āBaby, where do you keep the popcorn bowl again?ā Yunho yelled from your kitchen.
āIt should be in the cabinet to the right of the microwave.ā
You heard him rustle through the cabinet before he shouted again, āOh! I found it!ā
āYun my apartment isnāt that big. You donāt have to yell,ā you laughed softly at him from your spot on the couch.
He gave a soft āsorryā before going back to his search.
You had offered to help him make the popcorn several times, but heād insisted that you let him do something nice for you. The amount of nice things he did for you were nearly countless, but you didnāt mind letting him have this gesture too even if you were a little worried that your apartment might smell of burnt popcorn for the next three days.
Nevertheless, you let him have his moment. He loved taking care of you, so who were you to take that away from him? Especially when it meant you could stay cuddled up on the couch with your hot chocolate, scrolling through streaming services to find a suitable movie for your date night.
When you finally settle on a movie, you peer over to your boyfriend in the kitchen. Heās dumped the bag of popcorn into a bowl and is digging around in your cabinets for more snacks to go with the popcorn.Ā
Heās so focused. You love how serious he is about things like this. He cares so much about even the little things, and he never fails to make you feel so special.Ā
It took him a couple of minutes, but, when he plopped himself on the couch beside you, he came armed with plenty of snacks. Not just the popcorn, but he also had a variety of chips and chocolates, too.
āWow, you really spoil me,ā you said, reaching for the popcorn bowl. When you placed the bowl in your lap, he immediately stuck his hand into it and grabbed a fistful of popcorn. āOk, now youāre just being greedy.ā
He laughed and kissed your forehead before shoving the food into his mouth rather ungracefully. As gross as you may have found it, you did love the fact that he felt so comfortable around you. Even if it meant being a victim to some of his obnoxious behaviors.
āWhat movie did you choose?ā He asked, pulling your legs over his thighs so that you were basically in his lap.
āBarbie Princess Charm School,ā you said, gesturing to the TV with the remote.
āSeriously?ā he smiled down at you, eyebrows raised. He was making fun of you, but you were standing your ground.
āYep! It is a vital part of my childhood, and itās a crime you have never seen it.ā You poked him in the chest, āAnd it is my turn to pick the movie, remember?ā
He loved how passionate you were about this. The only reason he teased you over it was because he loved to see you so adamantly fight for why the movie was worth watching.Ā
When you pressed play on the movie, Yunho leaned back into the couch, pulling you with him.Ā
āHow was your day?ā he muttered, running a hair over your hair.Ā
You looked up at him and hummed, running your hand over his chest and playing with the fabric of his hoodie, āIt was alright. Weāre still pretty short-staffed staffed so things have been hectic, but tips have been good. So I guess that makes up for it.ā
He gently grabbed your hand and kissed your knuckles, āIām sure youāll find more people soon.ā
You sighed, āI hope.ā
āBaby, if you need a break, take one, okay? I know you donāt like financial help, but Iām always here for you,ā he lowered your hand back to his chest and kissed your forehead again, āDonāt overwork yourself.ā
āThank you, baby.ā
He looked down at you. It was obvious from the bags under your eyes and the tone of your voice when talking about work that you were stressed. The biggest sign of your anxiety was that you were fidgeting with your hands quite a bit. Thatās why heād made a point to kiss your knuckles, he wanted you to understand with every part of you, both conscious and subconscious, that he was going to take care of you.Ā
āHey,ā he started, wanting to get your mind off work, āDidnāt you get lunch with that high school friend of yours?ā
āOh yeah! I meant to tell you about that.ā
āHowād that go?ā He encouraged.
He watched you very adamantly as you spoke of the little lunch date youād had with an old friend. It had gone well from the looks of things. From the remembering smile on your face to the levity of your tone, he could tell that this meal had brought some sort of solace to your rather hectic life.Ā
It wasnāt long into your story though, that Yunho noticed you had started playing with the strings of his hoodie. He smiled fondly. He was pretty sure you never really noticed it. It felt more like a habit.
