Requested by anonymous: Might be an odd request but on David's podcast like 2 weeks ago david said that Jeff is unreachable after 9 PM and I was just wondering if you could write something where it's like you and jeff just started dating so like nobody knows and the reason nobody can reach him after 9 is bc hes hanging out with his gf?

Before Jeff was a main character in the vlogs, he was available at any time of day, but when he got a little bigger, David started noticing his disappearances. After 9PM Jeff would stop answering texts. He would leave David's and be totally unreachable. At first David thought that Jeff just went to bed early, or maybe he had a secret life selling drugs or running a casino or something stupid, but then he saw it in y/n too.

Both of them were gone, void of all cell phones at night. He started to wonder if they were together.

They were. They'd been dating for a few weeks, and the only way they could be sure not to get exposed in a vlog, was to not be in the vlogs. So every night they left. One after the other, and turned off their phones. They'd had many talks of how attached people were to their phones, and decided that when they were together, on a date or just hanging out, they would leave that world behind.

They were a couple for a reason. Reason being that they liked eachother and wanted to spend time together, getting to know eachother and truly paying attention to one another. David didn't know any of this, and he couldn't help but wonder. So he followed them.

Jeff was too smart, and drove too fast, so David followed y/n. He followed her to her apartment, starting to think that he was being creepy until he noticed Jeff's car there. The pair walked inside together and David grabbed his camera, recording them as he followed them inside.

He felt like a ninja as he zoomed in on the closing elevator doors, specifically their hands linked together as the crack got smaller.

"I'm a fucking genius." David whispered to himself as he took the next elevator up.

Her head had just got comfy in the crook of Jeff's neck when there was a knock at the door. "Who is that?" Jeff asked, sitting up.

"Probably someone from the building, pick a movie." She handed him the remote before walking up to the door. "Shit." She whispered as she saw David's goofy face and clunky camera.

"Who is it?" Her whispered curses made Jeff light up, a million guesses of who was there running through his mind.

"David." That wasn't one of his guesses.

"He doesn't know I'm here, it's fine." Jeff attempted to rationalize as David's hand rapped on the door once more.

"He probably saw your car outside." Y/n realized.

"Shit."

She opened the door slowly, peeking her face out just enough so David couldn't peek in. "Why don't you answer my texts?"

"I didn't know I was that important to you." Her snarky tone made him angry.

"You answer them any other time of day, but as soon as you go home you're unreachable."

"I just like to turn my phone off while I go to bed."

"Who goes to bed at nine'o'clock?" David got her. She didn't know how to answer the question, so she flipped the script.

"Why are you interrogating me? Did you need something?"

"I need to know who you're hiding in there." He smirked a bit. Y/n could tell he knew, but she had to string him out a little longer.

"How do you know I'm hiding someone?"

"Your cheeks are smooshed in the door." Suddenly y/n could feel the door pressed tightly on her face, so she opened it up a few inches.

"Why are you so interested in my personal life all of a sudden?"

"I wouldn't be so interested if Jeff's car wasn't outside." He won. There was no way for her to dispute that.

"Okay! Fine! You win!" The door swung open and she walked inside with David in tow.

"Are you two dating?" He got straight to the point. Jeff looked up at him from the couch and nodded.

"How'd you figure it out?" There was a drop of sarcasm in his voice, but that was normal.

"You both drop off the face of the Earth after nine."

"Sorry, I guess." Jeff shrugged. There wasn't really anything else to say, they were caught.

"Were you ever gonna tell anyone?"

"Of course, just not yet." Y/n answered.

"Why didn't you tell me?" David continued to interrogate them.

"David, you suck at keeping secrets."

"We also wanted to just chill alone for a while without your crazy 'come over and get drunk for the vlog' texts." Jeff jumped in once again.

"Okay, well, I guess I'm just gonna go then." A deep awkwardness filled all the space between them as David started for the door.

"Don't tell anyone!" Y/n called after him, hoping he understood.

"No promises!" David shouted playfully as he closed the door behind them.

“Y/N! You gotta get up, baby. Billie Eilish is about to come on” Jeff spoke to you as leaned down to lift you off the ground. You were a tad intoxicated, as well as tired, due to the weekend full of alcohol. You were also sleep deprived, and those two combinations caused you to be sitting on the grass in the crowd near the main stage.

