hamlet’s “i did love you once” and ophelia’s “indeed, my lord, you did make me believe so” is such an underrated gut punch. it’s betrayal it’s heartbreak it’s vulnerability it’s so over. truly no one is doing it like shakespeare

apologising after you've done something irreversible means nothing because "qabrein jitni bhi saja lo, koi zinda nahi hota"
🌸 Zid e niswaan / law against women
Dil zulm o zulmaton ki cheekhon mein bhi dhadakta rahe,
zid-e-niswaan ke is qanoon se riha chahta hai
[Even amidst the screams of cruelty and darkness, the heart still beats — seeking freedom from this anti-woman law.]
Us shakhs ko apne dar pe sookhe patte nahin manzoor,
magar aangan mein shajar chahta hai, hawa chahta hai
[He rejects fallen leaves at his doorstep, yet dreams of a full tree and a breeze in his own courtyard.]
Ek adab-parwar ki ajab farmaish hai,
Nazm bhi chahta hai, aur matla chahta hai
[A so-called patron of art — demands both the poem and the perfect opening line.]
Us par ab badlay mein bhi phool barsenge,
Phool ko kuchalne walay se, bagh badla chahta hai
[Now, even in revenge, flowers will fall — for the one who crushed a flower, the garden seeks justice.]
Kisi ke dil ki lau bujha kar,
woh apne ghar ka diya jala chahta hai
[Extinguishing another's heart-flame, he lights a lamp in his own home.]
Adam se ishq chahta hai, aur ‘Laa’ chahta hai
[Man loses in his innocent desires — wanting love from Adam, and the divine ‘Laa’ (boundless love of God).]
Mard Ali ki khaaq-e-raah bhi nahin bana,
aur aurat ko Bint-e-Fatima chahta hai
[He hasn’t even become the dust beneath Ali’s feet, yet expects the woman to be like Fatima’s daughter.]
Meri jurrat — huroof khilaaf-e-abwi nizaam likhoon,
Kalam insaaf chahti hai, par kagaz saza chahta hai
[My courage writes letters against the patriarchal order — the pen seeks justice, but the page demands punishment.]
Main hashr-e-hisaab ke tarazu mein apna ek sawal rakhungi—
Aurat to mard ko chahti hai,
Mard kya chahta hai?
[A woman loves the man — but what does the man truly want?]

Oh, when Ahmed Faraz said "Sab kuch milta hai is duniya mein,Faraz, bas woh nahi milta jisse mohabbat ho."
But Jaun had the guts to quote, "Zindagi kam pad gayi, warna woh na milta, majaal uski."
I screamed a little when Allama Iqbal said "Na kar naseeb pe itne gile, Iqbal, jab Khuda razi hota hai, toh har cheez mil jaati hai."
But then, Mirza Ghalib got a chokehold on me, saying "Tum bhi Ghalib, kamaal karte ho, ummeedein insaano se laga kar, shikayatein Khuda se karte ho."
zindagi se yahi gila hai mujhe tu bohot der se mila hai mujhe. humsafar chahiye, hujoom nahi ik musafir hi qaafilaa hai mujhe. tu mohabbat se koyi chaal toh chal haar jaane ka hausla hai mujhe.
Remember when Sahir Ludhianvi said:
"Kab talaq tere ishq ko rou, mere ghar ke bhi sau masle hai"
And Faiz Ahmed replied:
" Aur bhi gham hai zamane mein mohabbat ke siwa, raahatein aur bhi hai wasl ki raahat ke siwa"
Aaj phir ek behes haar ja,
Aaj phir yeh taaluq bacha le
.
Aaj phir ye taaluq bach jayega
Kal phir ye mazeed satayega

Usey hum yaad atay hain faqat fursat ke lamhon mein,
Magar ye baat bhi sach hay usey fursat nahi milti
- Wasi Shah
Hum tasleem kartay hain humain fursat nahi
milti,
Magar jab yaad kartay hain to zamana bhool jatay hain
- Mirza Ghalib
Zamana bhool jatay hain teri ik deed ki khatir
Khayalon se nikalte hain to sadiyan beet jati hain
- Allama Iqbal
Sadiyan beet jati hain khayalon se nikalne main,
Magar jab yaad ati hay to aankhein bheeg jati hain
