of our guests, Josh and I canât wait to see how much easier answering hypotheticals is for a couple of cool cucumbers like us. Bring it on.â
In Look At What Youâve Done, Brookes interviews comedy guests about their life. But while it starts as a traditional chat, the podcast takes a surreal turn as the conversation imagines each guestâs future life right up to death. The broadcaster describes it as âThis is Your Life, but with an existential, comedic twistâ
Brookes said: âIâm delighted to have made this podcast, featuring some ridiculously talented comics who were willing/stupid enough to explore the entirety of their lives with me. I hope you like listening to it as much as we did recording it.â
Iain Coyle, head of comedy entertainment at Daveâs parent company UKTV, said: âWe are delighted to bring these podcasts to the Dave stable. It feels a natural move for the channel to bring the best comedy talent to the ears of the British public.
âHypothetical is a brilliant TV show and this podcast isnât just a great accompaniment to the series but a very funny listen in its own right. And Jordan is a unique talent and Iâm so pleased to be working with him on Look at What Youâve Done, itâs a brilliant take on the biographical interview show with some great guests.
Hypothetical: The Podcast launches on May 5 and Jordan Brookes: Look At What Youâve Done will land later in the month.Â
