Yep.
I’d only say that if I wanted to keep your humiliation to a minimum and stick to telling the truth.
Told you so.
Humiliation to a minimum? Now I actually want to know what you would tell him Stark.

Yep. It was almost too easy.
That’s funny. I’m enjoying a good laugh. I almost want to call him up and tell him.
That's what you said last time... and I'm sure this one was much more easier.
No. What would you say anyway? 'That minor superhero that can shrink to the size of a wasp wanted your autograph'? Yes... because that's humiliating....
She’s had years of practice and she gives as good as she gets.
They’re already gone. If Harry hadn’t been home for the holidays I’m sure I would have gotten a call from someone. Do you want an autograph or something?
Oh wow... I really did set that one up.
Maybe.....
It’s a gift, what can I say?
Ignoring Christmas presents and busting up some ice in Antarctica.
I do wonder how Pepper copes sometimes. Wow... I'm setting up another one for myself, aren't I?
Can you see Prince Harry and Alexander Skarsgård, since you're down there?
Nope, didn’t try at all. What are you up to?
I do believe you did have to try...
Wrapping up christmas gifts and ignoring reports... you?
Did it hurt to admit that? Do you need to lay down?
You walked right into it. I didn’t even have to try very hard.
I think I might, Stark. I think I might.
No... I think you did have to try on that one, Stark.
I wasn’t going to just take their crap without correcting them. I wanted their obvious bias to show. I managed to gain the approval of the public even if the press was against me.
Do you want to know the last time she hurt me? I didn’t really think you’d be interested in that part of my life.
Fine then... You did come well out of it - for the most part....
That was not what I meant and you know that, Stark.
I had the press on my back anyway. It didn’t matter too much how I dealt with them.
What makes you think she hasn’t?
Domino effect....
True... she probably has.... She hasn't hurt you again yet? That better?
consulting-mechanic replied to your post “What's your biggest pet peeve?”
Oh, please, I've been dealing with the press since before you were born.
True... but you have more press on your back because of your 'dealings'. I'm surprised Pepper hasn't hurt you yet because of it :P
What's your biggest pet peeve?
When people think they can take on the press without briefing... *cough* STARK *cough*
And stains on clothing....
Making My Way Downtown|| Janet & Darcy
Darcy continued to follow after the other. She seemed nice and Darcy could see them getting on pretty well. ”Great. I’d like it back if it’s not completely wiped.” She replied as they waited for the elevator.
"Don’t worry about that. I had to share space with Jane all the time so it’s all good. We didn’t even really have an office, so sharing one will be just fine." Darcy assured her as she got in the elevator. "Oh I do love me some caffeine so that’s perfect. I’m sure we’ll figure something out if it does break. Maybe hit it a few times to see if that fixes it." She chuckled.
Darcy nodded and walked towards the now shared office. ”I’m sure you’ll want me out of your hair soon.” She said, smiling. ”Thanks.” Darcy walked into the office and looked around, it really was quite roomy. She went over and plopped down in one of the more comfortable looking chairs and took in the view. ”Yeah this is quite nice. Could use with a bit more decorating, but nice.”
Janet laughed slightly "Don't think of it as wanting you out of my hair, think of it as me wanting you to have your own space!" She smiled slightly at Darcy and sat down. "If that helps at all..." She shrugged and continued to smile at the young girl before her.
"I guess it could do with a bit of a repaint...."Janet glanced around the room a little to see if there was anything she could 'get away with' redecorating. Since this building and her office were SHIELD and government property she wasn't very sure if there was anything specifically that could be "or a few throw pillows..."
"Sit down if you want! I doubt we'll be spending much time in here anyway..." Janet smiled, beamed, at Darcy and glanced over to the smallish pile of reports she'd let build up. She'd moved onto email a while ago, but some reporters had cordoned on to the fact that if they annoyed her, she would class them as junk or block them from her email. She then glanced away, trying to avoid the subject of that work that they would have to do eventually. "Because we'll have interviews and conferences to plan out and go to instead of being here!"

"I’m fairly certain I can handle going a few more minutes without caffeine." She said, smiling at the woman. "Thanks for the offer I suppose." Darcy got comfortable and waited for the other to answer her. "Ooo I like more money." Darcy grinned. "Keep telling me more good news."
"Right so I’m not going to be your slave, this just keeps continuing to sound better and better as you keep talking." Darcy said, nodding at Janet’s words. "Gotta make our sugar daddy happy, check. Though I’m still not happy with Coulson stealing my iPod and never returning it. I’ll try and remain civil though."
Darcy nodded and stood up. ”Yeah that would be great. Do I get my own office? Jane never let me have an office. She hardly let me touch anything at first.” She said, waiting for the other to stand up. ”Lead the way Boss Lady.” Darcy said excitedly.
"I think we'd all enjoy that!" Jan beamed and laughed slightly,as she still listened to Darcy. She could see them getting on well, very well, in the coming weeks, months, however long they worked together. "We'll what we can do about your iPod." Janet grinned at Darcy as she led the way to the elevator.
"It's not quite your own office yet, you'll be sharing mine - which is defiantly big enough for the both of us. It's not like we can put our arms out and draw on each wall if we have pencils in our hands." Jan pushed the button to the level 12. "And you don't have to worry about coffee, I've got a really good machine. But that machine sometimes 'breaks' around the time we a lot of paper reports in."
The doors opened before them, opening onto the corridor of offices. Jan walked to the nearest one and opened it - a number 1208. "Here we are. I'm not sure if you'll get a separate office nearby soon, because North hasn't talked to me about that yet - but it will probably be on this floor." Janet smiled once again at Darcy. "Don't worry about it though, make yourself at home!"
If I've got to be up before the crack of noon...
Reporters are scum sucking bottom-dwellers. I prefer lawyers to reporters. I prefer criminals to both.
Have fun with them. Be creatively evasive when you aren’t hiding anything, it drives them nuts.
I’m doing fine. Just taking advantage of some downtime. You?
Yes because I'm sure everyone can do the great Tony Stark 'I am Iron Man' reveal.
But you are right, I haven't had more fun then when I have nothing to hide.
I'm avoiding the giant pile of press reports I need to read, so pretty good really.

