hey pals! my boyfriend was in the ICU recently where he almost died because his pharmacy REFUSED to give him his insulin AGAIN because he was a few days late on insurance payments. They put his medicine on hold even after receiving the payments. He almost went in to a diabetic coma, stayed in the ICU for two days, which gave us a hefty medical bill. We are struggling to pay for not only our rent, pets and my heart medications but now his insulin and a ridiculous medical bill.
I’m asking for help so we can afford our monthly rent & help with his medical bill so we can actually buy his insulin this time and avoid another ICU visit.

Just had my nth conversation with someone about mask-wearing today - yet another well-intentioned moron who was like
‘But the virus is gone now’ (it isn’t)
‘But the mask is uncomfortable’ (ventilators are worse)
‘But you’re young, you won’t die’ (having this thing could impact my health for decades to come + it’s my responsability to protect those who’re more vulnerable than I am because that’s how society works)
‘But are you going to live in fear for the rest of your life’ (taking concrete safety measures actually helps me feel more in control and less worried)
‘But are you going to give up everything and stay inside like a rat’ (no, but I’m definitely going to decide what’s worth risking my health for, and shopping for bread rolls is not very high on my list of literally-to-die-for activities)
‘But what if they never find a vaccine’ (then we’ll get used to the situation just like we got used to a thousand other things like seat belts, bike helmets, and increasingly weird true crime podcasts).
I know it’s tiring to have people call you paranoid all the time - but you’re right and they’re wrong. Check the news, keep a safe distance from others whenever possible and keep wearing your mask!

You guys, I reblogged this 2 days ago out of desperation. Today I was looking through my old wallet for coins to go to the vending machine because that’s all I can fucking afford. I haven’t touched this thing since July/ August. When I found a disappointing 15 cents in the coin pocket I went to the billfold to see if any coins were in there. That’s when I saw them. 5 crisp bills amounting to $22. I literally screamed and danced around my room out of joy before remembering that I’d reblogged this post.
