man bring back One direction I can’t handle Kpop
me replying to messages 10 days late and blaming it on my busy schedule to hide the fact that my depression has me thinking simple correspondence is an actual workload:
some overweight parlor aunty: beta you’re never going to get married if you don’t learn to make round rotis
me: tan france told me i was valid
god my absolute favorite feeling is devouring a book, when you get so into the pages and the words that you have to stop your eyes from skipping lines and force yourself to read every word, when you’re so impatient for what happens next that you can’t sit still while reading, when you have to re read whole pages because you were too busy predicting and anticipating that you missed the actual events, when you read a part that’s too good for words and you have to close the book and scream into your pillow, that’s what reading a truly great book is about and the feeling is even better when you haven’t found a book like that in a long time and then you stumble across one and something inside of you awakens
It’s so weird thinking back to when you first met someone and that moment you had no idea they would have such a big impact on you

Me: Hozier’s tribute to protest musicians and contemplation of his own ability and responsibility as an artist to fight for justice in “Nina Cried Power” is made much more powerful when you remember that he spent the last two years fighting for housing, the right to abortion, and acknowledgment/restitution for the crimes of the Catholic Church in Ireland while we were all joking about him hiding out in a bog.
Also me: very dramatic music, sound very good
fuck the original sins, they’re out. the new seven sins are:
never putting the cap back on the ketchup bottle
sending one-word & one-letter texts in response to a heartfelt essay
skipping dinner and then eating after midnight
watching anime
wallowing in your own inadequacy at the slightest mistake
sending legitimate anon hate
parkour

i love seeing posts americans make about hozier being a powerful cryptid faeire moss prince or whatever you guys are saying these days on tumblr.com when i know he’s just smoking weed in dublin and using twitter. my friend went to a christmas party and hozier was there and high and just talked about himself the entire time.
My friend had sex with him in a field at a music festival juuust before take me to church took off. She panicked and assumed he’d be all “k, see ya around!” so she preemptively did that to him and he just went “oh, okay, I was hoping I’d see you again” and she spent that whole year kicking herself.
I have never been able to understand people with consistent lives – people who, for example, grow up in a liberal Catholic household and stay that way; or who in junior high school are already laying down a record on which to run for president one day. Imagine having no discarded personalities, no vestigial selves, no visible ruptures with yourself, no gulf of self-forgetfulness, nothing that requires explanation, no alien version of yourself that requires humor and accommodation. What kind of life is that?
