I always see people talk about the next book being a pov with all three Elain, Azriel and Lucien but Azriel being there at all confirms he is the endgame cause romance authors don’t just add another romance for the fmc when she has a mate already unless he is her actual endgame. It would only make sense if elriel came before the elucien mate bond was known in the specific book but its the opposite.

Its like a romance book where a woman is arranged to marry a prince but falls in love with her bodyguard. The man shes not supposed to marry initially is the one she ends up with.

uh. very few of us actually ship Vassien. we just see the writing on the walls (aka the words in the books) and know that's where it's heading.

I'm not going to type it all out because it's been done before, but compare all of these actions to the way he acts around Elain. It's polar opposite, and that's intentional.

So no, we're not "panic shipping Vassien" or whatever people are claiming. Most of us have seen Vassien coming for years now, and have discussed it in passing on multiple occasions. It's not a couple we actively ship, but many many Elriels have mentioned Vassa as Lucien's love interest and we've been dismissed by people saying "they have the same hair color" or some other random shit.

Elriels are nothing if not consistent. We've been saying this stuff for years. The same people who claim to only want "Lucien's happiness" completely detest the fact that his happiness appears to be with Vassa.

And really anyone who enjoys ACOTAR. I am going to be annoying here for a second but I think it’s important and I hope you stay to read and hopefully have a conversation with me about this.

The hate and nastiness in this fandom has gotten to new highs. Some of the ways people talk about other shippers in the fandom or even about the characters has gotten extreme and frankly alarming.

My ask here is simple: be the bigger person.

It’s a classic saying for a reason. When a Gwynriel or Elucien or anyone is being nasty or even saying things that are untrue about the books, either don’t engage or engage kindly and thoughtfully. If they become hostile, you can simply remove yourself, literally ghost them. Or continue to be kind, it actually does SO much more for your arguement when you do this anyway.

If you see someone saying horrible, unkind, untrue, or even unnecessarily spicy things within the Elriel world, you can call them out. You can reach out privately even. We have to hold each other accountable for poor behavior.

I am speaking to Elriels because this is my side of the fandom. And frankly, feedback coming from Elriel to Elriel is more likely to be received well than from Elriel to i.e. Gwynriel.

I want to continue to be in this fandom. I love the world, I love many of you. And also, the trajectory of this ship war is scaring me. I really feel we all need to put the spears down if we want Sarah to continue giving us any content at all.

I am happy to have more of a conversation about this with people if there are thoughts or questions or differences in opinion. I’m not saying you have to stop having opinions on the book or about people in the fandom. But we don’t need to resort to name calling, shaming, harassing.

Am I alone in this? Am I asking too much? How do we make this better for everyone?

Seeing Elain motherfucking Archeron totally abscent from their theories just has me actually baffled. Grown women cannot be this dumb. Regardless of their dislike for Elain, at this point they simply have to understand Elain is a main character of the next book. This is just ridiculous to me at this point. I am genuinely embarrassed for them.

It's like she genuinely just does not exist for them. They act as though she's an ordinary side character when she's literally an archeron and a cauldron-made seer. It's actually so crazy to see how the other side neglects elain and shoves her in the box of "she's luciens mate and will throw parties". They have completely omitted from the main plot.

It is completely ridiculous, allowing your hatred for a character to blind you to their insane potential.

Someone made a post in the elriel tag saying that for some people it will actually be shocking to have elain as the next protagonist and I believe that so much. This fandom, Gwynriels and Eluciens, have crafted such extravagant, stupid theories around the next bokk that it will actually baffle them when its Elain.

I find it very interesting that when Sarah had the opportunity in the CHD podcast to explain what it means to be mates, she VERY quickly goes into the negative aspects of it.

Q: Can you quickly explain what that (mates) means in the world.

A: It's kind of like your destined true love in a way, but it's complicated because there's a biological component to it. Where you can be mated to someone who is like, not actually your true love. So there's like true-true mates, and then there's like...nature made a mistake.

I mean like Rhys's parents--did not love each other. Like, it was not a great relationship. But they were mates, and it was like, there's a biological thing where it's like, we want to be together, but we're fucking miserable with each other--especially his mom. So it's tricky.

But when you find your perfect mate--like Rhys and Feyre, Cassian and Nesta--that is like the last little piece of your soul that was kind of like a little broken, and is like now...you found your person.

For an author who is a "fated mates author," she spent quite a long time telling us why it can kind of suck. lmao Who wants to be "fucking miserable" with their partner??

I'll be posting a discord server in a few days. I soft launched it today from another platform to make sure I can get any kinks out before I fully release it to the public.

1. Newbie rank will be enabled when you first join. You will be placed in this role for 30 minutes.

-you can skip the length of this phase by verifying your discord account so that we can monitor who and what accounts are posting to try to stifle any kind of raid or trolls.

2. Member role is automatically switched after 30 minutes. This role has added benefits being able to post on all channels (except admin and antis). This role will also be able to make public threads, publicly share files and make polls.

3. The next role will be Verified Elriels. This rank will only be available if you verify your account as mentioned earlier. This rank can be obtained by clicking a pretty flower that will automatically switch you to the verified role after you do what is needed to verify (I believe there are a few different methods to verify). After this is done, the gloves come off. You can see all the channels (primarily the antis channel). I put this channel as private to share our experiences with antis without giving open ammo for them to shoot with. If you don't want that ability then you do not have to verify at all. There are a few other perks to getting this role as well. Primarily in Threads that can start. Everyone can start a public thread, but verified members can also make private threads. They also have the ability to allow slow mode for chats which I can't imagine we will need, but it *is* possible.

While it is a small community I plan to moderate it with my dear friend @Ameryth. If it grows beyond our ability we will be looking to add other moderators.

Eventually I plan to not have a static invite to join the servers. Verified Elriels will have the ability to personally invite anyone they so choose. If this lets too many trolls or antis we will be creating another role for trusted inviters. We just didn't have a need for that yet.

When I am confident all the buttons are working correctly in a few days I'll be sharing the link in my comments ON THIS POST.

I will NOT be sharing the Elriel discord in it's own post the day I share it! I'm very aware of the doxxing in our community and I'm taking it as seriously as I can.
