Impldoll Eudora showed up today-- i ordered her on March 21, and she arrived on May 22, so that's exactly 2 months 1 day and that's WITH a mistake that held things up a little, otherwise she would have been here a week and a half ago which would have been under 2 months for a whole entire doll in gray resin. impldoll continues to be consistently speedy and every time i order from them it cancels out a little bit more of the leftover sourness towards buying bjd from my absolute fail of a Dollshe order ❤️

her gray resin is very cool/blue-toned, which i love-- it's perfect for what i want to do with her. she stands great straight out of the box, which is nice since for once i don't plan on dyeing or modding her body, so i don't need to take her apart and restring at all. (not that i mind restringing-- i just have more than enough doll projects to do already 😅)

her resin color looks a little weird and greeny in this pic, but it's just the pic-- the other ones where she looks very blue gray are way more true to life. this is the medium bust on the 63cm model body, and i'd actually ordered the small. they cast her with medium by mistake, and they'd offered to redo my whole order if i wanted, or if i was ok with the medium and wanted to keep it they'd send me a free head with the doll. i thought the difference between small and medium was slight enough looking at pics, so i'd said i wanted to keep the accidental medium. seeing it in person, i'm happy with my decision-- she looks fine as she is and i skipped having to wait more!

they sent me a Sylvia head in pink resin, which is very cute and which i did not get any pics of tonight, and also the heel feet and a pair of alternate hands in a different pose! (i had only actually ordered the heel legs, so the hands and feet were extras.) super nice of them to send so many extras for a mistake that really didn't end up bothering me anyway.

looking forward to painting her, but am not going to work on her at all until i get a couple other of the WIP dolls finished first-- she doesn't get to cut in line just bc she's shiny and new 😂 for now i'm just gonna keep her in her box until a few more already ongoing projects are cleared off the list and the worktables. plus i have half of my art room completely torn apart right now anyway (repairing a wall, putting a second coat of the blue paint up bc some areas turned out a little patchy, putting up some moulding) so there's not room to add yet another WIP to the very little amount of currently available workspace...getting all that done on the room itself is actually my big weekend goal 💪

A partial look at the worst haircut anyone has ever given a wig OTL. This was my first wig and every step was a struggle tbh. Process & chatter under the cut

Made wefts from yarn (very limited amount acquired from thrift store, problem 1) (problem 2: tons of waste, which I saved at least some of for later) . Trying to make the actual weft tracks was tough, started with uv resin, which was a terrible idea, made them pretty thick, eventually used modge podge. Totally haphazard placement. The part was the hardest, pic doesn't show how sparse/messy it is.

So it was a bit of a mess, but might have been temporarily passable if not for..... the haircut.

Then I watched like 3 wolf cut tutorials on yt and decided I was ready. Yes it was 10:30ish pm, why do you ask -_- . Below is the very best I could possibly arrange/photograph it to hide the horrible awful chop

Not......... good. Super uneven, WAY asymmetrical, blunt cuts everywhere, too short up top. I now understand the emo and scene hairstyles of the early-mid aughts: bad diy haircut brined in ambient anime and Tim Burton. But at least their hair grew back u_u

This was a very humbling lesson and I have slowed my roll considerably. Maedhros's long flowing wig isn't quite the right size and also very heavy, so I'm going to trim off 2 or so inches (nothing fancy!! Just a straight cut!!!! I learned my lesson trying to cut layers) and try to make a new wig from the trimmings.

Meantime, Maedhros with the Bad Hair sports a little veil to hide the worst of my butchering ;u;

Regarding my SD17 males:

I don't photograph them much, even though Regulus was my first Super Dollfie and Reisner is one of my favorite face models.

Simply because they're too heavy, inconvenient to carry around, and posing them isn't as easy as with the girls. I don't have that much passion for buying them clothes and taking photos.

Because Reisner's makeup had a… disastrous accident, I'll be sending him to get his face repainted in a while.

Another wig was ripped apart and put back together. Sylus’s hair has been driving me nuts for a while because I, frankly, fucked up the construction of his wig originally and cut it too short in the back.

I took off almost all the fiber on the back and at the top of the wig (including the parting line) and redid it. Also found one of my brow shavers finally and that helped a lot with styling (find them to work much better with blending layers when it comes to cutting alpaca and other really fine fibers).

Anyway, huzzah, Little S finally has a wig that doesn’t make me wanna tear my own hair out lmao.
