It’s incredibly embarrassing to armchair lawyer a public feud when the majority of y’all have no idea what you’re talking about, legally speaking (but surprise, it’s Tumblr). Generally love and support queer people and hate corporations yes, but divas legally Patagonia has to defend their IP or risk losing it and they are suing for $1 because they have to in order to retain those rights.

There is a noted, years long history of Patagonia the brand offering concessions to Pattie and trying to work with her to both protect their brand and support the great activism that Pattie does, and Pattie has routinely and flagrantly flouted their requests in return. This is not (just) a corp bullying a queer content creator, although obviously we should be skeptical of corporations. Please use your critical thinking and research skills instead of blindly band-wagoning; a reminder that social media personalities can and do make poor business decisions and you don’t have to support them just because they’re queer