"Only speaking the truth." Darcy smiled and shook the other woman’s hand. Darcy had never really met a stranger. She didn’t always like people, but she wasn’t afraid to say what she wanted, regardless of the consequences. She figured if people accepted her for it then they were worth keeping around, otherwise, she had no use for them.
"Yeah I know who you are." She nodded. "And I’m Darcy Lewis, in case that isn’t blatantly obvious." Darcy replied, smiling. "It’s nice to meet you as well. I have to admit I was a bit surprised about this new job talk, but I’m kind of excited. I mean I love Jane and her work, but I don’t exactly understand it as much as I’m sure I’m supposed to."
Darcy sat down beside Jan and then gave her a look. ”Of course you’d offer caffeine once I’ve already sat down. Eh it’s fine, I’ve already had one cup today, wouldn’t want to get all jittery or anything.” She said, leaning back in her seat. ”So I’m going to be your new assistant right? What’s the difference in that and being an intern?”
"Sorry about that, it just hit me that it's not really that far." She laughed slightly and leaned back in the chair slightly. Her smiled continued after she lost her laughter. Janet thought over Darcy's question, thinking out the parts of the job she was giving the girl. "Well, to start with, you'll be paid more."
"I'm not expecting you to do coffee runs or anything like that" She continued to smile honestly at the girl. "More just help me out with reports, interviews and anything like that. We're involved mostly with just the Avengers side, but we might have to do some SHIELD announcements - since they pay our pay checks." Janet laughed slightly and smiled at Darcy. "Do you want to see where you'll be working, then?"
Janet smiled and leaned forwards slightly, placing her arms on the tops of her knees and grabbing her phone and report from the table before them. "Unless you want to review this report down here, which is no where near as interesting."
If I've got to be up before the crack of noon...
Might as well get some work done.
Looks like nothing’s happening. I’ll just have some fun then.
Nothing's happening? I wish someone would tell the press that.
Oh wait... that's my job. How are you, Stark?
As long as there’s nothing urgent to attend to, I’d say you deserve a chance to get away from the headaches that we work with
Black coffee. I mean black.
I don't think there's anything I need to do right now.... Other than draft a few press reports.
Got it!
Making My Way Downtown|| Janet & Darcy
Darcy had continued working with Jane after the shit storm that happened in New York thanks to Loki. She liked the science stuff and enjoyed meeting Thor, but Darcy was kind of happy to try something else out. She’d been asked by S.H.I.E.L.D, the same people that stole her iPod, to be assistant to one Janet Van Dyne. Darcy wasn’t really familiar with her, but nonetheless was excited for a new adventure. Besides, assistant was better than intern right?
She hadn’t been given much information, being told that everything would be explained at the meeting. Darcy made her way to the place that she was supposed to be meeting her new boss. She wondered what Jane would think about this whole thing. Darcy hadn’t really gotten a chance to talk to her about it, but she was sure that Jane would be fine with it.
Darcy wondered if she’d have to be on tv with this new press thing. She would be excited about that if so. She’d always thought it would be kind of cool to be on tv and tell everyone what’s up. Though not the news, the news was generally boring.
She walked in and looked around. Pulling out her phone she googled the woman that she was supposed to meet. She spotted her across the way. Darcy pocketed her phone and walked over to her. ”Your hair looks much better like this.” She said, comparing the picture to the woman that stood in front of her.
Janet was glancing at her phone when she saw a young woman walk in. She assumed that was Darcy, but did not say anything. She wanted to be sure and searching for 'Darcy Lewis' on any part of the internet would be damn near impossible to find anyone that was not some form of the Pride and Prejudice character - let alone the right person.
She wished she had remembered to look at her picture.
When the brunette approached her she found her assumption was correct, almost laughing at what she said and standing up to welcome her. "Well thanks..." She grinned slightly and offered her hand out for the woman to shake.
"Hi, I'm Janet Van Dyne," Jan was hesitant, of course the girl probably already knew that but she hadn't really cared - her father, bless his soul, had brought her up to be polite and proper in these situations, so she would be. "It's nice to finally meet you Miss Lewis!"
Jan sat back down and smiled at Darcy. "Sit down, if you want," She continued to smile as she spoke. "We can go out to the coffee shop about a block away if you don't want to stay here..." she beamed at the girl, pushing her hair over her ears as she did so.
