I got rained on and almost struck by lightning. It was awesome.
This one means something super specific to me, but I am incredibly curious how other people might perceive it. There's a juxtaposition that kinda evolved through different iterations of this song, and that is the subject matter and the descriptors of said subject matter. The song about a "snowball" uses absolutely nothing that denotes the cold, but rather it does the exact opposite describing the effects as "sparks" and burning.
There's a nostalgia called to mind in the last verse, but the rest of the song is very present, as the object picks up steam and tumbles down the mountain. Times are getting weird.
When I was a kid there was a kid on my street who was kinda mean to me and I never knew why. I remember them telling me to run away from them, and I did. They threw a rock at me which they tried to later say was only a snowball. It wasn't even winter. It fucking hurt lol:) The song isn't really about that encounter, but the initial imagery was spawned from remembering.
This track likely won't make it to the new record, so I wanted to share it here in in demonic lo-fi glory. Anyways, here's a picture of my cat pumpkin being cozy.
I "forgot" to put lyrics in the last demo post, so here are the lyrics for your reading pleasure:
It cascades through an open glade
It's turning shadows into shade
Its winding whispers can't explain
It knows my heart it knows my name
It's laughing as I run away
It's building inch by inch each day
It simply waits for me to break
It burns my eyes keeps me awake
It's beating down a trodden path
It's jumping fences and echoed laughs
It sparks and trembles soon with wrath
It stakes its claim and draws the map
