the poster that this incredible illustration is based on is extremely striking. but while searching for it, I also found earlier posters for conveying this message along with a corresponding one for summer, and I fucking love them. absolutely lovely graphic design work. (both are from 1924, artist is Austin Cooper)

the one I was looking for originally also has a summer variant. (artist is Frederick Charles Herrick: 'it is warmer below' is from 1927, 'it is cooler below' is 1926)

These days, lots of public libraries have a "library of things" collection where you can check out kitchen appliances or yard tools or toys, and, as a children's library assistant, the most popular library of things item that I handle regularly is a plastic scepter thingy called like "unicorn princess magic wand". And whenever I check it out I make a big show of looking at the little kid and being like "do you solemnly swear to use your unicorn princess magic powers only for good and never for evil?"

And pretty much without fail, the little kid will get the world's most mischievous grin and go "I'm gonna use it for EVIL!!!"

I broke gender. On accident. someone on tumblr a few weeks ago asked if i could add a mute button to the gauntlet and i was all "sure why not"

and then

that broke gender

for reasons i'm sure we all understand

and then , a streamer discovered zampanio, as one does

and on stream, no matter what they did, they kept getting an error message that they needed to answer more questions to get their gender

and they thought it was *hilarious*

and when i saw that later in the vod i was all

shit i gotta fix gender

and then i did

and then ten seconds later i went

wait no actually that was really funny

so i put a lil carve out in it

so that on the 14th of the month (the day the VOD came out) OR the entire month of july... a modified version of that bug still pops up

at least partly because i think it will be incredibly funny to panic try to fix bug reports after i forget i did that only to find its an easter egg

I hate that ‘bad dream’ just means ‘nightmare’ instead of ‘shitty quality dream.’ I had a bad dream last night. It wasn’t scary it just didn’t make a lot of narrative sense

#aoegwihfeiofjd fuck long covid for giving me dreams that are very stressful but not at all scary!!!!!!#my dream last night was i went to see a movie in a movie theater with my ex and his family (which is fine but they do stressme out)#and the movie projectionist was clearly streaming the movie instead of using reels of film #and the quality kept changing as the internet connection changed and there were FUCKING COMMERCIALS #so i was trying to stay chill as a guest of my friend who didn't pay to see the film but i was still mad about the whole thing #so when it ended and his mom was like 'maybe i'm going to complain to the manager because that sucked' i definitely encouraged it #and then it was a whole ordeal of waiting for the manager and some of the group wandered off #and somehow it was my job to both wait to talk to the manager becuase i Had Words but also keep the grouop together #and this theater was huge! multiple stories tall #some people wanted the bathroom some people wanted snacks some were waiting for the manager #none of us were familiar with this tehater and none of the places were visible from any other place #it was annoying and stressful but was it a nightmare? no