Nonetheless, he enjoyed watching you fiddle with the strings. Tying them into bows and knots as you talked. It gave you something to do with your hands, and that fact alone made Yunho incredibly happy. He was able to give you something, even if it was a minute gesture, to calm your nerves.Ā
The both of you forgot about the movie completely. Though you both never fully watched the movies you put on anyway. It always ended this way. One of you talking about your life while the other listened. Peacefully eating snacks and occasionally watching the movie in its final moments.
āBut, yeah, it was really good to see them again,ā you smiled softly at him.
āIām glad you had fun, baby,ā he leaned down toward your face again, this time kissing you on the lips. He was so gentle in moments like these.Ā
It was a simple gesture of his love for you, but you loved how he could make soft, quiet moments even more beautiful with a small kiss.
You did, however, pull on the strings of his hoodie, trying to pull him closer to you. He grinned against your lips, laughing just a bit.
Pulling back you looked at him, slightly confused, āWhat?ā
āWhat do you mean?ā
You were really confused now, āYou laughed at me?ā
āI donāt know what youāre talking about,ā his smile only grew.
āYunho,ā you hit him in the chest, though, not very hard.
āIām just teasing you, baby,ā he pecked your lips again.
You scoffed playfully, poking his cheek, āWell stop teasing me.ā
āOkay, no more teasing,ā he grabbed the hand you had by his face and pressed it to his chest. He brought his lips to yours one more time for good measure. This time letting it last a few more seconds before pulling back a couple of inches from your face, āI love you.ā He whispered.
It was your turn to smile stupidly at him, āI love you, too.ā
You pulled him back down and kissed him. He couldnāt help but grin again at the fact that you had pulled him to you with your hands tangled in his hoodie strings.

vernon: vernon rolls with the punches in most any circumstance, and this is no exception. like Yeahā¦.this shit sucksā¦.but you guys are best friends, so he has to deal with it. i donāt think this would affect him too much tbh,,,like i think the fact that heās in love with you is something he rarely even admits to himself. i feel like he always has it in the back of his mind, but nothing more than that. i think heād be able to ignore his feelings the most successfully out of all the members because vernonās realistic with himself and he knows thereās no point in being hurt over something thatās out of his control. none of this stops him from loving you, but thatās something for him to know and you to never find out lol. seungkwan knows about vernonās feelings btw. he (vernon) figures that if he had to tell anyoneā¦it would be him, and for whatever reason, he felt compelled to tell at least one person about all of this. vernon doesnāt know why, but it feels better knowing that someone knows his true feelings, even if that someone isnāt, and probably can never be, you.
s.coups: you know that face he makes after the girl rejects him in mansae??? Yeah. Yeah thatās him at all times lmao. he cant say hes mad at anyone in this situation, except maybe the universe lmao. i think he just regards this whole situation has his lifeās hugest bruh moment LOL. heās gotten okay at pretending like everythingās fine when heās around you, because in his mind, thereās nothing else he can do. there was no way he was going to end his friendship with you, but there was also no way he could confess his feelings to you. in private, heās talked to some of the boys about it in private - mostly jeonghan and joshua, but sometimes when heās feeling particularly frustrated with the situation, he goes to woozi, who is able to ground him every time he feels like he canāt take it anymore. seungcheol knows that to others, being friends with you while still being in love with you doesnāt make the slightest bit of sense; but if it meant you were still in his life to some capacity, that was all that mattered to him.
joshua: the definition of smiling thru the painā¦like heās literally katy perry They ask you how you sre and you just have to say that youre fine even though youre not fine like. i think more than anything, heās not too torn up over this situation than he is irritated. the mention of your partner makes his eye twitch LMFAO. like when you come back from going on a trip with them, you start telling joshua about everything you did together and heās like THATāS SO COOL Y/N . IāM SO GLAD YOU GUYS HAD FUN. *eye twitch* LOL. tries his best not to go overboard with it or make it obvious that heās being sarcastic - heās aware enough to know that your happiness is important and that unless thereās a legit reason one day, he doesnt have any grounds for disliking your s/o too LOL. i think heās probably overly cautious if you ever tell him that you and your s/o were having problems as well. like he would be try really hard to be neutral if you ever asked him for his opinion on a situation that happened between you and your partner. i think he would feel guilty about being your confidant while having these feelings for you,,as much as he wants to tell you to break up with them and be with him instead, he knows how terribly selfish of him it would be to put you in that situation. so, he endures it everyday.
