I am Jazzi, a 19 year old British illustrator, fresh out of art college, living in the UK. I specialise in monoprints! I am fairly new to monoprinting and discovered my passion for it during my time at Exeter college where I completed a diploma in Fine Art. I am really happy because I have a new laptop and it's super fast and perfect for editing my monoprints and it has a built in webcam but I'm not sure how to use it so at the moment my new laptop is just full of photos of me looking confused

Your prints are lovely!! I was wondering, what kind of ink do you use for your monoprints?

Hi and thankyou! My ink is at home at the moment and I am not, but when I next pop over there I will have a look and post the name of the ink I use, okay :)

A blast from the past:

Okay this isn't monoprint related but it is personal-art related and I am quite proud so I really want to post it here.

When I was about eight years old the local Fire department were relocating and in celebration or something they held a competition throughout all the primary schools where the pupils had to draw a fire department-related scene. The winners were picked and I was among them.

Today as my boyfriend and I passed the local Fire station we saw that they were holding an art exhibition or something and so we stopped and took a look, and I immediately remembered this competition and hoped I'd see my drawing.

And we did :)

It's a cat stuck in a tree with a fireman climbing the tree to save it. Also for some reason there a bush on fire too and there is a fireman putting it out. There is also a dog and I really don't know why. Probably because I was (and still am) a huge animal lover and always tried to include animals in my drawings.

Anyway, it was so weird to go in there today and see my drawing from like ten years ago still up on that wall.

I am on holiday but it's raining so I'm inside looking at photos taken over the course of this week. I am in Westward Ho! with a few friends, staying in caravans. It's really lovely here and we're ten minutes from the beach, so of course we've been taking some photos which will be used with monoprints at some point. Here are some of my favourites so far.

Asides from photo-taking, we've spent a lot of time playing games, frolicking on the beach, winning toy animals in the amusements, drinking and receiving noise complaints from other caravans (oops)

This is me trying out my new monoprint equipment for the first time (this is for you Carol!) I drew a cat :D My monoprint area is super messy, it's just the top of my chest of drawers in my bedroom... But never mind :D

I read that you're an animal lover, whats your favourite animal and will you do some animal monoprints?

I love animals. My favourite animals are ducks. This is me being happy because I am with ducks.

and I hadn't really thought about doing animal monoprints, but it's a good idea and I think I will definitely do some! Maybe take some photos of my dad's cats, cats are beautiful and fun to draw. Thanks!
