2024.5.16: snacks + rainy vibes!! had my usual lectures but then went to visit the architecture building just to switch things up
05.04.24: i'm starting to study cartesian spaces!! coooool. also iced chocolate!
‘Love is the one thing that we’re capable of perceiving that transcends dimensions of time and space.’
HUUUGS
Took me until about halfway through college before I realized “study” means “play with the material in a variety of ways until you understand it” and not just “read the assigned chapters and do the homework” and I think that probably should have been discussed at some point prior to that.
01.16.24: was in the lab today for a frankly inordinate amount of time. finished our circuit--YEAH!!!--but my lab partner and i are going to have to come in again tomorrow to present ⚡⚡⚡
(also, is it just me or is Lab Partners to Lovers an underused trope? or maybe i just think my partner's cute lmao)

Writing Something New
aka doing a blatant self-insert about the conversations that i wish would happen in my field. for context, jaime is the self-insert (a transmasc engineering student) and alex is his lab partner who is his friend (and possibly something more...?)
12.11.23: had programming class today! and oddly enough all of the desktops were replaced by lab equipment ... i was also this close to napping during class because oop is boringgg
11.30.23: i'm tired but happy! november's been kinda rough, but that's just par for the course. at the end of the day, i'm still having fun 📚
Mahmoud by Maya Abu Al-Hayyat tr. by Fady Joudah
30.10.23: october's finally finishing up! i studied math and then went over some of the materials for my majors. took a walk afterwards to clear my head. started reading maggie nelson's the argonaut as well ✨
Do a quaternion sound like a thing a rational person would think of, give me a break
did you know they say calculus is the language of God. did you know they tried to hold math up to infinity like a candle to the void. did you know statisticians plunged into the vastness of random chance and picked out patterns and equations and eight hundred ways to tell you how big your inevitable errors are and how far off those guesses at errors might be. math haters I can't sit with you anymore. human innovation is cradled in these ancient, methodical, desperate attempts at understanding what we are not designed to understand
Alice Te Punga Somerville, Always Italicise: How to Write While Colonised - Kupu rere kē
[ID: A poem titled: Kupu rere kē. [in italics] My friend was advised to italicise all the foreign words in her poems. This advice came from a well-meaning woman with NZ poetry on her business card and an English accent in her mouth. I have been thinking about this advice. The convention of italicising words from other languages clarifies that some words are imported: it ensures readers can tell the difference between a foreign language and the language of home. I have been thinking about this advice. Marking the foreign words is also a kindness: every potential reader is reassured that although you’re expected to understand the rest of the text, it’s fine to consult a dictionary or native speaker for help with the italics. I have been thinking about this advice. Because I am a contrary person, at first I was outraged — but after a while I could see she had a point: when the foreign words are camouflaged in plain type you can forget how they came to be there, out of place, in the first place. I have been thinking about this advice and I have decided to follow it. Now all of my readers will be able to remember which words truly belong in -[end italics]- Aotearoa -[italics]- and which do not.

Tag 9 People You Want to Get to Know Better
Thanks for the tag @gohandinhand
favourite colour: Blue generally in all of it's various forms, but also shout out to green, preferably a deep evergreen (can you tell I want to go to the rain forest in WA and just sit?)
currently reading: So I'm sort of reading She Gets the Girl (I'm one page in) but Gideon the Ninth is sitting in my nightstand. I'm also reading the Circadian Rhythm but my brain has about as much interest in finishing it as it does improving my sleep schedule.
last song: Did I make You Up - half-alive it's a vibe
last series: I just watched the newest Ahsoka episode, and started the first episode of Shelter (I started it for lesbians and the vibe is totally different than I thought it would be)
last movie: Finally watched Shiva Baby like a year after my friend recommended it. I needed to fill my Rachel Sennett quote while I wait for Bottoms to release tomorrow. It was every bit as stressful as I knew it would be and I loved it
sweet/savoury/spicy: This is a revolving door answer that is totally dependent on the time and place but probably spicy atm.
currently working on: So many things I have a problem. Actively have the last chapter of my willow prequel fic open and the Avatrice big bang au. Also working on some Tanthamore snippets for next month, as well as boxing au for them, and my tlou au for Avatrice. (Also have a fully finished chapter for the summer au that I need to just edit but my writing style has changed so much since i was posting that fic I'm embarrassed to update it)
@book-and-music-lover @daisychainsandbowties @you-cant-make-me @pachase @sarcasticalliespeaking @inversetwilight @acre-of-wheat @scooby-doo-creepymechclown @lexa-griffins
I'm just doing it on your post. Anyway, thank you kindly.
