George Floyd, Rekia Boyd, Aiyana Stanley-Jones, Tamir Rice, Sandra Bland, Jordan Edwards.....These are just a few of the beautiful angels, whose lives were stolen from them and their families as a result of police brutality. It shatters my heart to know that there are so many other beautiful cherubs who have been killed, all of them innocent. When the people who were supposed to protect the innocent are killing them (especially CHILDREN), we know hatred and hostility is poisoning whatever humanity is left in this horrible, twisted society.

Do not look away. Do not close your eyes or stick your head in the sand. Remember them and tell their stories. NOT ALL LIVES MATTER UNTIL BLACK LIVES MATTER

I’m not from America, though there was a time in my life I thought of it as the land where all dreams came true. Where people were free to be whoever they wanted and were accepted as is. It hasn’t been that long since that ideal was shattered. When a person can murder in cold blood another PERSON - a BLACK man, his fellow HUMAN - as he begs for his life... I have no words.

I no longer look at USA as the land of the free or where dreams come true. It’s a den for violence, sexism, racism, mysoginy and everything despicable because the people in power, the ones who’re supposed to be leading towards peace and prosperity all are those gross things. I want those policemen to be imprisoned and each day have someone else kneel on their necks as they beg for their life, for their mother like George Floyd did. And have that repeated until the end of their days. They don’t deserve to walk among people because they’re monsters.

The stories of women in my family who were forced into lives they didn’t want and didn’t utilize their passions breaks my heart. My grandma wanted to be a journalist and write about the injustices she saw inflicted on disabled ppl while she was volunteering at a state run institution as a teen. Her father decided that she was “too fat and stupid” for college and forced her to get married at 17 or else he’d make her homeless. As a kid she told me that she wished people believed that she had meaningful opinions on events around her. One of my great grandmothers wanted to be an artist but was pressured into marrying a man who beat her. She stayed up late each night when her children were in bed writing poetry and pasting it over elaborate collages she mad herself. We still have stacks of these notebooks she created but was never allowed to do anything with. My mother wanted to be an operatic singer and was considered a musical prodigy in her town because she taught herself three seperate instruments by 13. When she was 18 she met my then 30 year old father who emotionally manipulated her into giving up her dreams to start a family with him. As a kid I would hear her up at night playing the violin or doing vocal exercises until she became too depressed to practice anymore. Like idk y’all there’s a quiet type of violence in the way women’s talents are devalued and brushed aside in favor of bullying them into “traditional” roles that ultimately don’t fulfill what they wanted for their lives. We’ve lost so much art, music, writing, science, and happiness to misogyny.

Four A.M. and they were at it again.

Every night this week. They didn’t seem to realize they didn’t own the block, and there were other people in the world besides them. People who had lives and responsibilities and being woken up every single night was starting to show. Several more bikes revved their engines – it seemed they were competing for the worst person award. You were going to kill that stupid blond giant and every one of his idiot friends. You grabbed your robe, threw it on, and marched out your house heading right for your brand new noisy as hell neighbors.

Bucky was the first to spot the fire in your step and the murderous look in your eye. He slowly sat up on his bike and whistled at Steve. “Trouble is coming.”