dk: dudeā¦ā¦HE IS ALSO SMILING THROUGH THE PAINā¦..but like HES ALSO CRYINGā¦.SO BADā¦.like. he tries REALLY hard to keep everything lighthearted around you - any time the conversation gets even close to being serious, he always pivots to a different topic. some of the other boys can tell somethingās the matter when heās around you, but they canāt quite place whatās different about him. when heās around you, he just seems ever-so-slightlyā¦off. his smile is less bright, his jokes are a little less frequent, and heās actually kind of quiet when people are around you two. itās a weird sight to see, and dk knows this; he knows that others have noticed, but heās trying as hard as he can to behave as naturally as he can around you. i think heās one of the members that would be pretty broken up about the situation, similar to mingyu. i don;t see him being able to deal with something like this well. i think he definitely goes to the other boys for comfort about this, to the point where his feelings for you are kind of an open secret amongst them lmao. (except dino because seungkwan begged everyone not to tell him because he thinks dino would make it obvious that dk likes you so they leave him in the dark!!!)Ā
seungkwan: bruh seungkwan tries so hard to be normal around you but then heāll text vernon āim third wheeling y/n again please kill meā in the same breath. sometimes when heās falling asleep at night heās just like god how did i end UP in this situation!!!!!Ā heās more of the kind of person whoās pouty about it instead of sad about it. he just finds the situation annoying more than anything, and he wishes that you would just REALIZE HEāS IN LOVE WITH YOU ALREADY!! but heās alright with waiting it out. i think heās one of the members who would be not very fond of your partner LMAO. every time they greet seungkwan heās just like āoh hey -___- how are you -___-ā and your partner is like babe how do i get seungkwan to like me and youāre like HAHA heās just like that, he needs to warm up to you!! (seungkwan knows this is not the case with this specific person.) but yeah, i think seungkwan also holds out hope that one day the two of you will end up together. i donāt think he would go as far as to ruin your relationship or influence you to break up with your partner, but i think he would definitely confess if you ever became single again LOL. i think it would be a teary confession too, because heās been bottling up all these feelings for a while.
chan: oh my lee chanā¦i think he would fucking die in this situation!!! it would just, Destroy him. and you could tell there was something seriously wrongā¦he just wasnāt his usual excited self anymore, and he was suddenly beginning to avoid you out of nowhere. dino doesnāt want to do this; he doesn't want to be anywhere but by your side, but that place isnāt for him anymore and he knows that all too well. i think he would be one of the only people who would actually confess his feelings at some point, regardless if you were in a relationship or not. i think one day he would reach his breaking point and ust blurt it out because he just canāt take it anymore. i think part of him, although he feels guilty for it, knows that telling you about it is the first step he needs to take for him personally to move on. the only thing that hurts him more than not being able to be your person is keeping a secret this huge from you.
jun: dude this is the cat version of a kicked puppy. like. jun is NOT okā¦..and heās not very good at hiding it i think. i think youād be able to tell that something was wrong, but jun is terrified about talking about this with you, so you never really find out whatās bothering him. i dont think heās one who would ever end up telling you about his feelings. in fact, he might be one of the only ones who lets your friendship naturally drift apart because of his feelings for you. itās not that he doesnt want to be in your life, but he also wants to get over you more than anything. but i think it would be incredibly difficult for him to see you as just a friend tbh, so for as long as youāre dating your partner, i think heād keep his distance sadly.