“But I don’t wannnnaaa.” You dragged out, not being able to form a proper sentence. You weren’t totally sloshed, but you definitely weren’t sober. Jeff grinned at you in amusement as he squatted down to your level.

“Don’t you wanna see Billie?” He asked, pushing your messy hair out of your face and letting his fingers grace along your cheeks. You smirked at him and let your hands find the way to his biceps. tracing the shape of them and suddenly becoming extremely attracted to your boyfriend and forgetting how tired you were. He noticed this as he smiled at his foolish and drunk girlfriend. His hands went down to your waist, trying to secure his hands around you so he could raise you up from the ground, “C’mon baby, can you stand up for me?” You looked up at him and blinked a few times, trying to focus with a sly smirk. You huffed, before nodding and grabbing onto Jeff’s shoulder’s securely as he helped you stand up and get off the ground.

“When’s Billie coming on?” You asked him, leaning into his body as his hands stayed on your waist to help you stay standing. You leaned your head into his chest as your arms wrapped around his torso, swaying slowly to the music coming from the speakers as the tour crew set up for Billie. 

“In a few minutes, are you excited?” He giggled at your sloppiness as you smiling like an absolute goof.

“Yes! I love her!” You instantly got excited, finally remembering what you were doing. Jeff laughed at you once again, holding you tight against his frame. 

A few minutes went by and the lights went low and the cheers got louder. You realized it was almost time for Billie to come on. You looked up at Jeff with an excited smile as he giggled at your expression. Before you knew it, Billie was on stage rocking out to her songs as you sang loudly with your back pressed against Jeff’s chest, his hands wrapped around your waist as he kissed your neck and jaw every so often. You smiled, taking in the complete atmosphere of the concert as your hands rested on Jeff’s in comfort. 

Your favourite song by Billie then came on, and your posture shot up. You looked at Jeff in excitement, only causing him to smile at you, “Ya wanna get on my shoulders?” He asked you with a smirk as you nodded profusely. He laughed, before leaning down so you could lean over his head, onto his shoulders. He then raised from the ground, hands gripping your thighs firmly to keep you from falling as you laughed at the amazement that you felt to be up in the air.

Your hands landed on Jeff’s head as you felt his luscious hair through your finger tips. One hand went up in the hair as you belted out he lyrics to Billie’s song. Jeff continued to smile as he held your thighs, knowing you were having the time of your life. 

The song ended soon and you smiled, closing your eyes and taking in the atmosphere of the crowd screaming and cheering. Before you knew it Jeff was lowering you back to the ground, grabbing your waist to escort you off of his shoulders. You giggled, waiting for him to come back up so you could see his eyes as Billie started her next song, ocean eyes.

Once he did, you locked your fingers with his, smiling at him and looking deep into his eyes, “You know it’s ironic that ocean eyes is playing.” You giggled as he danced with you to the slow song, spinning you around and pulling you into him.

“Oh yeah? Why’s that?” He smirked at you, leaning it to press his forehead against yours. You hands went up to the back of his neck, and his hands landed just above your ass. 

“Because it’s about someone with blue eyes, but I’ve never understood the fun.” You smirked, letting one hand trail up to his hair and the other fall down his chest and wander off to his bicep, trailing circles on it, “Your brown eyes are the only thing I wanna look at for the rest of my life. Ocean eyes are overrated.” 

“God, you’re fuckin’ perfect.” He whispered, more to himself than to you, but you heard it anyways. One of his hands that was on your waist went up to your jaw, trailing his fingers along your neck before firmly placing them, leaning his head into yours and locking your lips with the sweet sounds of Billie Eilish playing behind you.

They weren’t officially together, but it was implied. She was always hanging on his arm, laying on his lap, spending the night at his place. But they weren’t offical. The other guys saw this as having free reign, and flirted with her left and right. She flirted back in mild doses, only because she knew it drove Jeff crazy.

“When are we gonna fuck?” A slightly intoxicated Zane asked her. She giggled and leaned away from Jeff.

“Whenever you want, baby.” She stage whispered to him before laughing and leaning back into Jeff.