Favorite color: Also blue but like Azure or Admiral. Both are just very beautiful colors.
Currently Reading: The Light Between Oceans (again). This book kills me every time but it is also so good that I just deal with it.
Last Song: I feel like this isn't fair cause I'm currently listening to whatever music pops up, but Breakfast by Dove Cameron
Last Series: I don't even know. I've just been watching bad movies so I haven't really gotten into any new shows. So, I guess the answer would be Spongebob.
Last Movie: Scooby-Doo! Camp Scare. I remembered this movie existed and decided I was gonna live up to my username for once.
Sweet/Savory/Spicy: All of them. It is entirely dependent on my mood.
Currently Working On: My TMFUxWN fic that is a mess and a half. People think I am so good at creating ideas and I am laughing cause if you watch even the first two minutes of this movie you will realize I am so uncreative with this au it isn't even funny. But it's also the longest fic I have and I will break 100k on AO3 because of it so that is exciting.
Tagging: @imhumanguysiswear @the-ominous-owl @denkryn @acequidwrites @capitano-marina @indrikazul @bechloesupercorp @peanutworm @princington and anyone else who wants to play
I am putting so much pressure on all you people it isn't even funny
Thanks for the tag, Scooby! (also hiii warrior nun fam)
favorite color: oscillating of late, love a nice lavender or light green though
currently reading: recently finished Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel and i just cannot recommend it (and everything by her more highly.) one of my top authors of all time. every book she writes changes my life.
last song: stress by the perennial loml kim taeyeon. its ok babe u can make ur comeback soon....anytime now....
last series: SEVERANCE. severance. everyone go watch severance. thoroughly fascinating. soooo delicious and munchy and captivating. and i guess currently would be ahsoka in an incredibly real way
last movie: Joy Ride lol. guilty pleasure fun with some (surprisingly!) genuinely touching moments
sweet/savory/spicy: spicyyyy
currently working on: exorcising the wolfwren brainworms. jk im not exorcising anything im letting them possess my body and use me like a sock puppet. but not fic related, i'm planning a korean wlw romcom novel! super excited about it, mind very much whirring. tfw your representation is so abysmal you have to do it yourself 😩. (also almost finished developing an incredibly mid writing productivity app, so all my writers....hmu if you're interested in beta-testing 🥹)
Tagging: @that-one-scared-gay @b0lu0mi @whatwordsmiss @orfanmakr
thank you for the tag!! let's chat (also. i would love to beta-test that app)
favourite colour: yellow!
currently reading: PANENKA by Rónán Hession. i couldn't exactly get into it at first but it gets more and more interesting as it goes along! excited to see where it goes
last song: honey by samia. i cannot recommend this song enough. please go bless your ears
last series: it's been a while and i genuinely can't remember if i've finished a series more recently than the one i'm about to name, but i think it's Never Have I Ever? and i love this series. i love the representation and it's one of those shows where there's 4 seasons but all 4 are great
last movie: red white and royal blue. i lost my mind. also my gay best friend is lowkey mad at me for watching it without him but i'm sorry i couldn't resist
sweet/savoury/spicy: would i even be a true asian if i didn't say spicy?
currently working on: studying for my year-end exams... with regard to writing i actually haven't touched any of my wips or even made a new one since june because i've been so busy :( but i am excited to get back to the altered genome au, and of course the badminton au!
tagging: @itscappyj @burythel1ght @jammingkambing @tiredwriter888 @softpluto @the-penguinspy @smokestarrules @cobaltdaitain @kendrene
THANKS FOR THE TAG!! idk how this works but i will try my best!!!
fave color: red!!
currently reading: The Vegetarian by Han Kang. it's one of those books where you don't actually enjoy/like it but it's still very oddly fascinating for how it approaches writing, society and all that jazz. thematically, it's kind of like Lolita by Nabokov but it's more surreal
last song: Make It With You. it's very nice to sing along to while washing the dishes!!
last series: one piece!! i watched the live action when it was released, and now i'm catching up to the anime. my fave characters are sanji and zoro!!
last movie: Barbie!! i mean i liked it well enough but it's not one of my Top 3 Feminist Movies of All Time yk?
sweet/savoury/spicy: as a filipino who cooks on a regular basis, the right answer here is sweet, savoury AND spicy!!
currently working on: studying circuit analysis for my exams in october! re: writing, i'm working on a pride-themed fic but it's going pretty slowly 🥲🥲🥲
