How do you find inspiration for writing?

Through personal experience. Mostly my own, but my friends’ experiences have impacted me as well.

I wrote this when I was 13 years old.

I saw the world in you;

but more than that, I gave my world for you.

I traded what I had and could have had,

for a chance with you.

And what a wonderful chance it was.

Bumpy, but happy.

Intimidating, but exciting and new.

It was a chance to walk away from my uncertain certainties.

A chance to be free-

to laugh, to love.

A chance to grow-

even if I was planted next to you.

You watered me with love

and allowed me to photosynthesize myself, my goals, my dreams.

But now I know I was not the only flower in your garden,

and I have begun to wilt.