“Oh, really? Stass, when we gonna fuck?” Jeff called across the room at Zane’s fuck buddy. She turned her head and smiled at the very attractive man.

“Seriously, though, are you down?” Matt was curious. Y/n opened her mouth to respond but Jeff was fed up.

“No, she’s not down.” Jeff answered for her. She turned to him, noticing the redness in his face, and how tense he seemed to be. She wanted to mess with him more.

“Says who?” She asked condecendingly.

“Says me, I haven’t had sex in a year, she’s mine.” David jumped in the conversation, admitting his small crush on y/n.

“I’m a hot commodity.” She told Jeff. He squeezed her knee as his jealousy built.

“Y/n, I-” His voice was only loud enough for her to hear, so he was easily interrupted by Zane.

“I asked her first, so I have dibs.” He pointed at David and Matt. The three of them quickly got into an argument about the rules of dibs and who deserved her the most. Jeff stayed silent as his rage built up.

“What if I wanted her?” Natalie jumped in as she sat on the couch.

“I would be down for that!” Y/n raised her hand.

“Can everybody shut the fuck up!” Jeff yelled as he stood up and stormed out of the room. Everybody said ‘ooh’ as he walked down the hallway towards David’s back room.

“Why is he so mad if y'all aren’t even together?” Matt asked. Y/n shook her head and followed him down the hallway. Her chest hurt as she realized her incessant flirting was actually hurting him.

“Jeff.” She closed the door behind her.

“They’re pissin’ me off, it’s not your fault, babe.” He ran his hand through his hair as he tried to cool off.

“I started it, though. I’m sorry. I just wanna know one thing though.” Y/n spoke softly as she got closer to him, not wanting to aggrivate him anymore.

“What?” He finally faced her, he felt small and unimportant.

“You know I only joke like that because we aren’t official. So why aren’t we?” Her eyes bore into his, searching his soul for an answer.

“Why aren’t we official?” He repeated her question, as if it didn’t make sense.

“Yeah.”

“I don’t know.” His eyebrows scrunched together. He really didn’t know. “I guess I just wasn’t ready? I guess I-” He stopped guessing and grabbed her hand, pulling her after him.

“Jeff, what are you do-” She asked as they sped down the hallway.

“Shush.” He told her as everyone noticed them once again. “Hey, everyone.” He called the group’s attention and grabbed both of y/n’s hands. “I’m tired of all of you fucker’s hittin’ on my girl. So, y/n, will you be my girlfriend?” He smiled as the words left his mouth. The group was silent as they awaited her response. Joy filled her brain and she was quick to answer him.

“Yes.” She was elated as she kissed him. The group screamed in excitement. “So, we’re official now?” She looked him in the eyes once again, finally finding the answer she was searching for earlier.

“Yes, we’re official.” Jeff smiled before kissing her again.

“Hey, Y/N, have I ever told you how much I like your name?” Dom caught your attention as he sat next to you on the couch in the disgusting apartment. You tensed up, not wanting to have a conversation with him.

“No.” You shortly replied, hoping he’d get the hint. David and Jeff were on the other couch as David filmed your encounter. Jeff looked extremely unimpressed, which you couldn’t blame him for.

“I love it, but I think I’d like to know your number even more.” He finished the pick up line as you rolled your eyes so hard you thought you might strain them. David laughed loudly, and when you didn’t give out a reaction Dom continued to try and seduce you, “Have I ever told you that some people call me a firefighter?" 

"David, can we go please?” You ignored Dom’s idiotic sentence. David smiled and agreed to leave. He had gotten enough footage of Dom for his vlog and he didn’t want you to be uncomfortable.

You weren’t planning on going to the apartment with David, but you were at his house and he asked you and Jeff if you would, so you agreed. 

While the three of you walked back down to David’s car, you could tell Dom’s flirting with you really pissed Jeff off. Even though it was short and innocent, you knew he hated not being able to speak up.

The two of you had been secretly dating for three months after hooking up on New Years Eve, and it was safe to say Jeff was over the secret dating thing. You, however, weren’t ready to reveal your relationship to everyone just yet. 

The drive back to David’s house was silent, other than when David would make conversation. You were in the front seat with David, while Jeff sat in the back not saying a word. 

