The next morning, Tom woke up to find you weren’t in bed beside him. He was hoping you hadn’t gone back to the couch after he drifted off. The laughter from the kitchen calmed his worries. After hearing it for years, he knew those sounds by heart. Fighting the stiffness in his limbs, he slowly made his way out of the room to find you and Chris in the kitchen cooking breakfast. The two of you were both in tears over something and tried to catch your breath as he made his way into the room.
“Do I even want to know what the two of you are up to at this hour?”
You both answered at the same time.
“No.”
