Plants in my neighbourhood, early Hereturikōkā. I heard recently that Kai Tahu consider the whitebait swimming in the rivers one of the signifiers of kōanga or spring, which is often August / Hereturikōkā, and I’m over winter so I’m calling it - nau mai, kōanga.
I’m really enjoying the x100vi, actually. I took these on a dinner out on Wednesday this week - the camera just makes shooting easy for me, and is giving this practice a sense of fun again!
I'm joining the "x100vi is making me re-engage with photography for the first time in a year" brigade
Garth Nix: This is my female main character! She's an awesome mage and fighter and necromancer, and she goes on a quest to fight a terrible Dead entity trying to destroy the world, and she's a little inexperienced but her quick wits and powerful talents save the day!
Also Garth Nix: This is my male main character. He's there too I guess
God this passage makes the second two books SO fucking funny. "This is Queen Sabriel the Abhorsen and her husband, King Idiot"

I’m just saying if Daniel Radcliffe, the literal protagonist of the Harry Potter franchise since the age of ten years old, was able to disavow JK Rowling and move on from the HP universe then actually what the fuck is anyone else’s excuse. There is no one else on the planet who can say their entire childhood was HP more than that guy and he still cared about trans people more than the average tumblr user who says “we’re protesting by making all her characters queer and trans!!” like you can do better. You should do better.
Lesbians dressed as clowns disrupted a "gender-critical" panel last month at University College London. Participants were surprised when trans and cis dykes from The Dyke Project obstructed the proceedings while in cheerful clown attire. Julie Bindel, one of the panelists, has been a major voice against trans, bisexual, and SWer rights. The protesters chanted, “you’re not feminists, you’re all clowns!” while interrupting her. More of these protests, please! Read the full story on Dazed.
At 0:19 you can see them fully assault a protester. Not "just" escorting them out the building, but shoving them onto the ground hard
Per the Dazed article, these protesters did the smart thing: rather than all begin shouting at once, the protesters took action in different groups. While the first group raised a banner, the remaining three groups pretended not to be protesters. Then, once the event organizers had removed the first group and begun the presentation over again, the second group of people (the ones in the video) began their disruption. Then the event organizers got everything in order and the third group of protesters interrupted them all over again. There was four groups in total!
The tactic has two benefits: first, they were able to make chaos a lot longer than they would've if they'd all protested all at once. But also, they got the TERFs to stop trusting each other. The protesters created an air of paranoia amongst the bigots and I hope it fucking haunts them until they're in the ground
beach date! also ianthe is there for some reason