“What’s up with you, Jeff?” David asked, looking at him in the rear view mirror.

“Nothin’.” Jeff shortly answered. David gave you a look and you just shrugged, indicating that you didn’t know why he was acting that way, even though you did. 

When you got back to David’s house, he informed you both that he was going to try to get some editing done, but you were free to stay. You were going to stay to keep him company, but Jeff wanted to go home. So, since Jeff was your drive, you had to leave too.

You said your goodbye’s to David and hopped in the passengers seat on Jeff’s car, looking at him with concern.

“Jeff.” You softly started as he started driving. His grip on the steering wheel tightened as he realized you were going to bring up why he was upset, “Jeff.” You repeated, more sternly this time.

“What, Y/N?” He snapped, looking at you for a second in frustration. You looked at him in surprise, and he immediately felt bad, “I’m sorry. I just fuckin’ hate how Dom was talkin’ to ya." 

"I know.” You sighed, “Me too." 

"And I can’t even say anything to him, cause David’s always got his fuckin’ camera out, and God forbid anyone have any clue that we’re together.” He passive aggressively added. 

“What’s that suppose to mean?” You asked, looking at him with narrowed eyes as his eyes flickered between you and the road, his grip on the steering wheel getting tighter by the minute. 

“It means that I hate that I can’t let everyone know that you’re mine, I hate that all the boys constantly flirt with you and I can’t say shit, and I hate that you wanna keep hiding us!” He was finally letting out all of his emotions that he had been holding in for awhile, and you were shocked.

“I don’t want to hide us, Jeff.” You tried to calm him down, but it was no use.

“Then why can’t we tell people about us?" 

"Because! David would just want to exploit our relationship for his vlogs! They all would! And you’re suppose to be the hot single guy that he uses for clickbait! The fans would hate me!” You now let our your emotions, but Jeff just scoffed at this.

“Y/N, that’s ridiculous.” He brushed off your feelings, causing you to now grow angry with him. Before you could respond, Jeff pulled into your apartment buildings parking garage.

“I don’t want you to come in.” You quietly spoke, afraid of his response.

“What?” He looked at you in disbelief. 

“Go home. I don’t want to see you right now.” You spoke clearly, hopping out of the car and slamming the door, ignoring Jeff’s protests. 

You spent the rest of your day going through David’s past vlogs that featured clips of you and Jeff. You would watch how he talked to Jeff and perceived him in the vlogs, and you would then read the comments. 

You had never went through the comments on his video’s before, so you were extremely surprised when the majority of them were about you and Jeff.

You had no idea that everyone was so in favour of the two of you being together, and you also had no idea how bad you were at hiding your feelings for him. Nobody in the friend group ever commented on it, though. At first, Carly and Erin asked you what you thought of him, and you just said he was cute but not your type. Zane would occasionally tease Jeff, saying he should get with you, but for the most part it was a joke. 

Thinking about all of the reasons you and Jeff decided to keep your relationship a secret at first made sense at the time, but now they seemed a bit expired. You originally both were in favour of it. You both thought it’d be easiest, and that way if something went wrong it wouldn’t be overly messy. Jeff had brought up a few weeks ago possibly telling everyone, but you were too afraid. You had watched other relationships on youtube crumble due to the platform, and you didn’t want that to happen with Jeff.

You decided that you needed to talk to someone other than Jeff about this, because you were too confused about it to think for yourself. So, you chose to confide in Erin. She was one of the wisest girls in the group in your opinion, and you knew you could trust her. 

When you got to David’s house, Jeff was already there. You could tell that he was upset, and you were saddened to know that it was your fault.

“Hey, Erin? Can I talk to you for a minute?” You tried to discreetly ask, but Jeff’s head perked up with his eyebrows furrowed.

“Yeah, absolutely.” Erin smiled and the two of you made your way out to the backyard.

You then proceeded to fill Erin in on your and Jeff’s secret relationship, laughing at her shocked expression.

“What! You and Jeff?!” She shouted as you quickly shushed her, worried your other friends might hear, “I could tell he was into you, but jesus I didn’t know you were keeping it from us for three months!" 

