On Saturday, some buddies and I trekked up to Mt. Hood to go boarding. It was about 20 degrees and snowed the entire day. I haven't boarded since last season so it was nice to hit the slopes! Skibowl is a pretty cool resort and had quite a few runs that were lit so we could ride longer than usual. 'Twas an awesome day!! Hopefully we'll be able to get out again before the season comes to an end.

Today turned out to be a pretty epic day. I decided to do something a little different from my norm because I have always wanted to head North to Astoria, OR to check out where the movie, 'The Goonies', was filmed (one of my favorite movies of all time just FYI). I didn't want make the trip just to see that so I found a couple of other rad places along the way that helped break up the long drive.

The first three photos are from Warrenton, OR at a place called Fort Stevens State Park. Here is where the Peter Iredale rests; a once massive steel sailing vessel that ended up colliding with another while on its way to the Columbia River in the early 1900s. What is left of the wreck is just bits and pieces of the steel frame that once held this ship together. So much history behind this..it’s definitely worth checking out if you are near the area.

The fourth, fifth, and sixth photographs are the reason why I trekked up North for Adventure Friday. The Goon Docks. I honestly don't even know what to write here because I'm sure that you guys have all seen the movie and it speaks for itself. The house is still in decent shape and the current owner actually allows you to walk around the property. I was so ecstatic when I drove up to the house and saw the sign welcoming Goonies fans. I mean, the movie screams adventure...so why wouldn't I be?! If any of you ever get the opportunity to visit, you definitely should. The last photo posted in this set is of the jail house where the opening scene was shot. This is the jail in which one of the Fratelli brothers escaped from! So COOL! Goonies never say die! The last four photographs were taken at Ecola State Park. I could not spend an Adventure Friday without going on a hike so where better to hike than the place where they filmed the ending scenes of the Goonies?!?! I hiked up and down the beach for several miles and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the sunshine while trying to find some of One-Eyed Willie’s treasure..unfortunately I came up empty handed but it was worth every minute (ha ha). I hope you guys enjoy the photos just as much as I enjoyed taking them! If you guys would like more information on these places, just let me know :)

I'm Bloggin' It

So, I FINALLY decided to create a blog!! After having been asked by quite a few people, I decided to take the time to set up an account where I will try and keep ya’ll updated with my life as best as possible. As you all probably know, I am very adventurous and seek thrill, beauty, and entertainment in the great outdoors. This blog is going to primarily serve as a platform for me to keep, organize, and manage all of my photographs from the many adventures I embark on. It will also be a place (I’m hoping) where my friends and family can somewhat live vicariously through me via my photographs and stories. As of now, I have uploaded some photographs (from the past year) that I thought were worthy of showing all of you awesome people! There are captions under each with a location. Each has its own unique and epic story; however, I have decided to only write stories about each adventure going forward. I’m hoping to get more involved in photography so there will be photos posted of anything and everything I see on my adventures. Also, I’m going to try and post weekly so look for updates. Anywho, that’s about all I have so I hope you guys enjoy!
