Little Words | Lucas & Jenna
Lucas sighed under his breath, it felt like he was pulling teeth talking to children sometimes. “Alright then.” There was no point in pulling it out of Jenna if she didn’t feel like talking about it, and honestly he didn’t feel like scolding the little boy. He had a feeling it wouldn’t make a difference one way or another right now, and it’d probably just make the little boy angrier with him. Lucas soon forgot about the problems that Gavin and Jenna were having, maybe subconsciously realizing that he wouldn’t be able to fix them for the two children and instead focused on Jenna, helping her through the words she was having trouble with.
Whenever Jenna came across a word she didn't know, her face scrunched up as she focused on it. If there was one word she didn't know, it would throw her off completely and she blindly reached for the aid of her father's voice, trying to help her sort out the words as well. It was frustrating but as she started to see repeat words the further they went into the book, the easier she read and more relaxed she became. Jenna had shifted, leaning her head against Lucas' shoulder and legs pulled up to her side.