hoshi: the light in this manās eyes have unironically left. like. the thought of hoshi being sad over youā¦ā¦..I CANāT BEAR IT!!! yeah i think he would take this all pretty hard. though unlike jun, i don;t think hoshi would be able to stay away from you and keep his distance. youāre too precious of a person in his life, and not to say that you arenāt in other scenarios with other members, but i just see hoshi being firm about still being in your life. in fact, heās one of the few guys that i think is secretly hopeful that one day down the road youāll end up together. he doesnāt ever voice these feelings to anyone; he knows itās ridiculous to feel this way about someone whoās already taken, and he feels that if he voices it to someone that heās going to get bad karma, LMAO. should you ever become single again though is a different story thoughā¦.
mingyu: for some reason have this vibe that being in this situation would literally destroy him and eat him aliveā¦i just feel like heās someone who truly loves really, really hard, and adding in the fact that youāre his best friend magnifies the pain by hundreds. what do you fucking do when the person you love most in this world doesnāt return your feelings? he would be really torn up about this because on one hand, heās never felt this way about someone before, and he wants nothing more than to be with you; but what he wants more than that is for you to be happy, and if that isnāt with him, he has to accept that. sadly, i feel like at some point this would be too much for him,,,like to the point where he keeps his distance from you a bit. he feels awful, but itās just too hard for him to hear about you and your partner and act like nothingās wrong when youāre around :(
woozi: i feel like he might be a little hot and cold about it. he is Not happy in this situation, and it frustrates him that he cant really do anything about it except deal. he doesn't really like talking about your s/o and he tries his best to hide it, but you can kinda tell that there's something wrong. but when you ask him about it, he says he's totally fine! i don't think woozi would dare to ever let his feelings for you come to light, and as unhappy as it makes him to not be honest with you, he just doesn't feel comfortable with telling someone he has feelings for them when said person is in a relationship. as little of a fan he is of your s/o, woozi knows that if he was in their shoes, he wouldn't be happy if someone confessed to you while the two of you were dating. i think he would need some distance to get over you, and i think the only way that it would happen is by throwing himself into his work and begrudgingly spending a LOT of his time with hoshi LMAO!!
minghao: would distance himself by making a bunch of life changes to keep him busy so he can eventually get over you. minghao values you too much, so he figures the best solution is to take time to himself so he can get over you in a healthy way with space from you. he isnāt happy about seeing you less, but he knows that itās what needs to be done in order for him to heal from this situation. would definitely have a vague excuse ready if you ever asked him why he was distant from you; i cannot see any universe where minghao would ever admit he used to have feelings for you, even if it had been years past. heās keeping this one in the vault LMAO, not even jun knows!!
wonwoo: bruhā¦..heās. heās in pain. but heās keeping it all inside. i think heād feel really selfish for harboring these feelings toward you while youāre dating someone else. your partner was perfectly friendly to wonwoo,,,like it makes him feel WORSE that heās in love with you. he tries to forget his feelings, even getting into relationships once in a while, but everything always comes back to you. i feel like this is a secret heās told absolutely NO ONE at all because of how much it weighs on his heart. the only soul who does know to some extent is mingyu, because he caught wonwoo crying one day when he came home early from work. wonwoo didnāt really get into the details, but he did admit that it he had unrequited feelings for someone. mingyu didnāt pry, and he still never has.Ā
jeonghan: there is Pain behind his eyes lol but he is keeping this secret in the Vault fr. Maybe, M a y b e s.coups MIGHT know, but thatās about it. jeonghan is one of the only people i can imagine is completely normal around you and no one can tell that thereās anything wrong. the only reason that seungcheol knows anything is because he knows jeonghan the best, and he could tell by the way that he hung onto your every word that he had feelings for you. but yeah, i think jeonghan would have the easiest time living with this secret from you. sometimes he does feel a little guilty, and honestly sometimes he does flirt with you lightly, but nothing to arouse any serious suspicion. mostly heāll just say he likes your outfit or something when youāre hanging out, which is harmless in his mind. it does bother him that the person heās in love with is dating someone else, but i think jeonghan would just be like āwhat else can i do at this point??ā and continue with his life. not much changes between the two of you, besides jeonghan being a little more quiet when the topic of your relationship or partner comes up, but itās not something you notice anyway. and such is life, whether jeonghan is truly okay with it or not.
