You have these lines you won’t cross. But then you cross them. And suddenly you possess the very dangerous information that you can break the rule and the world won’t instantly come to an end. You’ve taken a big, black, bold line and you’ve made it a little bit gray. And now every time you cross it again, it just gets grayer and grayer until one day you look around and you think, There was a line here once, I think.
[ Riley Keough | 37 | female/questioning | she/they ] Hey, look! It’s [JAMES MORRISON] at [THE TREASURE CHEST]. Did you know they [WORK] there as a [RETAIL WORKER]? I guess they’re from [EAST HAVEN] and have been back in town for [6 YEARS], living in [SUTHERLAND PARK]. I also heard they’re a little [MESSY], but also very [ADVENTUROUS] which definitely makes sense.
More Information
James was born in January 1986, and lived with her parents in the family trailer. Her mother didn’t have a job, and her father was a contractor. He left mother and child when James was 5.
Her mother had to find a job, but when she did, she stopped taking care of her daughter : she was too busy with the job, and too busy with odd acquaintances and substances. James had to basically raise herself from the age of 7 years old, when the rest of the family stopped showing up.
It was school that called child services two years after, when the whole secret was discovered. They started getting suspicious when James showed up with the same clothes for the whole week and her hair started getting matted, or when she admitted she skipped several meals.
She went through several foster families until she turned 18. That’s when she got her first waitress position in a diner. She kept in touch with her last fosters, whom she likes very much.
She is creative, easy-going, and stubborn. She loves her independence more than anything, even though she has to remain wise most of the time, because of her daughter, Adaline, who will turn seven on September 17th 2023. That baby wasn’t planned, and James thought of giving her up for adoption until the day she gave birth. The nurses put the baby in her arms despite James imploring them not to do it, and the mother has never let go of the baby since.
Her dream has always been to become a stylist, but she only now started studies again. So for now, she lives off one of her hobbies : thrift shopping.
She was married once, but doesn’t believe in great love anymore. She thinks men are a waste of her heart’s time, even though she still gives in sometimes. She doesn’t realize this is big on daddy issues.
