Talked about a sanders sides nutcracker au within a community but posting some art I made on my art blog so more people can see it.

Yes it’s Logan as the nutcracker instead of Roman. That’s just what I felt like.

Anyway for people who are unaware (all except a couple people tbh) I’ve been really obsessed with the nutcracker recently. I read translations of both Hoffman and Dumas’s versions and watched a bunch of movie adaptations. So the roles I chose for the other sides might be unfamiliar to some people (they’re from the book version(s) and only appear in 1-2 movie versions)

I watched Inside Out 2 and of course I was thinking about Sanders Sides the whole time. Especially during this moment.

This is mostly just a doodle. I wanted to make the vision inside my head real but I knew that if I spent too long on it I would give up. Sometimes it’s nice to let myself make art that’s not “finished.”

Weird thing I did for a school assignment last year. We had to make an object on adobe illustrator and fill it with 50 patterns. I was sick of using the computer mouse so I did it on my iPad with my finger instead. Adobe Illustrator is not designed to be used like this. It made my device super hot. I tried to recreate this in a physical medium recently and I more or less succeeded.

I don’t usually draw backgrounds but it turned out in this case. This is the last thing I made on my computer before I lost my stylus I think. I accidentally made the whole piece with my screen brightness turned all the way down so I adjusted the colors/brightness to look more like it did when I was making it.

This art is just old enough that I kind of hate it but recent enough that I can appreciate parts of it. The Arbiter from chess the musical in the chess dimension. You know, the chess dimension. We’ve all seen it. This was part of a kind-of-dtiys on the chess discord a while ago where several of us shared our arbiter designs.

Another one of my favorite art pieces of all time. This was from my intense Buzzfeed Unsolved/Watcher hyperfixation era. I’m not gonna tag it as such because Watcher has a tumblr account and that scares me. Anyway this is Ryan Bergara if he was a pixie hollow fairy. He’s a story telling talent who loves telling ghost stories and legends about Neverland mysteries.

This was the peak of my watercolor brush skill on Autodesk sketchbook. Idk where it all went. Sometimes the stars align and art turns out exactly how you wanted it.

One of my favorite pieces of all time. Redraw of a Disney fairies illustration. Rani was my favorite when I was very young (before Vidia stole her spot). I used to check out the same Disney fairies books over and over just to look at the art again.

This was the first time I drew my design for all of the Chess characters at once. Might be the cutest Toly I ever drew. Also featuring Freddie with heterochromia, a headcanon I forgot about for a while. Very heavily RAH concert based, except for the Arbiter cause I wanted him to be more funky.

Spinel is from @fusionlads AU, a triplet of Seán, Daniel, and Spiff. They came into existence to fight the magma demon formed by Kevin, Daithi, and Brian. They have godlike powers and a savior complex.

This is from half a year ago I can’t believe I never posted it. Or if I did I completely lost the post. I’m still pretty proud of how it turned out.

I can’t believe I made fanart for a fictional boy band but here’s Atsign from Twins^2. This one is also really old, I was still using sketchbook autodesk’s scan sketch function to color in art on my phone and it looks like this one didn’t scan that well. This holds up better than a lot of my other older art even some of the more recent stuff.

I’m not gonna give much of the context for this cause it’s a long story but anyway goat themed nature spirit that guards a bridge. Goatman’s bridge, you might say. This is the first thing I drew with my computer stylus, and my first time having touch sensitivity. I think this line art is more detailed than anything I’ve done since.

This is art I made for an Irish lads “brownie”/fae au (if you don’t know what that is, think of them like the Borrowers, except they do your chores).

Daniel, Brian, Daithi, and Seán are brownies secretly living in Kevin’s house. This is a scene where Kevin traps Dan under a cup, thinking he’s a bug but quickly realizing otherwise. The lads wear clothes made of clothing scraps (stolen from Kevin’s closet) that make them look like bugs in case they’re seen out of the corner of a human’s eye. Dan—Butterfly, Brian—Ladybug, Daithi—Moth, Seán—Fly.

This is only semi-based on actual brownie lore. I change it whenever I want to, but there’s some nods. I have a reference sheet in the works but I’m being very slow on it.

Maybe I’ll write a fic. Maybe I’ll make an ask blog. Who knows.
