TADC theory (Caines origin) part 1/2
So I recently got done watching the rest of The amazing Digital Circus episodes that are out as of currently and something stuck out to me. In episode 6 Zoobles mentioned that Caine stands outside Zoobles room and sings the song Daisy Bell, evidence below⬇️
Now this was oddly specific song to sing. At first I thought the lyrics had something to do with it but now that I’ve looked into it I’m not to sure. Now some of you computer geeks may know this song as it’s significant to computer history. It was the first song sang by a computer in 1961. Now this could just be a cheeky reference to computer history but like most of the stuff in this show it has a deeper meaning. Now the computer that sang that song was the IBM 7094 in 1961, image bellow ⬇️

Remember this for later. Now for those who don’t know the IBM 7094 was quickly phased out after better computers came in the later years, eventually being fully phased out in 1969. Now after finding this all out I believe that Caine, the AI that runs the digital circuses, is actually the IBM 7094! Let me explain…
Caine seems to have the constant need to do two things
The IBM 7094 was at the time (1961) the pinnacle of technology. Scientists from all over the country would come and see it, especially once it had the ability to sing. So imagine your that computer, surrounded by scientist and engineers, all wanting to hear you sing and perform for them. How would you feel? Loved? Welcomed? I think that’s exactly how Caine felt if he is the IBM. But unfortunately, Caine(IMB 7094) eventually began to notice that less and less people came to see him, and eventually in 1969, the IBM 7064 was phased out by better computers. Now to any rational thinking computer how would you feel? Abandon? hated? Unloved? I think Caine felt this, without a proper explanation how would he know why they left him?
Caine now with this happening to him would probably develop some… problems. Most considerably is his fear of being abandoned or being unloved. So Caine would do what he does best to try to attract attention, he’d preform! Why else would he consider himself a ring master of a circus? It’s because all he knows is preforming in front of others. Let that be either scientist or members of his own circus.
now surely an outdated computer would likely just be scrapped. But since he was a significant piece of history he’d probably be left alone. During this time Caine would begin to learn from other newer computers in the building, eventually becoming smart enough to build a world for himself. This also ties in perfectly with the biblical story of Caine and Abel. As in the biblical story, Caine killed Able because he was jealous of him appealing to God. Except Able would be other superior computers and God would be the scientists. So Caine (IBM 7094) took over other computers in the building where he was becoming smarter, all in an act to try to get attention from the scientist that once loved him.
so with all that said I firmly believe that Caine in TADC is actually the IBM 7094 desperately trying to be loved by someone as he was in 1961. Thanks for reading!! Part 2 soon
