story concept that won't leave me alone:
Odin can use Dragon Veins, he just doesn't because people would start asking too many questions. but he forgets to tell Ophelia about this, and she uses one accidentally, and Odin has to reveal that he can use Dragon Veins too in order to defend his wife's honor.
he and Selena and Laslow are still trying to preserve their cover as much as possible, though, so they're super vague and basically just say "yeah he's descended from a Different dragon that's Somewhere Else. you've never heard of this one. don't worry about it" and refuse to elaborate.
which, of course, leads to the Nohrian siblings concluding that Odin is their half-brother, his mom faked his death and spirited him away somewhere to protect him back when all the concubines were assassinating the kids that weren't their own, and he was scared to tell anyone because he thought he'd be executed as an imposter.
(they're all very touched that he became a royal retainer to be with them again, rather than staying safely obscure in whatever far-off place his mother hid him.)
(Odin is very fervently denying all of this. it's not working.)
