I am interested(/concerned) to see if TQ ticket sales get treated as a blip or if they’ll change their strategy for future LA runs

I’ve seen a few people point out the need to promote locally and I do agree. I know reaching a new audience is tough and that’s then more marketing budget but it’s all well and good telling fans to spread the word about the show when there are so many people already excited for it who just can’t make it to LA. There will still always be fans who somehow have no idea it was happening until after the fact and you’re like, were you living under a rock, so yes making noise about the show helps, but… a lot of these showings are like half sold

And at that point to make it sustainable they’re forced to go back to doing more limited runs, which would suck for them because they’re putting just as much work into a show that they only get to perform live a handful of times

Honestly with this coming after what Brian said on that podcast about selling more tickets in London, I do wonder if we really could get a west end premiere if they do another HF remount (which is what anyone local to LA who could easily go to TQ but only cares about HF would deserve who said that)

TL;DR please, now more than ever, if you can then get the digital ticket for this show, and the album and digital download when they come out. That support helps SO much if you can’t make it in person

Today I am participating in a charity stream weekend with Artimators SMP!! We’re supporting Give Kids the World Village, which gives terminally ill children a free vacation away from hospital visits and medical procedures. This is an all-day event with multiple streamers, so if this is something you’d like to support, tune on in to any channel in the graphic below!

For my time slot, I’m gonna be designing custom-built trees that are named after every donation above $10. Some positive news: There really WAS a cat summoned for jury duty back in 2010. Turns out the error was quickly corrected and the cat did NOT actually have to travel to the courthouse. But at least we can enjoy the fact that a papereork glitch did once try to give a cat jury duty XD

Let's be real, Grace would've used literally any excuse to turn around and go after Rocky, even if the taumoeba containment issue had never occurred.

Grace: omg, Rocky forgot his Savior of the Universe hat that I made for him! Guess I have to pursue him across the cosmos to give it to him and in doing so abandon all hope of ever returning to my native planet. Ain't that just the way the cookie crumbles? It just can't be helped though! HEY MARY, TIME TO CHANGE COURSE!

As much as I love this, I really adore how in the book that's clearly not the case. That isn't to speak about movie Grace but in the book, Grace agonizes about that choice. He weeps. He wrestles with himself. In part because it is made much more clear in the book that Grace was facing death by doing so. Eridians are not biologically compatible with humans in any way, including food. It was go home, or save Rocky and starve to death.

And then he chooses his friend anyways.

Grace mourns himself, mourns the choice, and chooses to be brave one last time.