"I know.” You groaned, “And now he wants to tell everyone, but I just don’t know. I was always scared the fans might hate me, or that being public might ruin our relationship.” You explained to her and she nodded.

“Well, I can tell you one thing and that’s that the fans love you. When Carly and I do vlog squad gossip videos half of the questions are about you and Jeff.” You smiled at the new information, “As for ruining your relationship, if you and Jeff are meant to be together, you’ll get through it. Scott and Kristen do it, Bruce and Carly, Me and TJ.” She further explained and you realized how right she was.

“You’re right.” You nodded and she smiled, “I hope he’s not too mad at me. We got in a fight about it today." 

"Well, go tell him you’re ready to be public then! I can’t believe he’s gone so long without beating up Dom or Jonah for when they talk about you.” You both laughed as you headed inside. 

You went and sat next to Jeff on the couch, a lot closer than you normally would around your friends, and he gave you a confused expression.

“Jeff and I are dating.” You blurted out, not knowing how to inform everyone so just doing the first thing that came to your mind. Everyone looked at you in shock, including Jeff.

“What?” Everyone shouted out around the room. You smiled and nodded, “Since when?” David asked, really wishing he had his camera on. 

“New years.” You replied and all of their expressions became even more shocked. 

You and Jeff then answered all of the questions your friends had about your relationship, as he had his arm wrapped around your waist and you cuddled into his side. You were both so happy you could finally do it around your friends. 

When everyone had calmed down and moved on from the news, Jeff was finally able to confront you, “I’m sorry about brushing your feelings off today.” He sincerely spoke as you smiled up at him.

“I’m sorry about brushing your feelings off for the past couple of months.” You admitted and he chuckled.

“Why the sudden change of heart?” He asked and you smiled up at him.

“You were right, I was hiding us, and I didn’t want to do it anymore.” You leaned up and kissed him in front of your friends for the first, but definitely to the last time. Everyone noticed this and immediately made grossed out noises and faces.

“Yeah, whatever.” Jeff rolled his eyes at them and you laughed, “And for future reference, tell Dom if he ever uses any of his shitty pick up lines on my girl again, he’s gettin’ his head put through a wall.”

    “Jeff, why can’t you just drop it?” I continued to beg Jeff to stop questioning me. As he rolled his eyes, Jeff started to pace the room. My eyes watched as he hurriedly crossed the room.

    “Why can’t you just say it back?” Jeff screamed at me. Chills ran down my spine as I watched Jeff run his hands through his hair in frustration. I tugged my lip between my teeth and took a deep breath.

    “Jeff you know how much I care for you,” I told him quietly. He scoffed, rolled his eyes, and turned around. He walked to the window and laughed bitterly. I furrowed my brows.

    “If you care so much, then tell me you love me. Say it back,” he pressured. I shook my head. I took a step closer to Jeff but quickly stopped before I got too close.

    “Jeff, it’s not that easy for me,” I whined, tears welled up in my eyes as I became frustrated at Jeff. Jeff spun around and stared at me.

    “Because you don’t love me!” Jeff accused. I shook my head violently.

    “Because I do!” I screamed back at him. My shaky hands reached up to wipe away the tears that were falling.

    “I can’t tell you how much I love you because when I do it becomes real. It becomes real, and if you ever leave it’s gonna hurt so much worse!” I shouted at Jeff.

    Jeff cautiously walked towards me, and I quickly wrapped my arms around his torso. I sobbed into chest while rambling about how much he means to me.

    “I love you so damn much it hurts. I just don’t wanna lose you,” I whimpered into his warm chest. Jeff rubbed my back and let his chin rest on the top of my head.

    “You’re not gonna lose me. I can promise you that. I’m never gonna walk away from you,” Jeff reassured me. I softly nodded against him. I pulled myself away from Jeff and stared up at him. He looked down at me and smiled softly.

    My hand slowly slid up to Jeff’s cheek, and I stood up on my tip toes. My lips planted themselves on his cheek gently.

    “I love you so much,” I whispered into Jeff’s ear, scared of anyone else hearing despite the fact that we were alone in our shared apartment. My head fell to rest in the crook of Jeff’s neck. Jeff pressed a kiss to the top of my head.
