i don’t have a solid theme behind this piece and that’s fine it was a pretty quick draw anyways. spoke with a friend on what it could possibly be and came up with it 1 ) being a moment of clarity for luxury where she’s aware of her horrifying situation as a teenage mad scientist. which i feel would only hit her at this age but never hard enough to backtrack into normalcy. if it had come any younger this would be becoming her norm and thus not set in as her forever, and any older its already her life and would really not affect her since it’s ‘ who she is as a person ‘.

that or 2 ) she’s overstimulated by the feeling of the blood starting to dry on her hands or 3 ) she’s thinking about licking that blood

i totally let myself get caught up in drawing a beautiful woman with this piece but it is actually about how marvelous feels she failed her wife, mystique, after her suicide. . . which left marv to raise their daughter, luxury, alone. and how much she fears lux will follow a similar path as mystique, because all of their similarities as mother and child. so much so it often affects her thinking day to day.
