just as he had suddenly appeared in her life, jackson had disappeared without notice. at first it didn't bother circe, she was a grown woman. and then he didn't come back, and she was worried. then pissed. the world was ending, and circe was getting a front seat. all alone. she was supposed to be part of it, with him. something ablaze below as she looks over her balcony, quickly bored with the scene as she turns back inside, only to be confronted with a bloody jackson standing in the middle of her bedroom. "what brings you here? money? kingdom?" she crosses her arms over her chest, head tilting.

time didn't really exist for emerson. not in this realm. something about this place trapped him, kept him there. but he didn't mind. he liked observing, seeing people in their lowest and highest moments. even if he couldn't do anything, at least he could be a witness for it.
they had been coming day after day, and something about them pulled emerson closer. it was rare for anyone to notice him, so he just settled in at the end of the pew, eyes turned toward the altar sure that they couldn't see him. until he glances over and their eyes meet. something rushes through him, something new and unfamiliar. "apologies, don't mean to invade your space." is all he can offer through a dry mouth.
