grantwilsons:
“No— they were too fast.” Grant mumbled, pausing the video on the same frame he’d been pausing. Both the figures were completely covered, save for a tattoo on one’s palm. “I saw him a couple weeks ago. He fucked up one of my jobs and got Brother Blood pissed at me.” Grant ran a hand through his hair as he sat back on the couch. “Maybe he wanted to screw with Rose too, who knows. I need you to watch out, okay, Joe? If anything feels suspicious, you call me and I’ll come get you.”
‘So they weren’t amateurs.’ Of course they weren’t. Rose wouldn’t have been hurt by just anybody. His eyes widened. ‘You saw him?’ Joey knew their father had been in town, but interacting with Grant was something entirely different. He bit the inside of his mouth as he watched him with a concerned gaze. ‘Are you alright?’ While growing up he had never been particularly close with Slade, he knew his brother was a different story. ‘I will. Promise.’

grantwilsons:
Grant stayed with Rose the night and most of the morning after she got attacked. He hadn’t looked at the footage until he got home and called Joey to come over. The boys sat in the living room, across from each other as Grant went through the first set of security camera footage. “I’m tellin’ you, Joe, these guys are really gonna fucking get it.” He rubbed his face. “And if it was dad I’m gonna kick that old man’s ass and not think twice.” While Grant usually worshiped their dad, he’d been bitter after Slade left him in the middle of a job.
@jcricho liked THIS for a starter.
Joey craned his neck, attempting to catch a glimpse at the security footage. He let out a sigh as the frown etched on his face deepened. It scared him—they could have lost Rose. The thought of losing her wasn’t one he wanted to think about. He’d just gotten his brother back. ‘Did Rose get a good look at them?’ At mention of their father, his brows furrowed as he paused. ‘Do you think it was him?’ It wouldn’t surprise him, nothing surprised him anymore when it came to Slade. But, for the most part, he had been staying out of their lives for months.
blxkbat:
“ok.” Cass half grunts as she pulls herself up and off the ground. She’d fallen from the building accidentally. It didn’t happen very often, but this, apparently, was one of the occasions it did. She’d been lucky to not hurt anything too bad upon impact, although her ankle was twisted, or at least she thought it was. At this point the pain still faded to the back of her mind. She stood up, and felt the bruising at the edge of her eye. Damn it, that would hurt. The other jumped down and Cass pulled up her fists, swinging her leg in a wide arc, motioning to kick the person right where it hurt.
Joey froze. Ever since quitting the superhero life, he’d avoided anything exciting for the most part. So, while he probably didn’t react as strongly as most civilians would had, it still was a bit jarring. Just as he was about to run forward to make sure the stranger was alright, another fell down and before long fists were flying. Even when he was a costumed vigilante, violence had never been his favorite thing. It still wasn’t. Hesitantly, he took a step back and watched the fight unfold, unsure who the right person to help was. Nonetheless, his eyes turned a bright green.

NF: I wish I could create like that.
NF: What kind of music do you make?
JW: Everybody can.
JW: All types, but mainly classical
text- nora
NF: Yes. Ballet. Do you?
JW: Not really.
JW: I like creating the music more.

NF: Like dance?
JW: Yeah, do you dance?
mgannmegan:
M’gann was sitting in the grass at the park, trying to get away from all the people. She felt the sun on her face and sighed, wishing she could let her transformation go. Unfortunately, she knew too well how people would react to a White Martian in their midst. It wasn’t worth the risk. She opened her eyes and caught movement out of the corner of her eye. “Hello. It’s a nice day, isn’t it?”
Honestly, Joey didn’t know why he found himself constantly drawn to the park. Maybe it was the peaceful atmosphere that stood in stark contrast to the busy city. It was a good place to think. Glancing over at the sound of a woman’s voice, he smiled. ‘It is. Very nice,’ he signed, unsure if she knew ASL.

NF: Why is that?
JW: I dunno
JW: It's subjective!
rosexwilson:
Rose paused for a moment, thoughtful. “It’s kind of a slippery slope, right? Like—once you start again, it’s really hard to stop.” She had gone out the night before, and even now, she felt like she wanted to go out again, felt the need, the itch in the back of her mind to put on the costume again. It was like a drug and she was always chasing that high. She paused for a moment, clicking her tongue. “Did you hear that Slade is back in town?” she asked carefully.
‘That’s one way of putting it,’ he replied. ‘I’m not myself when I’m Jericho.’ And not just in the metaphorical way. Whenever he used his powers Joey never seemed to have complete control. The person he possessed always had some sort of hold, a lasting trace. At mention of their father, his blood ran cold. It had been so long since Slade had shown his face. ‘No. Did you see him?’ He shut his eyes. ‘What does he want?’

NF: No.
NF: But I am not really one to ask.
JW: That's a relief
JW: Everybody's a good person to ask when it comes to music
rosexwilson:
Rose sighed. “No,” she replied. “I still don’t know what I want to do with it. I’ve been trying not to do the whole Ravager thing, especially with Grant running around with the same name, but I don’t know—I guess I still want to help people. I want to be better than Slade made me out to be.”
‘I’ve always thought following the law was a good thing but now...it’s different.’ Everything had been so easy before, so much more black and white. At mention of Grant’s profession, Joey couldn’t keep the look of disapproval that flashed on his face. ‘You already are better than that, trust me.’ He paused. ‘I want to help people too—again. But I don’t know if I could start that life back up.’
alrighty i think it’s time to get off the internet

‘Sometimes I wonder if listening to the hero ban was a good idea,’ Joey signed, leaning against the back of a park bench. Of course he was basically preaching to the choir when it came to Rose on the issues of costumed pursuits, but he felt the need to air the thought nonetheless. The city’s recent events has been gnawing at him. ‘Kind of stupid that I thought it’d solve anything. Did you always know that it’s no good, and it just took me this long?’

VV: I was inclined to say yes
VV: BUt now I'm thinking maybe your taste is just very refined
JW: I'm inclined to say yes too tbh
JW: Refined it a word for it. Maybe I'm just old and picky.
