The Animal Abuse-Human Violence Connection
I believe you can tell a great deal about the true character of a person by how they treat animals. It seems that data confirms this belief. Men who abuse animals, also tend to abuse women and children. Pretty sad excuse for a person...
"National and state studies have established that from 54 to 71 percent of women seeking shelter from abuse reported that their partners had threatened, injured or killed one or more family pets (Anicare Model workshop, Tacoma, 2004. Created in 1999, the AniCare Model of Treatment for Animal Abuse treats people over 17 by bringing abusers and animals together. A companion program treats children.)"

Facebook Marketing for Hotels
Facebook is a great marketing tool for individual hotels and hotel management groups. Most hotels utilize a profile page under their brand site, this profile page contains a description of the hotel and a booking engine. Many hotels use this as their individual website and do not spend the resources on another site focused on their hotel.
A business Facebook page is a cost effective and beneficial component of a marketing plan for hotels.
The Facebook page does not require domain registration or hosting, but does allow a vanity URL. Ex. Facebook.com/YourHotelName This allows the hotel to use this URL in other marketing programs.
Our Facebook page development extends beyond the standard business page. We create a Facebook page that is more of a "mini website" than the standard Facebook page.
We also integrate an email marketing strategy into your Facebook page. In most cases, it is not possible to add an email sign up form in the profile page of the hotel. Our strategy allows the individual hotel to build an email list and create an email marketing program.

Google Encrypted Search
Google encrypted search is very important to internet marketers, it makes reporting on organic search traffic more complicated.
From Google:
"What does this mean for sites that receive clicks from Google search results? When you search from https://www.google.com, websites you visit from our organic search listings will still know that you came from Google, but won't receive information about each individual query. They can also receive an aggregated list of the top 1,000 search queries that drove traffic to their site for each of the past 30 days through Google Webmaster Tools. This information helps webmasters keep more accurate statistics about their user traffic. If you choose to click on an ad appearing on our search results page, your browser will continue to send the relevant query over the network to enable advertisers to measure the effectiveness of their campaigns and to improve the ads and offers they present to you."

New Georgia Stadium for the Atlanta Falcons
It looks like Atlanta will get a new stadium with a retractable roof. This is great news for Atlanta, Georgia and the Falcons. Follow the news on the new Georgia Stadium!
This article was published on Search Engine Land. I think that we just need to take another approach to SEO these days. It should still a very important part of your online marketing plan.
This is very interesting information regarding Facebook marketing. This link will take you to a blog post by Ben at MailChimp.
An ex Google employee who worked on Matt Cutts team states "forget about SEO", he goes on to say that we need to build websites with "good content in mind". This is nothing new, but reinforces the message coming from Google recently.
Actually, this is not really news. Google has always made it clear that websites built with the user in mind, rather than the search engines, will enjoy better search engine rankings.
Take the Bing vs Google Challenge at BingItOn.com. I did, the results of my test...
Bing won 4 out 5. I took the test multiple times and Bing only lost one time. Bing search results really do seem to be more relevant than Google, now Bing just needs to get people to make the switch...
Matt Cutts of Google tweeted that Google will begin to reduce low quality exact match domains (EMD's) in their search engine results.
Atlanta Pet Rescue and Groupon
The Atlanta Pet Rescue just raised over $5000 using Groupon. This was an interesting way to use Groupon to raise donations. The fundraiser was used to treat their animals with heartworms.
"Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption (APRA) is a nonprofit, volunteer-based, no-kill shelter dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and adopting homeless dogs and cats into loving homes."
I have adopted two dogs from the Atlanta Pet Rescue, have volunteered with them and supported various fund raising programs.
